LENNY DAY SPECIAL
The Library is cold this night.
No single echo can one hear,
No single Neopet is in sight.
The doors are locked, the windows sealed.
But still -- there's something in that room:
A flicker of a candle's light
And in its haze a figure looms --
Someone is still awake this night.
A quill is marking down the lines
That all else had forgotten fast.
The only place where you can find
All stories of Neopia's past
Is here, between these rows of shelves
Where silence reigns both night and day
And currently just darkness dwells.
The ones who come soon go away,
Deciding that the place was dull.
There are no contests, games or fun,
Just quiet scraping of the quill.
But if you need some help and come
And ask the one who's writing there,
He always has a book to spare,
The wise Lenny Librarian.
Ode to the Faerie Lenny
The colors of evening immersed in your tail,
Shimmering all with a glorious sheen.
Colors that mold as if faeries themselves
Wove the intricate blues, the purples and greens.
Faerie beauty, with your graceful swan-neck,
Your long-bending beak, your half-lidded eyes,
Your plume graces sunset,
Your gaze graces dawn;
The blaze of your beauty competes with sunrise.
And best, in those eyes, the light of wisdom
Sparkles out with a calm steady glow.
So wise is your race, so bright is your breed,
And you know what every Lenny does know.
Foremost in thought your glory remains,
Oh wonderful blending of beauty and brains!
Wings of Freedom
A pale light grows in the horizon,
like a verse, like a chant,
it meant all that.
The wind awakes me
softly combing my feathers,
just passing by, not stopping,
racing towards new lands.
awake enough to feel the beat,
the torch, the beacon, the fire,
the freedom inside me.
I'm free to do as I please.
My wings grow high,
a smile dances in my face.
I'm free, I'm free
the words won't leave me.
The day has come, and I'm free.
Free to dance, free to feel, free to fly.
I open my wings wide.
A jump and a gust at the same time.
And there I am, gliding fast,
with the wind through the sky.
I'm free, I keep repeating to myself,
I'm free to fly, to smile, to laugh,
a free Lenny, soaring the skies.
A Sand Walker Saga
They stalk along the flaxen sands,
The guardian of barren lands.
A vicious beast of lands so dry,
A bane to those who venture by.
For in the heat of desert day,
The Sand Walkers do stalk their prey.
Those wings like massive menace spread,
Each feather warns of woe ahead.
Cerulean figure does foretell,
Which horrors in the future dwell.
A Lenny of such rage and spite,
His malice simple to ignite.
His gaze with heinous ire burns,
That blackened soul with malice churns.
A whirlwind as he strikes each blow,
His wings in frantic frenzy, flow.
A Lenny with the blackest heart,
But with defeat, he shall depart.
That native of a bleak domain,
Who treats his prey with such disdain.
He'll block the road you seek to take,
To cross his path? A bad mistake!
Between the dunes he ducks and darts,
The desert scourge lurks in these parts!
The Pirate Lenny Scout
A hat of ebony, trimmed with gold,
Peaked with feather white,
And insignia of a pirate's flag
Lie atop his mind.
Buccaneer of different sort,
This Lenny really is,
He has not eye-patch, nor wooden leg,
Nor hook where wing has been.
Cutlass and cannons touch him not,
Rough tussle he avoids,
His job on board the rover ship
Is as a scout deployed.
At his captain's sharp command:
That vessel, we attack!
This Lenny takes to the sky
With one mighty flap.
Circling from above he spies
The deck of target soon,
Honing in on where the crew
Stands guard all period through.
Thus he returns with vital boost
To aid the theft of loot,
Yet of his flight over their heads,
None ever has a clue.
