Sunset Kougra
By Lostaquarium

Across the sunset plains I see
A Kougra looking back at me,
Its tensioned muscles statue-still...
It's ready for another kill.

Despite my fear I feel a pull,
Its patterned fur's so beautiful,
Aglow beneath the setting sun,
I cannot even think to run.

I wish, I yearn, to touch that coat,
Upon those fiery eyes to dote,
And maybe by its side to lie,
I would not even mind to die.

In silence it approaches now,
(I cannot move - I know not how)
With deadly steps so full of grace,
And hunger on its lovely face.

Unbid, my fingers reach towards
Its head with teeth as sharp as swords...
But how can such a beauty harm?
A tongue now licks my frightened palm.

With joy I rest my hands upon
Its gentle back. My fear is gone.
And thus we walked, my friend and I
Beneath the rose-red sunset sky.

Sophie's Brew
By Natasha_nguyen

Fire burns in tiny turret
Crackling under bubbling stew
Shadows leaping against stocked herbs
Sophie works on her foul brew.

Fire burns in tiny turret
Meowclops dances all around
Perhaps if the wand does not come
A tidbit will fall to the ground.

Fire burns in tiny turret
Sophie cackles in her evil way
Once she completes her newest potion
Never again will things be okay.

Fire burns in tiny turret
Flickering in eyes of green
Her fingers move in dark spells
Face glistens with sweaty sheen.

Fire burns in tiny turret
Trapped eyes shine out of corner's gloom
For all they know, and they do
The cauldron contains Neopia's doom.

Oh Altador!
By 777lehuanani

Oh Altador! So brave and bold.
What mysteries does your past hold?
What secrets that are yet untold?

How could one so young and bright,
Fall into the darkest of night?
And from just one take great flight?

Why does the once sunlit skies,
Which within even the tamest of bird flies,
Now looks upon her beloved city and cries?

How could lush gardens and golden halls,
And lavish and extravagant balls,
Be reduced to closely shielded walls?

How can Altador with all her might,
Quail when faced with her dreaded sight,
Of a figure clad in absence of light?

Could gallant ships with carefree sails,
Who owned the seas with all their tales,
Be surrendered, brave heart fails?

Why does lightning and rolling thunder,
And white crested waves tossing asunder,
Cause you to dread instead of to wonder?

Can it be that she fell from such a height?
To think of before, the pain does bite.
To regain what was lost, there must be a fight.

What made the strong knight quake in fear?
And caused the maiden to shed a tear,
For fear of harm to those held dear?

How could they know, that the one they did trust,
After all they gave, for more would lust?
'Tis hard to live with, yet go on they must.

Can anyone cure her of her plight?
The answer is soon, but not near quite,
For first the wrong must be undone and made right.

Evening Falls on Altador
By Anjie

Scattered is the dark twilight,
On Harbor's shadowed shore
The waters rhythm chants so soft,
Aloft do seabirds soar.

Altador on hills above,
Within the waters view.
Timeless city, perched up high,
Above the harbor blue.

As if in slumber do boats rock
To timeless ocean song.
Moon illuminates the shore,
Its beams aglow and long.

Rapid quiver of such sheen,
Below the glassy tide.
Fish of gentle colors move,
And on the currant, ride.

Heavy is the silver sphere,
The sky like silken shroud.
Lingering, the faintest light,
So filtered through each cloud.

Evening sets on Altador,
And quarry down below.
Yet the ocean's still alive,
Beneath the moonlit glow.

Lair of the Beast
By Sheep_416

Past the giant omelette
Through Tyrannian Plateau,
Lays the lair of a beast,
Where few will dare to go.

Rumour has it, in these caves
That lies in patient wake;
A strange and evil beast does rest,
A shrilling shriek it makes.

Tell the stones to hush their voice
'Less tell your whereabouts,
Deeply breath to calm your fears
And bury deep your doubts.

Adventurers for years to come
Will speak your valiant tale,
Of how you conquered Beast and Lair
And overall prevailed.

After trecks you reach the cave
Wherein the monster steals,
Pluck up courage you can't loose
Or become his next meal!

Now here, the Lair of the beast
Where few will dare to go,
Turn your heel and run away -
And no one needs to know...
