IXI DAY SPECIAL

Teach Me, Sinsi
By Skgurlzguild

I walk along in Meridell
And stumble to your place.
You tell me of your puzzling game -
Its point, its rules, its ways.

Sinsi, with your head held high,
An Ixi I admire.
You switch and twist the shapes around,
Setting your score on fire.

You offer me the cups and swords,
And now I must decline,
For though we're both Ixi of sorts,
My smarts are not as fine.

Our looks, I guess, are one in same,
Our fur the same light brown,
Our floppy ears and hooves that make
The Unis jealous hounds.

But other than the same great look,
(One everybody wants),
I say I cannot play your game,
All through your frowns and taunts.

You wish to know why I refuse,
And my mouth snaps shut with tape.
And finally do I admit,
I do not know my shapes.

You see, I wish to know them well,
For I feel like a fool;
Why I don't know? Well, I'll tell you -
There is no Neoschool!

So teach me Sinsi, teach me now
Of what I wish to learn.
Then maybe, in your Shape Shifting
I'll finally take a turn.

Tarla
By Panril

The end of Icy Tunnel
Leads to Terror Mountain's peak
Where snow falls thick and heavy winds
Do tear and howl and shriek.

A sign outside a frozen hut
Emblazoned with red question mark:
Tarla's Shop of Mystery
Strikes fear in dealers' hearts.

One never knows what one might nab
From this elusive Ixi's store
Concealed by undesired cloth
And random price galore.

A Petpet or some pottery,
Perhaps a bit of old barbed wire?
Is it food or furniture
To which you most aspire?

Tarla does not offer clues
But grins from ear to ear.
At times she gasps or shakes her head,
Unspeakably austere.

Some days the shop is closed
And Tarla is but a shadow.
The tassel of scarf, a flash of pink!
She glares at you through the window.

Crowns, Cups, and Swords
By Pyrosquirrelx

The breeze was light and airy like a shiver
Of faerie's wings above the shady tree aquiver
The branches stretched out sanctuary kind
The grass was soft; I slowly closed my mind.

Only for eyes to snap open - what is this?
A newcomer, intruder on spring bliss.
Yet not your normal stranger in a cloak
But tiny violet-eyed Ixi, child of common folk.
Minutes seeped slow into tortured hours,
In the grasp of that leaf-sheltered bower
My eyes turned bloodshot, weak and slow
Past novelty, my frustration began to grow.

A golden goblet, a crimson crown
My hands shifted the patterns down,
A crimson crown, a silver sword
Like treasures from a dragon's hoard.

All that glitters is not gold
Foolishness was masked as bold
I took on this greedy game
'Til mind grew dead and fingers lame

The little lithe Ixi crossed her hooves
Unrelenting, refusing clues
The breeze stirred back her tawny fur
As she laughed at me and I glared at her.

Still I sat beneath that tree,
The world was silver, crimson, gold to me
A golden goblet, a silver sword
I pray for the day where I grow bored.

Nabile of the Desert
By Anjie

A desert fable, cast in time,
And Ixi princess, quite sublime.
Her lineage lost as years did turn,
The truth so hidden, she must learn.
And though the desert war is won,
Nabile's long story just begun.

In melting shine of midday heat,
Fair Ixi wanders desert street.
A thief who'll pick a pocket, there,
Then vanish into mere thin air.
With Tomos loyal at her side,
They'll snatch what strangers can provide.

Nabile's a thief and scoundrel too,
Her future's bleak from this first view.
But fate would have another plot,
To find the Princess time forgot.
A battle that's been unmatched since,
Her path doth lead to ancient Prince.

Jazan shall find his Princess fair,
Though not the one he thought was there.
Nabile's his future, and his Queen,
A tale like this is since unseen.
And thus the mystery, unfurled.
Nabile the Queen of ancient world.

The Day the Ixi Arrived
By Mefaniel

Big eyes appeared somewhat gingerly
From behind a leafy tree
Tiny horns on a small, red head
She was staring back at me

Daintily, she pranced around
Hopping through tall grass
Flashing her eyes coyly,
Flipping her small tail with sass

Originally from Meridell,
She called herself an Ixi
Prettily loping about this glen
Like a playful, little pixie

Quiet, well-behaved, demure,
The pride of any owner
We welcomed the tiny Ixi
To our cozy Neopian corner
