KORBAT DAY SPECIAL
A wasted strand of dying light --
The hint of shadow, reign of spite;
The rush of wind through branches bare
And scream of gale on bitter air.
The clash of battered branches sounds
Far above the dimmed wood grounds;
As still beneath the moon's pale tint --
The sigh of wings, a shadowed glint.
And yet below the sheltered veil
Where moonlight scribes an ashen trail
A figure stirs amid coarse leaves
Consumed in surge of leafy sleeves.
As bird of grace he launches high
Yet still beneath the starry sky --
Through surge of wings his flight he holds
As night's long journey still unfolds.
A Lone Korbat Amongst the Revenge
I am the beaten Korbat sailing by their greed
Who multitasks and bounds to set aside
Receiving less than requirement to meet
To fight and to immune the tides.
My wings are torn from long past scenes,
No deck here is quite serene,
And lonely sailors lost their dreams
Here upon the Revenge.
At night I fear I'll see comrades
Who were struck by another's sword
Or maybe they fainted from a fatal illness
When they rejoiced just the night before.
Although I'm loyal I'll still flinch
When seeing betrayers walk the plank
Observing them pray for and to nothing
As they clawed the surface while they sank.
One time I felt to redeem my act
From those made suffered and in distress,
But like every pirate we made our pact
And I was no less.
At my post they are the blade
But will never cut me loose,
After all I could easily fade
And cannot escape their noose.
Realizing my sudden mistake
I thought I'd fly away,
But my wings were worn by the time
Of my ending day.
Those battles were needless,
Nothing was being avenged,
And now it's too late for remorse
Here upon the Revenge.
"Up in the sky,
Oh Korbats, Oh Korbats,
Where do you fly?"
"We fly to...
Hot sandy deserts,
And oh-so-flat plains,
To warm, humid forests,
With tropical rains,
Cold, freezing poles,
With ice for the ground,
Deep blue-grey water
Rises then falls,
Oh wide expanse,
Please hear our calls!
We fly all round Neopia,
And what do we find?
We're back where we started,
But we don't mind!"
Who am I?
Deep in a dark, deserted tomb,
Or hanging around in a musty room
Of an empty, creepy, haunted house --
Who is this shadowy fleidermaus?
Flittering about, in the ladies' hair,
Ready for a laugh, or a lark, or a scare!
Pointy fangs, but he doesn't drink blood --
Feared and hated and misunderstood.
Bane of the cave Chia and the pterodactyl,
Claws and wings, always swooping and agile,
I rarely see another in the Battledome,
But when he's the house, you'd better stay HOME!
Burrower, fire-baller, life-drainer, sinker --
He'll give you fits, he can be quite a stinker!
Whether with his whip or behind a leaf shield,
He'll send you home crying before you have healed.
I'm happy to be his loyal master,
Shoot-shoot-shooting with his power blaster.
Saving my points so we can upgrade
To a Sinsis sword from his Korbat wing blade!
Delicate in figure.
Ears propped neatly on your head.
Face done up with a sweet expression,
On the surface of your head.
Arms so nicely done up with your wings,
Little body in the middle too.
Feet below you, then your tail,
All this makes you, you.
And delicate stitching along your face,
Patchwork on your wings.
Stitching following your body, wings and ears
They didn't miss a thing.
For a new pet, little Korbat.
You'd be just right for me,
I'd take you to my Neohome,
Give you a room...
You'd be forever safe with me.
