BRIGHTVALE DAY SPECIAL
From the Mists
Wandering in this windy forest,
I pass a tree and pause,
I run my fingers along the bark,
It catches in my claws.
I brush a trailing willow branch,
A bee floats near my head,
I see some flickering light nearby,
In a glowing sea of red.
I approach in curiosity,
What is this that I see?
Pushing through the thick branches,
A valley faces me.
It's misty and mysterious,
I pause 'fore going down,
A strange bird gives a warning call,
It's a chilling creepy sound.
The mists dwindle as I sink down,
And among the grasses green,
A tiny village lies nearby,
A hidden, golden scene.
The red sun sinking lower
Is what caused my fiery glimpse
Of a tiny, shining haven,
Lifted up by sparkling nymphs.
Fields of berries lie nearby,
With farmers bent in tending,
They rise and greet me quite warmly,
And take a pause from weeding.
I spend my night among them,
They're cheery and serene,
I never want to leave again,
It's as good as any dream.
But I must report this sighting,
I must bring them all the tale
Of my wondrous new discovery:
The Village of Brightvale!
Keep Thy Vigil, Oh, Brightvale
Sweet, sweet castle with flags so proud
Untainted by battles and quarrels so loud
Waters so fresh, sweet, and sure
Clouds so white, soft, and pure
Your plains so gentle, your meadows so fair
With crops in abundance, plenty to share
Villages so cheerful and people so free
How can one go and turn from thee?
But I must pick up yon bag and take my leave
And wipe bitter tears upon my sleeve
Cast my eyes upon a long road
And bid farewell to the place I call home
But a vigil, oh Brightvale, for me please keep!
And sing me sweet songs as I do weep
As I go, watch me from your towers tall
And listen carefully for my call
Will it be a whistle, oh Brightvale, or a song?
Or perhaps a harp's melody played strong?
But I will return sweet country, sweet home
Not forever will my spirit roam
A promise is a promise do not deny
Though my return is not nigh
But I pray thee sweet castle
Through storm and gale
Keep thy vigil, oh, Brightvale
The Resplendent Kingdom
Dawn bursts with glitzy shades
Sunrays smile through leafy glades
And dance on flags at fair parades
Twinkling through sparkling stained glass
And kissing gently silver grass
It beams bright on Brightvale brass
Awake! The Kingdom is awake
And soft-crust buns in ovens bake
While Furangas hang on splintered stakes
The Palace glows with busy drone
King Hagan reads 'top burnished throne
From dusty knurled beaten tomes
The emerald Draik spins on golden heel
Beside gem-spangled lustrous wheel
That's sweet luxurious to the feel
Pages turn in Kingdom wise
Full of Faerie-kissed surprise
And scrolls bathed in gold Sunrise
Below the pebbled bridges falls
Rivulets leap in shining waltz
A fluid dance in river halls
And in the branches of lush trees
Psellia whispers among the leaves
Praises of Brightvale's histories
For where would we be without Brightvale grand
Where peasants feast hand in hand
The Wise, the Earthy, Resplendent land
The Light of Brightvale
Viridian, the sprawling field,
Within a haven dwells concealed.
A stronghold hidden, soft, serene,
Its castle rests in lands of green.
The Brightvale banners hang with pride,
For here such wisdom does reside.
Enlightened Monarch holds the throne,
To him are ancient wisdoms known.
For here within this tranquil land,
All seek to learn, to understand.
An observation, so astute,
That learning is a fine pursuit.
Within this hideaway we find,
That sleepy paths do twist and wind.
They guide those who would wander near,
And seek to learn from what dwells here.
Brightvale a beacon, shining strong,
Where wisdom seekers do belong.
Hagan's land doth call to all,
The whispers of this place enthrall.
A Kingdom green in distant land,
Its crowning light, a castle, grand.
It's here that knowledge doth ignite,
The flame of wisdom, Brightvale's light.
Brightvale Armour, Wares to Wear
Come in, come in, my lady!
Come in, my fine dear sir!
Come in and buy my wares to wear,
If you've wit to discern
That metal bright and bulky
May protect you from a sword,
But finely tailored clothing
Just as well, and with a swirl!
With speed of body, speed of wit
And magic past compare,
I've woven up these robes and cloaks
And tunics for your care.
They leave you free and graceful,
And with fashionable flair,
Protect from light and water,
Fire and darkness, earth and air.
From elegantly simple
To exotic and ornate,
From a crisp and close-fit tunic
To a floating flowing cape,
From summer weight to winter,
And from criminal to great,
You'll be both safe and stylish
From your knees up to your nape.
