HISSI DAY SPECIAL
An evil serpent lives far away,
but comes out of his swamp
only for today.
His fangs so sharp,
and wings so long.
A noxious gas can
be seen from afar.
Out of the heath
he does come,
to proclaim to all
The first Hissi Day
is now upon us.
It's time to celebrate,
and show how much we care.
"I may be evil,
but for this one day.
I will not hurt anyone,
no one will become my prey."
Stacked upon a wooden shelf,
So sits a book, all bound.
Revealing is this Hissi tome,
Within it, secrets found.
What have the Hissi clan not told?
What mystery do they hide?
Serpent tales and other tricks,
Are hidden deep inside.
Page on page of whispered words,
Until now, not revealed.
Things that Hissi folk don't tell,
Within each page, concealed.
Is it how they seem to fly?
Or when they got their wings?
Is it lists of favorite foods,
And other basic things?
Will this volume shock us all?
Is scandal right ahead?
Will the Hissi truths be told,
Once this new book is read?
Will it explain the sound they make?
Or how some are like ice?
To know all things a Hissi knows,
Now that sure would be nice.
How many times can body coil?
And how long is the tail?
Only Hissi Secrets knows,
The truth it shall unveil!
The Hidden Hissi
Games are tricky, games are fun.
Some games are good for everyone!
This game is played out in the sun,
And is just waiting to be won.
What is a game that we all know?
A competition, ready to go.
Your face, you see, is not to show.
And Hissi are your biggest foe.
A game that is called hide and seek,
A game that is not for the meek.
A game where you should take a peek,
Your eyesight must not be too weak!
Sneak behind a tree trunk wide,
Your patience, it must wait and tide.
And when you find a place to hide,
You can await your win with pride!
So why are Hissi great at this?
I wonder what their secret is!
All I know is they never miss,
And when they win, they give a hiss!
As clouds amass in skies above
And dread spread overland,
Clap of thunder, a sudden burst,
Shocks the still grim air.
Listless fog drifts carelessly
In the midst of gloom,
Aura thick with villainy
Permeates this home.
Sadly, the Darigan minion sighs,
His purple wings a-droop,
A life upon the citadel
Is boring, lonesome too.
Once he was a farmer, free,
Tending to lush crops,
Hissing rather viciously
To pests which ate his corn.
Yet for reasons now long lost
In hazy memories thin,
He pledged allegiance to Darigan,
And has lived a labourer's life since.
Who knew that minions, in peacetime,
Do nothing much more than laze?
Perhaps if he had stayed in Meridell,
More exciting would be his days.
I saw a Hissi pass my way,
A frosty exterior he did portray,
He slid past without a delay,
What could be up this fine Hissi Day?
The Hissi was sliming, slithering,
He was squirming, writhing, wriggling.
I saw a Hissi looking mad,
Looking angry and looking sad,
Wearing a frown that was oh so bad,
Why was this Hissi not glad?
The Hissi was frowning, scowling,
He was glaring, glowering, grimacing.
I saw a Hissi crying tears,
As if running from his greatest fears,
Full of misery, not of cheers,
Is this Hissi as sad as it appears?
The Hissi was crying, snivelling,
He was weeping, wailing, howling.
I saw a Hissi and asked "What's wrong?
You've been crying all day long!"
He said as he glided along,
"I just feel as if I don't belong!"
I found some friends for the Hissi to meet,
Neopets playing next to the street,
The Chia was so wonderfully sweet,
As her and the Hissi began to greet.
The Hissi was playing, laughing,
He was skipping, jumping... happy!
