GREY DAY SPECIAL

Fallen
By Verilyfaerily

From the tower high I fell so far,
Broken bones on barren earth,
My face and hands saturated
With this unfamiliar dirt.

From barren land to starkest cage
I was forced to be confined,
Alone with lock that bore my name,
Here alone till end of time.

Days and nights were all the same,
Darkened sky or blazing heat,
No respite from suffering,
Not even into restful sleep.

Till the day my rescuer came
To my hidden holding place,
Brought by some divine providence
To read the pain smeared in my face.

Tavi her name, a mountain climber,
Bearing bags upon her back,
Told the lock it had three guesses
To find out what's in her pack.

The little lock did not get one
For before it could make its choice,
Tavi had solved this puzzling riddle
And with my own name rang her voice.

The lock could not escape this truth
For my name was it's own,
And all at once both Baelia's
By this wisdom were overthrown.

Myself for this greatest kindness,
Forever in Tavi's debt,
But she always cheerful simply said
For her to help me would be best.

So now we travel searching answers,
Searching out the whispers past,
Myself along with little Tavi,
Till I find my name at last.

The Grey Pet Lament
By Anjie

Tarnished with a woeful brush,
My tone a bleak display.
Pallid streaks awash my form,
I dwell in shades of Grey.

Winter bleak, my season seems,
My hour dwells near dawn.
When color wanes from midnight sky,
And all light seems withdrawn.

Misery, my state of mind,
My soul dwells just in grief.
Sorrow is my only thought,
And woe, my one belief.

Summer thoughts and happiness,
Have not graced my mind yet.
Bleaker times I lurk within,
The curse of the Grey pet.

Forlorn is my lowered gaze,
I close my eyes, I mope.
All pets dwell in happiness,
For me? There is no hope.

Fortunes do I cost to paint,
An avatar, I bring.
And so it seems that happiness
Is far from everything.

Fuzzle Puzzle
By Sheep_416

Oh sweet Grey Fuzzle,
Why's it that
I see your smiling face,
And cannot help but feel that
You're somewhat out of place?
I look at you,
Your gleaming eyes
That brighten up my day.
But surely this is rare
From a creature that is Grey?
No rainclouds follow
You about,
It's sunshine to the end!
A look of innocence that says:
"Will you come be my friend?"
And sure enough
I've picked up,
The lesson that you've taught;
It doesn't matter that you're Grey,
It's the size of your heart.

Song for the Grey Faerie
By Kublakhan27

I thought of you when I had no one to call
I was slipped up and no one acknowledged my fall
I was tripped up, I know
that some fool done me wrong
And now I lay writhing and sing you this song
My hope, grey faerie, my hope

Does this sound familiar? I hope that it does
should you hear this lament of how happy I was
I no longer fly like an Eyrie because
of betrayal that stung like a venemous buzz
My hope, grey faerie, my hope

How lonely you must be in ground-based retreat
from your own identity, one that was sweet
before it was plundered by one likely jealous
with no adulation won for being callous
My hope, grey faerie, my hope

Why did she de-wing you, a faerie so pure
and mindful of nothing but good to be sure?
I wish I could bless you as you did the same
for so many others when you had your name
My hope, grey faerie, my hope

I wish I could name you though I don't know how
I wish I could find you and dry your damp brow
I need you to hear this somehow from afar
Although I don't know you,
you must know you are
my hope, grey faerie, my hope

Grey Tears
By Brilliance109p

The stars did shine above so high,
The moon, a pendant in the sky,
Beneath the cheerful summer breeze,
A shadow slouched between the trees.

Its tail was curled like gentle waves,
Its eyes; two pools of long-lost braves,
Its ears were large, yet drooped and dull,
A Mynci was once beautiful.

He sat and sighed and thought of strife,
Was bored of play and bored of life,
He fingered words upon the sand,
He sang, accompanied by phantom band.

The Mynci shed a single tear,
His fingered words now disappear,
And now he stood, afore the sea,
And wept his tears of misery.

He gathered hope and stood upright,
He gazed into this darkest night,
His hope then dies, his friendship frays --
He does not know of joyful days.
