On silent spindly legs he creeps his steps,
His sharp black eyes alert through jungle's leaves.
No movement can escape his sharp-eyed glance;
No wind betrays his presence on the breeze.

A belt filled with his needs is on his hip;
All of Ruki Survival Tips he knows.
But most important, clenched in iron fist,
Is his much-loved armored Ruki bow.

There! Far above, a tree rustles for sure!
Up flashes his bow, aimed with steady gaze.
'Round the quarry scurries, twisting out of sight,
Vanishing into canopy, a maze.

Perhaps he will let this one get away;
Save for tomorrow what's not done today.

Ruki Day Parade

Some say the Rukis march one by one,
Others say two by two,
Three by three sounds good to me,
But no-one's quite sure which is true.

For anything goes on Ruki Day,
As I'm sure you will agree,
Watching the Rukis parade through the day
Is quite a sight to see.

Antennae twitching,
Pincers clicking,
All in harmonious fun,
This is the day that these buggy bugs,
Show Neopia how it's done!

The Ruki Prince

On the searing Desert sands,
Alone, a silent Ruki stands,
Facing the sun as it sets.

Over his shoulder hangs a bow,
In his claw a single arrow,
He will take whatever he gets.

Setting the arrow to the string,
He takes aim and lets the bow sing,
Then stands back to watch it go.

Across the sand it sails and skims,
It lands where the horizon dims,
And that way he must follow.

To Sakhmet City, come the dawn,
The Desert Ruki will be gone,
Just one more night he must wait.

Then to the Palace, once his home,
Before he left to wildly roam,
He will return to seek his fate.

Turned out of the City in disgrace,
He has not dared to show his face,
Nor return to his homeland since.

But now the time has come at last,
To put his mistakes in the past,
And welcome home the Ruki Prince.

Ruki Parade

Sunlight sparkles off their wings,
Strong thin legs carry them high.
Ruki chant a serenade,
Each and every Ruki sings
Lifting voices to the sky,
Marching in a long parade.

Flying Rukis fill the air,
Others march upon the ground.
Lines of Rukis streak the sand.
Jubilance shows everywhere!
Mirth and bliss are all around --
Never was a day so grand!

Desert winds around them blow
As they prance in celebration.
Revelers joyously cheer,
Rukis dancing, high and low,
Thus exhibit their elation.
"Ruki Day at last is here!"
