GRUNDO DAY SPECIAL
The Cave of the Spider Grundo
In a cave so dank and dreary,
With smells of moss and mould.
A terror lurks in darkness,
Memories of ages old.
What lies here in the shadows,
Waiting in the dark unknown?
An experiment gone wrong, some said;
A mutated Grundo figure grown.
Most say the cave's inhabitant,
Never ventures near the sun.
Instead prefers its solitude,
The bright rays it does shun.
All that's been seen are 8 long legs,
And fur as black as night.
Certainly no other Grundo could,
Give passers-by such a fright.
So be wary when you're trekking,
And be cautious when you go.
Near caves hidden in shadow,
Where the sunshine fails to show.
Who are You?
One day I saw the strangest thing,
A creature on the street,
Reading The Times with rounded eyes,
Such green humungous feet!
"Who are you?" That is what I said,
"What creature you may be?
Your mouth is wide, your tongue so pink,
And greener than the sea!"
"A Grundo, friend," the creature said,
He smiled and gave a twirl,
"Surely you must know of me,
My silly little girl."
"What are those lights so huge?" I asked,
"Red and big and bright.
How do you keep them shining so?
And do they glow at night?"
The 'Grundo' laughed, "My eyes you mean,"
And then gave me a pat.
"A Grundo's eyes are red and large,
I'm sure you must know that."
"Two tubes above your head!" I cried,
"Are they for sucking food?"
The Grundo flashed an icy stare,
"Why really! That is rude!"
"These tubes are special! Young Neopet,
"Special; that is true!
"I am not dull or dressed in fur."
He sneered. "Not like you."
He went away and all was left,
Were footprints, big and wide,
Curious; I would follow them...
Instead I ran to hide.
The Fight for Freedom!
The Grundo race, enslaved, repressed,
A wish for freedom, lost, suppressed.
A tyrant ruling with iron fist,
His rule so strong, that none resist.
A shadow fallen on the past,
A horrid time that could not last.
The minions of Sloth's darkest will,
Each strange demand, they must fulfill.
A world of freedom, lost in time,
The dream of peace was one sublime.
Within Space Station's empty halls,
They run to answer Sloth's harsh calls.
A battle fought so very long,
A fight to right what once went wrong.
Sloth's armies were a mighty foe,
But courage did the good guys show.
And on that day, the war was won,
The Grundos answer now to none.
A celebration held each year,
A memory of escape from fear.
Reminding all that one must see,
It takes firm courage to be free.
Independence, such a cause,
To free the Grundos from Sloth's claws.
Dusk tumbles onto Neopian sky
Its sparkly eyes winking and wry
Velvet 'cross the horizon is draped
And the ivory moon with glitter caped
A single star a secret keeps
Teal-dusted wings do sudden sweep
Over scudding clouds all shimmery-blue
And swaying stars with saffron hue
Two fingers snap in cheery glee
And turquoise eyes they shimmy free
Those dark-tipped wings they dazzle bright
While swooping curved in floaty flight
The figure warbles in playful pout
Peeping gaily from behind a cloud
And flits and flutters to and fro
On sky's trapeze amongst starry glow
When dawn arrives with beauteous bloom
And sunlight plays on heaven's loom
The figure bursts in mirthful flight
The Faerie Grundo of the night
Be calm, don't wail
Come join me in jail
These patterns are following lilt
Made best with my homemade silk
Here take this spot beside me
Comfy? Good, you cannot flee
This is designed to fit your anatomy
Your every bend fits like a key
It's a sticky substance that I cannot clarify
But like a bug in a trap - you are the fly
And I, the hungry spider aware
Of who attempts to pass my lair
You should now feel weak
And I'm ready to eat
Being the star-crossed soul who hasn't been fed
But awaits the food of that stuck in my web
Now that you are fit in secure
And now that you've fallen for my lure
Let me tell you on how I came to be
This Spider Grundo who's of all but glee
I used to be typical, stern and of high charm
But met up with this guy
Who caused nothing but harm
And though I was poised I was filled with glum
To see what I hid was what I had become
Now my charisma was high at that time
And I acted as a model,
And my moves were sublime
But eventually this had all that ended
And I had become officially offended
And now look at me with my claws and my jaws
With my multiple eyes and my devious lies
And here spinning webs like a spinster does
And I be loving no one for nobody loves
The Spider Grundo which is now my name
I'll hang my head low with all sorts of shame
But watch out Neopia, for I am not tame
And catching you up is just part of the game!
