KIKO DAY SPECIAL
The Kiko Explorer
To special few the ocean beckons,
A whispered, gentle call.
The lucky ones are drawn so near,
Whilst others aren't at all.
One Kiko knew from moments early,
His life spent near the sea.
Its depths uncharted and always moving,
Waves running wild and free.
As he grew, his curiosity roused,
What wonders await keen eyes?
What treasures lay hidden under deep blue,
What wonders to greet with surprise!
He has gone on wanderings a-plenty,
Witnessed treasures, small and great.
This Kiko moves around quite often,
As adventure can never wait!
It seems his fate is sealed for him,
As he walks his path alone.
For few cope well with exploring life,
And his home is the great unknown.
The Water Glave
No one knows too much of Kikos
Or legends they may have,
But I know one that Kikos love
And call the Water Glave!
The Water Glave's one master is
the Faerie of the Water,
She was the heart of all the seas!
She was the Ocean's Daughter!
This staff was much too powerful
For creatures of our own
So the Water Faerie held it in
The hands of hers, alone.
All did love the Water Glave
And its marvelous deeds.
It kept the waters calm and warm
For all the Kiko's needs.
But one adventurous Kiko
Was completely out of mind.
"I will retrieve this Water Glave
And call its powers mine!
I'll keep the ocean's waters calm!
I'll keep the seas' so warm!
I'll be the one to keep the Kikos
Safe from every storm!"
Although these all were deeds of good,
Glory was his desire.
He wished for all to bow to him
As fast as catching fire!
Great endeavours did he pass
To find this new found glory
For on his way, all he could think
Was all knowing his story.
Alas, he reached the Hidden Hall
In which the glave was kept.
He ran so quickly down the hall
As tears of joy were wept.
And once he touched the Water Glave
All waters tore apart!
For one thing that he did not have
Was a pure and loving heart.
The Water Faerie then appeared
And was frightened near to death!
The sea so calm and so serene
Had now had its last breath.
She looked at him and cast a spell
"Returneth now to me!"
And the Water Glave swept from his hand
And retreated with much glee.
The Kiko bowed in apology.
"I'm sorry, my dear lady!
All I wanted was to be adored,
But now all the waters hate me."
As kind and as dear loving she was,
She accepted his dear plea.
She commanded for the dark to leave
And set the ocean free.
She then hid the Water Glave away,
And not a soul does know
Just where the Faerie hid the glave
From all waters and so.
Once a year, Kikos celebrate
The calm waters they have.
For they do owe it to the Faerie
And her great Water Glave.
My Trip To Kiko Lake
Shimmering waters of purest blue;
formed in the volcanoes' wake.
A wonderous place of fun and laughter,
and it's called Kiko Lake.
I went there on vacation,
not so long ago.
I was eager to see its mysteries
in the home of the Kiko.
The glass bottomed boat tour was my first stop,
and we floated above the underwater city.
My breath caught in my throat.
I had never seen anything so pretty.
I just couldn't stay in the boat.
I had to go to the city in the deep.
Without warning the other passengers,
into the water I did leap.
As soon as I jumped out,
purely on a foolish whim,
I remembered something that I had forgotten -
I didn't know how to swim!
The Kiko's Bandage
Why do you wear that bandage friend?
I asked the other day.
Does it make you feel important,
Did you get injured in a fray?
The Kiko turned his head to me
And smiled a little grin.
"It's a secret, I'll never tell,
I wouldn't even know where to begin.
"It could have come from getting bumped
Or playing much to hard.
It could be a form of fashion,
Or from a falling glass shard.
"It could be covering a nasty bruise,
Or a birthmark, or a scar.
It could be hiding a hairy mole,
Or skin not up to par.
"But you see friend, I'm not telling,"
The Kiko said to me.
For all us Kikos wear them,
And it will stay a mystery.
Moonlight on Kiko Lake
Escaping moonbeams filter down,
They scatter, then entwine.
Silken seems the pallid glow,
On Kiko Lake, they shine.
Within the nightfall tiny Lake,
Becomes a realm serene.
The daylight brings this place to life,
And shows a merry scene.
Small Kikos play in waters cool,
They race, or just lay back.
The Treat Store lingers just nearby,
It serves a tasty snack!
Upon the lapping, cobalt blue,
So rocks a massive boat.
Glass beneath its gleaming form,
It drifts on waves, afloat.
The stall of carpentry is near,
For those who come and browse.
Pick an item to take home,
If bank balance allows!
Inner tubes of colors bright
Do race past, just nearby.
Kikos squealing with delight,
As on the waves, they fly.
This haven shines beneath the sun,
A playground built for all.
The Kiko folk do linger here,
Until the night doth fall.
With the dip of setting gold,
The light shall wane and creep.
Moonlight comes to Kiko Lake,
Alas, all are asleep!
