A Mysterious Visitor
By Sparkly_fairy_dust

The sun is hot, scorching hot,
A fiery flaming burning dot,
Fizzling in a cloudless sky,
Above the desert blazing high.

The sand is warm, so very warm,
Gathering for a big sand storm,
Hot to touch and dry to feel,
Making things appear unreal.

Riding over the desert so vast,
A visitor comes galloping fast,
Mounted on a spirited steed,
Travelling at increasing speed.

The visitor has an undying thirst,
That just keeps getting worse and worse,
But he mustn't stop, mustn't wait,
For at the Lost Desert he has a date.

The visitor comes to the Desert unknown,
Mysterious, strange, odd and alone,
What is next -- what's in store?
A new adventure we have to explore.

Firelight
By Laurelinden

When in darkest night
The earth seems to hold its breath
All is silent, still

And then flame-points wake
Pinprick fires burst to life
Orange flame-drops live

Two become hundreds
As they awake the others
Tiny winged creatures

And darkness, assailed
By so many candle-lights
Must flicker and yield

For now sun awakes
Brought forth by faerie-magic
To light new-born day

The Desert King
By Suzili

Coltzan was an old Lupe king,
Of him the bards now sadly sing,
The last whose realm was fair and true,
Beyond woods black and oceans blue.

His fur was grey, his mask was gold,
In him great power we behold,
A hero great, a story told,
Through him we found we're not alone.

But not long ago he passed away,
Where now his soul dwells none can say,
For doused by sleep now fell his fire,
So now the bards mourn their great sire.

Now brave was he, the Desert Lord,
His last treasures he did not hoard,
For his last wish to build a shrine,
A monument for hope to shine.

Although brave Coltzan passed away,
His noble soul is here to stay,
Beneath the dark blue desert stars,
In Sakhmet where the heroes are.

Sakhmet Haikus
By Lafee_dans_gris

The Streets of Sakhmet

Even through chaos,
A beautiful city gleams:
Latent harmony.

Mysterious Visitor

City of Sakhmet:
Beware! Through a desert storm
Blows danger unseen!

Mysterious Tablet

Oh cryptic tablet,
What mysteries do you hold?
Only time will tell.

Fortune Teller

Eccentric talents
Make unlikely heroes, won't
you show us the way?

Ode to the Lost Desert
By Wubba_tha_lop_minion

We cook our breakfast on the sand,
From Apis hide we make our rand,
We party to a merry band,
Our pride extends throughout the land;
To mighty Ra we raise our hands,
All homage to the Lost Desert!

An ailment we can easily mend,
We blindly follow any trend,
The hair of our legs we often rend,
Our land from tourists we defend,
Or let them to shop -- it depends.
All honour to the Lost Desert!

Our elders' breaths all smell of mould,
And somehow build large tombs of old,
We're all so rich the poor have gold;
Even the men have their eyes kholed,
Aakh baht! We rock (just to be bold)!

All hail to the Lost Desert!
