The Tale of Qasala
By Vertexsquared

It came so swiftly -- the seers did not see
The tragedy that would befall
Their magnificent city.
A magic so powerful, no fighter could fight,
The approaching darkness
That would swallow the light.

It is the land of Qasala, where evil does hide,
Destined to rekindle its dignity and pride.
The desert jewel, the flame in the void,
The tempest and all of the hopes it destroyed.

Hidden forever in ancient history,
It promised to return for its final destiny.
An exodus of the dead, that will kill without cost,
From the land of Qasala
Where the vast storm had crossed.

Glory once loomed in the depths of the desert,
Not all was as it seemed, in the land of the lost.
The land of Qasala, forever and ever,
Regretting the day
The great storm that had crossed.

Fading Stars
By B_e_n_d_i_s

Spinning, spinning, twirling out,
Sun shines hidden behind a pout,
Little, little, pretty star,
Blinking, blinking, from afar.

Clouds so purple, clouds so white,
Little Neopet out at night,
Looking up from down below,
Heaving yokes of which to tow.

Faeries, spinning, dancing, free
Across the lands of misery,
Evil, evil, glinting gold
Defeated by the hearts so bold.

Soon, soon, the night should come,
Welcome sights to desperate some,
Shooting, twirling, star of sky,
Fading, fading, with a sigh.

Vira
By Freckles136

Days of old, of long ago,
Once beautiful, once glad,
Once joyful, oh, once fair,
But one so good can yet go bad.
Days of old, of long ago,
The flowers and the fields,
The sunlight and the birds,
Never again her vision wields.
Days of old, of long ago,
Are gone as yet is she,
The fair Acara that once wished
The fairest of them all to be.
She thought it a simple whim,
A careless, vain desire,
Yet the sinful voice that heard
Could turn it to a yearning dire.
The smile played upon her lips
As she spoke her want
Was soon replaced by a scowl
Rosy cheeks by a face so gaunt.
The flowers in her sunny fields,
As she did, she kisses still,
Yet for a reason, poisoned too,
All who pick their blooms to kill.
Her mirrors are ironically cruel,
They show your face so fair,
But soon you spy an ugly ghoul
Grimacing back at you there.
Days of old, of long ago,
A pretty Acara lived
Now there's just a wicked soul
Who laments the wish that voice could give.

Saviors of Meridell
By Schefflera

Sally Usul's just a girl
(Kindly-hearted little squirrel)
Darigan's a scary thing
(Can't remember anything)

Not a likely pair of friends
(Really breaking all the trends)
She of Meridell a child
(Good girl, hardly even wild)
He a ruler once on high
(Now gone mad and rather shy)
Quite the strangest pet she's had
(Cuddly, no, but not too bad)

Found him in the corn a pest
(Now he's hers, that happens less)
Hiding him inside a barn
(Hay and dark and safe and warm)
Feed him up till he grows strong
(Parents worry something's wrong)
Dash behind the hay to wait
(See him even eat the plate!)

"Mr. Scary" he's called now
("Fluffy" to her parents though)
Lots of teeth and ragged wings
(Skittish about everything)
Secret from the village main
(Not so easy to explain)
Hard to think he was a lord
(Warrior capturing the orb)

Still when soldiers come he's brave
(Big surprise, and Sally saved)
Flies to battle Kass above
(Given up revenge for love)
Darigan's now lord once more
(Whack-a-Kass with record score)
Treaty made and work to do
(Visitors will have to shoo)

Still, he won't forget a friend
(She's one he just might let in)
Sally, too, remembers when
(Looking in the sky again)

Ghost Lupe
By Roseinfestedsoul

He's shattered and tattered
And ripped within death,
Battered not mattered,
Scarred and unkempt.

Lost in sonorous bewilderment,
Flailing for a battle never fought,
Neither contrite nor content,
Ensure of what he himself, once sought.

He hews through the empty coast
Whose air refuses to seep in his chest,
And those derailed natives he hated the most,
Who turned his life into a voiding mess.

They will see to his avenging attack,
He will see to their defeat,
And once he's done with his noble ending,
His soul will finally sleep.
