KAU DAY SPECIAL

The Kau's Pasture of Seasons
By x0xrestrictedx0x

Fields of gold, I am told,
Are to a Kau a home.
In autumn days the grass turns gold,
Trees showering the pasture with leaves,
Falling from the trees in silent song.
Fields of white, shining in the night,
Are to a Kau a home.
In winter days the air turns cold,
Snowflakes sprinkling the ground like cold sugar.
The sky is free from thunder.
Fields of green, the Kau has seen,
Are to a Kau a home.
In spring days the warmth comes,
And this makes the Kau begin to hum.
Our little Kau has a green thumb!
Fields of rainbow, I am told,
Are to a Kau a home.
In summer days the heat comes on,
The flowers in bloom.
But do not worry of the heat,
Mild Autumn is coming soon!

The Kau Meadow
By Anjie

Gossamer, the lifting mist,
A meadow, cast in haze.
Emerald blades so tipped with dew,
A perfect place to graze.
Dainty hooves of ebon tint,
Placed softly on damp grass.
Eternity to contemplate,
The clouds that drift and pass.

Soft gaze framed by lashes long,
In bliss, the Kau doth dwell.
Light jingle, jangle in the wind,
Around her neck, gold bell.
Hectic markings dot her coat,
Wild patterns, so it seems.
And yet her eyes are glossed in thought,
Indulging merry dreams.

Sprawling are the endless fields,
A haven, all her own.
Here a Kau can dream in peace,
Beneath sun's golden tone.
Kau Meadows is a realm serene,
She'll answer here to none.
Lifted high are shining horns,
A tribute to the Sun.

Dappled light does trace her coat,
She'll dwell here 'till light fades.
Lost in world of emerald tones,
A feast in grassy blades.
As night falls she'll wander off,
Content with sleepy yawn.
To dream of Meadow filled with green,
Awash with light of dawn.

Kalora the Kau
By Strawberry_bec

Roll up, roll up for a game of Cheat.
Kalora the Kau is the player to beat.
Looking the part by wearing a visor,
Kalora the Kau is all the wiser.

Is she cheating? Who can tell?
She simply plays the game too well.
She plays a six, but is that true?
Kalora has managed to swindle you.

Keep on trying to look for a bluff.
This Kalora sure is tough.
Can she be beaten? No one knows.
Kalora's a nemesis for her foes.

When Kalora plays a ten,
You call out "Cheat!" You're wrong again.
Next turn Kalora plays two threes,
And again she's won the game with ease

She's cheered by the crowd, she loves her fame.
Will she ever let anyone win a game?
Come back and play again if you choose,
Only time will tell if you win... or lose.

Interrupting Kau
By Silent_snow

The children all are laughing--
You know something is wrong.
You know the game they're playing,
You hope it won't take long.

They urge one pet before them,
A Kau of purple coat.
He proudly ambles forward,
And loudly clears his throat.

"Knock Knock," he fires at you,
"Who's there?" you soon reply.
He whispers the words, giggling,
Your eyes roll towards the sky.

You know what he's expecting,
The others now watch, too.
With a sigh, you say your part--
But all you hear is "MOO!"

Stressed Quest
By Chatmax

Over sweeping meadows,
Under the rickety bridge,
Wanders a lonely Kau,
Known by every village.

Lonely? Not with a herd?
Isn't that odd?
You would think
This Kau was a fraud!

"Well, then, who is he?" you marvel again.
"And why would he meander so?"
But Lonely Kau merely grumbles,
"Oh, it's just this dream I follow!"

Directed by a nagging instinct,
Chasing after a fickle whim,
But day after day without success?
Renders hopes grimmer than grim.

All for one grazing pasture
Of which any Kau should dream
Rolling fields of vibrant flora
Where trickle joyous streams!

Dew sparkling like diamonds
On a plot of grass with do!
My, my, what a scrumptious meal--
Oh! Ah! If only someone knew!

Will it be here?
Or will it be there?
No one knows--
It could be anywhere!

Week by week,
Month by month,
The narrowest ravines,
The widest canyons -- have none.

Finally, Kau Day arrives,
And nothing proves the same.
Discovery of one such site
Swaths the now merry Kau with fame!

Hidden in Meridell Valley,
Kissed by both sun and moon,
Sprawls a countryside of emerald,
Enough to make you swoon!

Well, surely you can guess the rest--
What more is there to say?
The end,
And have a dreamy Kau Day!
