A True Friend By maplestarre

I am up here in this tree
Reflecting on times long ago.
Times when you fed me
And cared for me
And treated me right.
That was so long ago
That I can barely remember it.
You were my owner
I was your Usul pup
Your companion
You confided everything to me.
Because you knew I would not tell.
I had faith in you.
We trusted each other.
My only wish was to please you.
You are a true friend.

One Lonely Usul By sara_468

The swift wind rustles
The soft, green bushes.
And I stand, stand alone.
"Is anyone there?" I ask.
I sit by myself
As countless thoughts race through my Usul head.
Why is the world so lonely?
Why am I, my owner and I
All by ourselves in this cold, forlorn world?
A scared looking Blumaroo rushes by.
I give a friendly "Hi"
But he races on, staring.
Those eyes burned with such a sharp intensity
That I felt my head would split.
It took all the strength I had
In my small body to stand there,
Pretending to be oblivious
To the fact that I was hated.
Why? Why is the world so cruel?
What have I done?

A Neopian Dream Come True By poetictendency

Tossed into a cage, the key filed away,
Within these confines I had to stay.
Not much to eat, maybe a carrot or two.
How I soon longed for the Soup Faerie's stew!

I held on for a while, hoping and praying
That within this prison I wasn't staying.
Then along came a girl, so pretty and sweet.
She stopped by my cage and tossed me a treat.

Jumping around I was so enthused.
I licked her sweet hand and had her amused.
She went to the guard and took out her stash.
"Oh no," said the guard, "we don't accept cash!"

So into Neopia Brandy Lynn went,
Looking for Neopoints, if only a cent!
Collected her savings,
for she knew what she needed.
Headed back to the agency,
the guard then receded.

The key handed over, twisted in the lock.
I was finally free of this rusty cell block!
Running and jumping and hopping with glee,
I was as happy as any other Nimmo could be.

And since that day, there's been no more tears.
Brandy Lynn's helped me fight all of my fears.
I vowed to her to be her best friend yet.
I'm proud to be her only Neopet.

What Once Was Mystery Isle By mist10

A quiet, desolate place
The faint whisper of wings,
As a herd of wild Unis take flight.
They flicker steadily
In and out of the emerald treetops
And the soothing song of the waves
Sapphire blue clashing with the steel gray
Down onto the rocks below
An old Island Mystic finally finds a home
On a small boulder
Just beyond the beautiful isle
He waits for a weary wanderer to come
To stop and ask a question, a favor
But in the awsome silence
A faint sound echos faintly over the still air
From a whisper, it becomes a growl
Then an angry snarl, then a deafening screech
Shaking the mountains and trees
Sending more pets fleeing in terror
And a white speck appears on the horizon
Crawling slowy but steadily towards the island
It grows larger and larger
Till at last it hits the shore
And pets and people and luggage pile over the side
They drop onto the soft white sand
Many of them crushing a bright shell
Or kicking aside a baby seagull in their hurry
They stampede through the unsuspecting island
And when in the middle they make huts
Then go out again
And strip the island of everything it owns
Of rare artifacts and tropical fruit
And sell them
And the old Island Mystic sees what has happened
And a crystal tear falls from his saddened face
One more tear, on top of all those already shed.

Wonder By yuffiekisaragi

The snow and ice can't block out
The most beautiful scenery of Winter World.
Ice and snow and sleet and hail
Are what compose this most enchanting scenery.
The tall cliffs, the high peaks may seem a danger
But in reality, if you climb them, you can see
The entire little sweet village at your feet.
And as you look down from your vantage point
Think of this entire kingdom and its crystals of snow

Hear the beating drums and feel the tropical heat
As you float into Mystery Island
You can see the palms and white-hot sand
And feel the cool water between your hot toes
See the wild pets walking around
Wearing their precious jewels
Of precious shells and dragon's teeth.
And as you wander the seemingly endless forests
You have the freedom to think and wonder about
The beauty and peace of the strange Mystery Island.

Hold your breath and hold on tight
We're going to the amazing Underwater City
How could those Koi possibly find a way
To make their city so strangely wonderful
And make buildings underwater
Of nothing but shells and sea glass?
Travelling the depths of the deep, deep ocean
And bathing in its watery tranquility
makes you think
Of how intelligent our pets can be
And never forget this, as you can learn more.

Zoom! We're in the empty vacuum
Of the endless space
It would be completely empty,
if not for the Space Station
And the Grundos running around ceaslessly
Aliens, technology, metal around on all sides
How could you possibly love a place like this?
Walking to the window, you peer out
And gasp in awe at the wonderful sight
Of our Earth, our home and protector and the stars
Blazing in all colours you can think of, like jewels.

This place might be frightening, to this I'll agree
But in every place you can find something special
It might be dark, it might be lonely, but
Why is it as scary as this? It has been forgotten.
If it was not forgotten, would it be different?
Maybe if we all helped, even just a bit,
we could help make the Haunted Woods
a better and friendlier place.
