ELEPHANTE DAY SPECIAL

The Elephante March
By Silver_spiderlilies

Sun!
Sand!
All under our feet
Green being trampled to heavy 'phante beat
Maps of dust fly in the air
A trumpet here - a bellow there!
The sun washes the sea of round backs
Our wings aloft with joy faint-flecked!
All swing now to the right!
Our tassels gleam bright -
Feet thump and pound and gaily step!
No matter the dust brown on our laps!
We traipse in perfect harmony
Small tails in wondrous symphony!
All lift your feet - every one large
All of us on the Elephante March!

Gypsy Elephante
By Reggieman721

One cold, dark night in Haunted Woods
A traveler was lost, afraid,
And came upon a gypsy camp,
Which rested warm in hidden glade.

With lantern running low on oil,
She made for shelter in the vale.
They welcomed her and bade her sit
And warm her chilly toes and tail.

And there, upon a wooden stool,
In shadows of a wagon cart,
Sat Elephante, pink of hue,
Who gladly did a story start.

He spun a legend, cold and grim,
Of curses, pain without a cure.
He told of potions, lies, and crime,
A town caught up in horrid fear.

The Elephante did wink and smile,
And with his yellow eyes aglow,
He painted scenes from distant past,
And told the bitter Tale of Woe.

And then, concluding with a sly
Expression of a secret smile,
The gypsy Elephante did bid,
The traveler a fond goodbye.

With final warning and a wink,
He vanished twixt the lonely trees.
His memory a distant breath
Upon the chilly evening breeze.

The Lonely Elephante
By Anjie

In Solitude, alone he sits,
Atop a barren hill.
Eyes do shimmer, tears shall brim,
And slowly, fall and spill.
Keemif's tale is one of woe,
An Elephante, alone.
Sorrow based on loneliness,
Was all he's ever known.

The legend captures many ears,
All cling to hear it told.
Keemif and his lonely life,
A myth that won't get old.
His village lay in ruined wreck,
With nowhere left to go.
The tiny wings hung in defeat,
His massive ears drooped low.

With the turn of every page,
The story carries on.
Would the Elephante find friends,
A place he could belong?
The cover of this much loved tome
Is always slightly worn.
Read a million times by all,
A tale so forlorn.

How the heart of one so large,
Could seem to break in two.
His tone was bathed in shadow brush,
And yet his soul was blue.
How did the Elephante go on,
Escape the woe and dread?
To learn the facts of Keemif's life,
His tale must be read!

Elephante Signs
By Nardia

There never was no other
As elegant as her
With her angel wings and graceful trunk
Soft skin instead of fur

She could step instead of stomp
With beauty, poise and grace
For never was there an Elephante
That didn't know her place

What place is that, I hear you ask...
Well, let me tell you this
An Elephante is a special breed
You'll never hear one hiss

So special is the Elephante
Can't you see the signs?
They're born with angel wings
And the most beautiful big eyes...

So next time you see her passing by
As she elegantly makes her way
From Tyrannia through Faerieland
Stop and say g'day.

And then you too will come to know
How lovely she is and more
She's an Elephante with manners
An example for us all.

Elegante Elephante
By Geneames1

Elegant Elephante, Ellie by name
Known far and wide for her dancing
Fashion and Ballet are her claims to fame
Often seen in a Pink Tutu, prancing

To ready herself for her daily recital
She chooses each costume with care
She knows that the proper attire is vital
To carry her Show off with flair

As soon as she's ready the curtain ascends
And on to the stage Ellie flies
Pirouettes, lunges and Sisonnes abound
"So beautiful!" everyone cries

When she has finished her last Arabesque
She curtsies and exits, stage right
A vision of beauty in Spandex and Tulle
In her ballet, "The Elephante's Flight."

Oh, Elegante Elephante, please dance with me
You curtsy and I'll bow politely
We'll dance in the moonlight,
And amaze all who see
An Elephante treading so lightly!
