ACARA DAY SPECIAL
An Ode to Fernypoo
A sparkling tiara adorns her blue head.
Soft velvetine gloves wrap across her paws.
Pink fabric of the highest quality thread,
Engulfs the rest of her quite because
Of wealth and grandeur she most certainly is.
A gleaming smile or two, fooling those who
Believe her outward kindness is not amiss.
Even you can be tricked, trust me, I too.
Unless you find Cheat! worth your while,
Chances are that come across her you will not
"Show me a gracious loser and I'll
Show you someone who gets beat a lot,"
The heiress declares, feisty in competing.
She won't cease until she gets her way
Although her dreams might slowly be fleeting,
She hasn't beat Spectre, the king of Cheat! play.
And it doesn't look like she will, confident
Too much thanks to her father's subsiding grace.
Fans of Fernypoo, do not lament!
For today can be the day to erase
Spectre's winning streak for good and forever!
After all, it is Acara Day!
If that fails, there is however
Another dream to keep her at bay--
One of calling Fernypoo "Queen"!
Aquatic Acara Sonnet
As seas break hard upon a sand filled shore
A gathering of furry beasts commence
First pause as if they are somewhat unsure
Then sudden leaping ending all suspense
Multi-colored rain of tail and ear
Drive eyes wide in surprise and dread
Baseless is unwarranted care and fear
Across blue seas Acaras start to spread
Then inner eye must supply the missing scene
Abyss in briny seas are filled with pets
A world of water wild yet still serene
It's left behind with sadness and regrets
Acara Aquatic Festival comes once a year
A celebration of water they hold so dear
The sun shines high on Brightvale hill
And afternoon is warm and still.
Beneath the shade of Brightvale tree
Sits dear Roberta's Scrollery.
Through the window one might spy
This Acara with her scrolls piled high;
Scrolls of ancient, arcane spells
For growing crops in Meridell.
She'll grant prowess in Battledome,
Rid Petpetpets from Neohome.
Benevolence, Radiance, greater Healing
For a price she'll bestow these feelings.
Flames and Lightning, Nova, Trickery
These scrolls demand a steeper fee.
Or if it is defence you seek,
Then to Roberta you must speak.
Niece of Hagan, Brightvale's King
But not renowned for this one thing.
They say that she with good friend Tor
Light to Neopia once restored.
But of fame, Roberta's wary:
The vanquisher of Darkest Faerie.
This heroine minds her Brightvale store;
As newfound fans flock to her door.
Fauna of Altador
Within a city, lost to time,
A hall stands tall, aloft, divine.
Its secrets once locks by a spell,
A secret only time would tell.
Carved in stone, Twelve statues, tall,
Yet one face, sweeter than them all.
For there it's Fauna who doth stand,
A tiny Petpet held in hand.
The Gatherer now known once more,
A vital part of ancient lore.
One honored in the city, fair,
For golden deeds, her place is there.
Texts tell of soul aglow with light,
A symbol of things just, and right.
Acara small, and sweet of face,
Had more than rightly earned her place.
Beloved by Petpets shy and small,
Her kindness called them, one and all.
Where Fauna went, they danced behind,
Her gentle heart through darkness shined.
Each thing she tended with such care,
That sweet Acara, wise and fair.
A vicious beast it's said, she tamed,
(And with mere apple, so it's claimed!)
Such awe did stories of her bring,
They reached the ear of noble King.
The greatest honor in the land,
The reasons statue tall doth stand.
A Hero in the sacred hall,
Fauna beloved by one and all.
Thus proving to us, greatness starts,
With simple deeds from golden hearts.
Hopes of Ferny
Blurs of color, sound, and scent
Make a raucous snake of fans, spiraling downward
Onto a faultless circumference
Of glassy, glossy, dreamy oak flooring
And in the center of the scene
One steadfast, maple table
Four seats, three occupants
The greenroom door opens...
A sleek, chic figure swanks her way in
Trailing a frilly pink gown, heavily pinned
Bedecked with a gleaming array of diamond rings
Ruby anklets, opal stubs, all that bling
The awe of her dreamy purple pearls causing a din
Yet in spite of the glimmering gems, what outshines
Those beaming whites, so charming, even, and in line?
Her conditioned, sky blue fur glints more softly
Her two-horned head held proud and loftily
And, like glowing moonstones themselves,
Two deep, twinkling eyes
The wise warn us: the look is a disguise
For the foul, deadly temper just waiting to arise
Fernypoo, as she is known, takes herself a seat
Twirling that glow in her hand, she sets
Upon her head a solid gold, gem-flecked crown
The stern Nimmo dealer fans out cards to each
Each player, resolved, ready, and intense
Each Cheat guru, of praise and great renown
Cards fly, spectators rise
Acara Day festivities are going on outside
And one Acara sits below
With a chance to win for prizes untold
Ferny fans twitch with a yearning itch
As the mound of cards mounts
For their favorite princess to seize the game
Boost her yet notorious fame
"One three," claims a Kau, rather shy
"Cheat," declares a certain cool reply
A card of such fate is slowly unscrolled
Opened like a chest of misery or gold
And -gasp- behold! One three
Blaring teeth bare in rage
Eyes spin to furious burgundy
A monstrous skin emerges as anger surges
With flushed ears and popping veins
Fernypoo does not restrain
Unleashes the screech that kills
The shriek that chills
Reverberates her deathening cry
Acara Day hopes have had a demise
