PEOPHIN DAY SPECIAL
The Master of the Sea
By Ballad
In vacant waters on island's edge,
Stirring shadows creep,
In between the coral's mass,
And out into the deep.
There manes of silver, copper, gold,
There hooves of ebony,
There smooth scaled skin the smoothest silk,
From surface eyes they'll flee.
Fiery eyes of emerald green,
A mask of brilliant gold,
A jewel of red their own riches
Brings fortune and luck I'm told.
In vacant waters on island's edge,
Beneath the water's din,
Lives the master of the sea,
The stunning Peophin.

The Warrior Peophin
By Animaltina
She twists and turns and flips and glides
Tail waving, hooves flailing;
On a puff of ocean water she rides
Sailing, sailing, sailing.
Beneath the liquid surface now
Joyfully playing, twirling;
Snakes through the reef with grace and wow;
Sets the aqua whirling.
The trumpets sound with deafening noise
Notes terrifying, reaching;
She dons the gleaming helm and poise
Serenity becomes screeching.
She charges into the midst of battle
Shield lowered, blade clashing;
Needing not commander nor saddle
Lashing, lashing, lashing.
Fearlessly defending her Maraquan land
Nimbly feinting, dancing;
With its rainbow coral and brilliant sand
Cleverly, swiftly prancing.
Diving through the turquoise deep
Outsmarting the enemy, thinking;
The outsiders crumple in a heap
Never to awake, sinking.
A wondrous victory cry vibrates around
Voices cheering, ringing;
She humbly retreats from the praising sound
Singing, singing, singing.
She twists and turns and flips and glides
Tail waving, hooves flailing;
On a puff of ocean water she rides
Forever sailing, sailing, sailing.

The Angel of the Sea
By Vixenspurr
'Twas once upon a stormy night,
The clouds were brewing grey.
From its path, a merchant ship
Had sadly gone astray.
The stars had vanished from the sky,
So there were no lights left.
The sailors thought that they were doomed;
From hope they were bereft.
Then, from the depths of the water,
Came a shining glint of gold.
The sailors watched as it came up,
What a beauty to behold!
Lightning flashed in the black sky.
They saw a Peophin.
At once they knew their savior,
They knew of Venuquin.
Venuquin smiled and started to swim,
An easy, fluid motion.
As best as they could, they followed her
Throughout the blackened ocean.
She led them through the currents
And she led them over waves,
Saving all the sailors from
Their early, watery graves.
After hours on end, the sailors were
Met with a surprise.
Mystery Island laid on the horizon;
They couldn't believe their eyes!
But yes, rings of smoke and palm trees
Were clearly in their sight.
Venuquin had pulled them all
Safely through the night.
The ship docked in the harbor;
Venuquin saw them go.
The moonlight shone through darkened clouds;
Her horns started to glow.
Both horns and pearls alike
Shone with gilded radiance.
She answered to another cry,
Receiving their thanks in advance.
Those that become victims of the ruthless ocean's wrath
By straying too far from the safety of the beaten path
Are often saved by a legendary, lovely Peophin.
She's the angel of the sea; they call her Venuquin.

Marak
By Panril
Within the tower, statues, twelve
Heroes, all, will show themselves
Chiselled features set in stone
Praised beneath a moving dome.
Said tower houses Marak, cold
Painted so by granite folds.
The sculptor could not quite confine
That pride and might in skilful lines.
Peophin armoured, born to clan
Warred with dwellers of the sand.
Yet Marak bearing wild mane
Established long and peaceful reign.
For Marak was most brave, austere
Mind and heart completely clear.
The skies reward him with a star
Constellation from afar
Which forms a surging wave with crest
Reminder of Peophin blessed
Enshrined in ancient, buried lore
And lofty hall of Altador.

A Swell of Peophins
By Togepi_forever
On this day of creatures great,
Remember Peophins blessed by fate.
Some you know not, some you do-
Hear now of these legends true.
Flowing mane of seafoam hair,
Sleek and shiny, soft and fair.
Her eyes glow softly with starlight-
Lady Venuquin of the Night.
Marak, Guardian of the waves,
Rising high and standing brave.
Defending long-lost Altador-
Not a legend - much, much more.
Where fire is shall Daedelon be;
Blessed by the faeries is he.
Fire and Water, seldom friends,
Yet both to him their help will lend.
Lustra, Peophin of Gold,
From her back great wings unfold.
Guarding creatures of the sea
From fearsome Jetsams, where'er they be.
Where there is love fair Nadia roams,
In one's heart she makes her home
Bonds of family and friends,
Both of these she carefully tends.
So until this day comes once again,
Remember these great Peophins;
When wondrous tales you do crave,
Recall the creatures of the waves.
