A Maraquan Ballad
By Songful

In tragic tales the lands were lost
The rich seas swept away;
From waters sprung a mellow tune
And rippled in dismay.

But came again the days of light
In battles surely fought;
And life from then began anew
Midst oceans glory-wrought.

And in the triumph of victory
Great paths yet more were made;
In golden conquest of success
Fresh thoughts were overlaid.

The seas awoke from saddened sleep
And rose in bracing ring;
The moment forth, of zealous joy
New stories now of sing.

Hiding Amongst the Clouds
By Chimeraii

Shining in the dewy morn
A flutter of wings, a breeze
With skin that glows like golden corn
And eyes that shine like seas.

Sunshine, warming, graces her wings
Whilst the sky breaks forth in light
The dawn arises whilst the Pteri sings
She launches into flight.

Fluttering, gliding, she soars the sky
Bursting with joy and love
Singing her happiness, rising ever high
Then settling in her cove.

In tendrils of mist, she's lying low
A giggle, a flap, she's covered
In bright white clouds, as pure as snow
There she silently hovered.

Rise of the Darkest Faerie
By Natasha_nguyen

On the other side of the world
Through verdant forest and oceans blue
A kingdom flourishes in the mist
And a dark prophecy does come true.

Deep in the water does arise
A deceitful being made of lies
Darkness clouds her hardened heart
Full of strength to rip souls apart.

Yet trapped she is, by magic strong
Her slumber having been deep and long
Imprisoned beneath the ocean's crests
Where she restlessly but forcedly rests.

Then the orb's magic shall not be
The evil spirit shall break free
Rubble shall decorate the watery glen
And the Darkest Faerie shall rise again!

Altador
By Flutterflies

Were you once
More than faces set in stone?
Did your hearts drum
And your eyes smile?
Did you hurt and did your tears fall?

As you stand in your circle of twelve,
What makes you worthy
Of the claim to a hero?
What secrets lie hidden
In your unburied graves?

Altador, the crown and king
Where were you
When your kingdom failed?
Hero of heroes and warden of justice
Your people call to you.

Protector, it is you we seek
Your enchantments are spent
Your magic once guided us
Have you forgotten those you defend?
Or have you need of protection too?

Siyana of light, dear faerie
Your courage once saved us
Your light our salvation
Why is your form enshrouded in darkness?
Why do you stand in a fortress of stone?

Sly thief Kelland, the people's friend
We, the poor are in need of you
You were once a light in darkness
Have you returned to shadows?
Has your soul been stolen?

Florin the simple farmer
You saved our crops, fed our children
Now your frozen shape
Stands in the circle of stone
Why have you abandoned your harvest?

Gladiator, Torakor the mighty
Once you lifted your arm for us
Once you fought our battles
Has your sword turned against you?
Have you been defeated?

Dance, lovely Sasha
You danced to the stars
You danced to winds
As they destroyed our homes
Will you dance for us once more?

Taxman Gordos, the collector
You returned to us our lives
You returned to us our gold
Gordos, your morals were clean
Are they now? Is your conscience whole?

Psellia, Dreamer, will you wake?
Are you trapped within that shell
Or simply in another dream?
Give to us one of your illusions
Save us from our dying city.

The Gatherer, Fauna
What do you collect?
Will you, when your city's crumbling
Save us or your own collections?
Gather for us, our heroes twelve.

Marak, the leader of the Wave
Help, your guidance is needed
You once brewed peace from war
You once made friends from fiends
Will you lead us in our plight?

Sleeper, are you a villain?
Darkest, there is light in you yet
For you saved the king and ruler
Can you not for his people?
Evil is not everlasting.

Were you once
More than silent statues
Did you heed our calls
Our pleads for help?
Hear us again, aid us

Our city is crumbling,
Its wonders are trapped
Our heroes are missing
Our futures bleak
We seek the one who betrayed us all.

Tyrannian Summer
By Darkxs3

My fickle purple pet and I,
This summer to be in great anticipation,
Find folly and good will at flight in the fields
That roll with such royal grace in the deep hills
Of Tyrannia, where war once roamed free.

Slippery edges, eroded by the April rain,
Tease the soft grip of my lazy feet
While my winged purple friend with great ease
Dangles about to and fro with the coarse wind
Brought in with the sunshine to enlighten.

Alas, to reflect upon the sorrows wrought
Upon this glorious sinking and rising land
Where great Eyries hunt Miamice from above
And the Lupes prepare for yet another war to be
With the coming of the great summer sun.

I, quite simple, quite humble,
Find time for little but to gaze into the hillside
And dream of plucking daffodils and singing
Praises to the vast wonder of Neopian labor
That has allowed me to retire to these greens.

My pet grows weary of mocking my fumbling
And spells out in spiral a silly tale.
We dart between the airborne leaflets
And spritely tip our heads toward the zenith
To welcome early the mighty summer moon.
