A monster of ferocity,
He slowly stalks throughout the night,
To feed his wicked addiction,
Inciting terror, fear and fright.
Eyes that glow with greed and lust,
He grins a sharp and evil grin.
He silently stalks his prey,
With his stealth they cannot win.
Deep in the night you hear a growl,
Followed by a tiny gasp.
As he captures yet another one,
Another treasure in his grasp.
Tomorrow he shall sell his prize,
Adding to his growing wealth.
He sits and counts it carefully,
A small reward for his great stealth.
But there is method in his madness,
There is a reason for his plight.
Vengeance is what he seeks, and
He will not stop until it's put right.
The faeries rarely speak his name, as
They know wherever they are,
He will be there watching them,
The terror that is Balthazar.
Desert Poogle Music Box
Lingering sound crystal chimes,
Merge into softest song.
Familiar is enchanting tune,
So softly, hum along.
Delicate, the small caved box,
Within plays silken sound.
A tiny Poogle, tangerine,
So slowly spins around.
Exotic is the small design,
The orange tone so bright.
A Desert Poogle, just exact,
And yet one tenth the height!
Kohl does rim the shining gaze,
And headdress seems aglow.
A spinning sentry, watching down,
On jewelry stored below.
Again is music box wound up,
So tune can play out loud.
The tiny dance of Poogle form
Does draw an awestruck crowd.
As melody draws to a close,
So still does small form stand.
Evoking thoughts of arid realm,
The dream of endless sand.
A visit to Meridell, a full day of fun
Which now would end with a nap in the sun
I'd just settled down in the long grass's lap
When with the suddenness of a thunderclap
A tremendous blow sent me into the air
I felt the cool wind playing amid my hair
As my foe took my claws in a merciless grip
And pulled me into a quick tumble and flip
I tried to let go but my rival held on
As we rolled and reeled across the grassy lawn
The travelers watched from the side of the road
As we crashed with a cart and scattered the load
Lord Darigan up in his high Citadel
Peered over the edge and watched as we fell
He saw us slam into a shopkeeper's stall
And send Mortogs raining upon one and all
As if that was not already enough hassle
I saw we were heading for Meridell Castle
Our wild confrontation
Took us past the stunned guards
Over the moat, and toward the courtyard
We sailed off the drawbridge and flew at the wall
Behind us the soldiers, too startled to call
Watched me strike a window
And cling for dear life
While my round dairy foe
Who had started the strife
Fell away, a flash of yellow like the sun
Far from the grassy slope
From which it had come
I thought on my lesson as I clung to the sill:
"Never go to sleep on the Cheeseroller Hill!"
'Ere she rests surrounded,
Limestone, marble, granite
By all thy noble faces.
Out of place, out of mind
Dreams of that to come,
What has been
And what never will be.
Majestic, poised and innocent
Her eyes are hazy
Yet the dreams, so clear.
Now her time has ended
Psellia hath gone,
Yet only by stone.
The Dreamer is gone
Yet the dreams live on
Surrounded by flinty heroes.
The Cry of Attack
In the heart of all creatures,
The big and the small,
There's nothing quite like
A good war to enthrall.
The swishing of blades,
And the clinking of plate,
Turns pet upon pet,
And the weak upon great.
When the oceans are turning,
And the sky has gone black,
All the Neopets know,
It's the Cry of Attack.
And the mother and child,
Withdraw unto home,
For they know of the dangers
Of the creatures that roam.
The creatures that roam
are the targets of spite,
And the only thing now
Is to march on, and fight.
