MEERCA DAY SPECIAL

Chasing Neggs
By 0_v

Be still, oh beating of my heart!
I know the game's about to start...
My mind and hands begin to race
to one more game of Meerca Chase!

I just can see the first Negg now
as sweat beads on my fevered brow.
I twist and turn, I chart my path,
my Meerca gives a little laugh.

He eats that Negg with boundless glee,
then every new Negg he can see;
but he finds out some Neggs are red,
one single bite, and he'll be dead.

More and more Neggs! Bite, chew, munch!
Yum, what a scrumptious Meerca lunch!
but, as every good Neopian knows,
a Meerca's tail grows, grows and grows!

Now danger lurks on every side--
so much with which he can collide--
red Neggs, his tail, even the wall,
touch just one and lose it all.

He spots a fish Negg on the right,
(every Meerca's true delight)
he eats it, but, too late to turn,
he hits a wall -- boom! Crash! Burn!

I may not have the highest score
and small rewards may keep me poor
but this one game I have to play...
I'll try again another day!

The Dangerous Duo
By Anjie

Chain and lock the treasure chest,
For burglars, be aware!
Not one thief dwells in the night,
Much worse, a Meerca pair.

Brothers bound by darkest deeds,
A reputation, bleak.
Heermeedjet's a thief, they say.
In shadowed night, he'll sneak.

Meerouladen is by his side,
A sack held tight in paw.
Valuables are snatched away,
They walk beyond the law.

Betrayers of an ancient king,
A crown fell to their hands.
Why deadly double are not caged,
Not one soul understands.

Two beasts for the price of one,
A double trouble deal!
Everything that's not locked down,
They'll plunder, snatch and steal.

Tales abound of wicked two,
They tell of horrid deeds.
Evil locked in Meerca form,
The point that one concedes.

A golden coin is slipped away,
By those of ill repute.
Villains bounce into the night,
To huddle with their loot.

The Meerca Brothers, on the prowl,
For theft, they have a flare.
Not one villain in this clan,
These thieves work as a pair!

Chuffer Bob the Meerca
By Openvoid

Bulging belly overflows
Beneath his leather belt.
He coolly gazes down his nose
At the hand that he was dealt.

He adds a notch for wanton weight
And each meaty pot pie.
Health food he does truly hate
For frump soup he did vie.

His food is set on playing table
Which he is glad to share.
To concentrate he is unable
For, hungriness, he cannot bear.

Although he may not be the best
In tournament or rank
He holds more cunning than the rest
From bouncing tail to flank.

The Meerca Brothers
By Schefflera

You may have heard of Heermeedjet,
And too of Merouladin;
Not the brightest thieves you get,
They often end up sodden.

The red-capped one is Heermeedjet,
And will be wearing goggles;
The handsome one (so he would bet)
In blue is Merouladin.

They're often thought a minor threat,
Though doing something stupid
May lead to more destruction yet
Than careful plans and dupin'.

They've tried to see what they could get
By working with vile Malkus,
But later struck out, Neopets
Alone to try and balk us.

They've tried to see what they could get
By playing at bank robbers
But they got caught up in a net;
Uzarro walked with gobbers.

They've tried to see what they could get
By sneaking in Qasala,
But all the statues touched would let
Them fall into a hollow.

They've tried to see what they could get
As fighters or as plumbers --
In Battledome you'll find them wet,
And fighting with all comers!

The Mutant Meerca
By Silver_spiderlilies

Legend speaks of a heinous creature
That stalks the earth in dead of night
Evil drapes its hideous features
Its single eye shuns limpid light

It stalks on seeming-glossy tail
This repulsive minion of sly Sloth
And with black maw utters strangled wail
A fiery frightful gasping broth

It catches you with brash red stare
Its curved claws flexing with dark intent
Never-wavering is the hellish glare
For death in its purplish form is pent

They say it rarely rears its head;
Hardly ever leaves its lair
But when it does, be filled with dread
For the Mutant Meerca not one will spare

On the eighteenth of the Month of Hiding
The Mutant Meerca slinks again
On a rotten darkish cloud, riding
Seeking to slash infernal pain

So blest the pet that is to spot,
On a deathly-quiet skeletal night
The fume-swathed Meerca with eyes hot
And fall forever in ghastly fright
