I sit her all alone
in this lonely pound,
wondering why my owner
did not want me.
I was kind, I was sweet,
and I was generous too.
Why did they not want me?
Did they not care?
Or was I just a Christmas gift,
one that is forgotten
after a day or so?
I reminisce on the days
we were together,
all the fun we use to have.
I wonder what we would be doing now,
or what delight I would be served?
Or what the Neopets out there are doing,
if they are playing or being fed?
They are lucky to have such great owners,
but I am the lucky one to still be alive,
instead of being left to perish.
I sit here all alone in the pound,
wondering why my owner did not want me.
I guess I will never know...

The glistening dewdrops,
Upon her blue wings.
She shivers through the cold.
The sunrise has shot across the sky,
Full of colors pale and bold.
They shine so brightly that all who see,
Look away in awe,
Yet also in misery.
The light has blinded very few,
But never doubt it's powers,
This shivering form,
So cold yet also,
So warm.
The warmth inside,
Will not venture forth,
The Air Faerie will always stay warm.
It may not be outside,
But in her heart.
Warmth will always live.

Thoughts of leaving dance through my head,
Like a beautiful butterfly you never can catch.
As another person is shown
Through the adoption door.
I leaped to the floor and stood there.
Maybe...just maybe...
Those big brown eyes fell on my cage.
She was ten,
At least that age.
She bent down and grabbed me.
She set me on the floor.
She told me to follow her,
And led me through the adoption door.
I was happy to the core
I had gotten my wish,
My eternal reward.
