The Catacombs
By Menena2001

Deep within The Catacombs,
Dust and cobwebs settle;
In the corners, where untold stories lurk,
They wait for brooms and dreamers...

A group of nameless Aishas
Gather 'round the flame
To tell the trails and fairytales
Once ridden, seen or dreamed...

Across the way, the Coffee Shop,
Warm and cozy with sweet scents,
I order a spironut (with cream),
And then I'm on my way again.

The Chia nearby boyishly chuckles,
"The Neopian Times is here!"
I smile, and I buy it,
And admiringly flip through its pages.

The silence is now broken,
The secret Catacombs no longer so secret,
Young'uns learning how to draw,
Silent, ancient no more...

And now its time to leave, I know,
My young Shoyru needs to be fed,
But I'll be back, I'll return...
Wth a broom for dust, and a paper and pen.
Those untold stories won't last long...

Ode to Music
By Consciousxthought

Dawns the red light, over rock,
Over the dry, harsh land.
Begins anew the typical day
In the Plateaus grand.

Suddenly, a sweet chill note
Silenced every beast.
Continuing in a melody,
The work of faeries, at least?

Nay, the music from on high,
Comes not from faerie tongue.
Pteris like joyful herald do sing,
Each one wild and young.

Odes to Joy, odes to Love,
Their songs of greatest mirth
Washes over the barren rocks
And softens the hot, hard earth.

Oh, wondrous it is to wonder how
Such loveliness can be,
When that very land is dry as bread,
And monsters roam so free.

Kelpbeard's Reminiscences
By Mystery_faerie_89

When I was just a little boy,
A tiny hatchling baby Koi,
The pirates came under the sea,
They placed a curse; caused us to flee,
They pillaged and they tore home down,
Took our wealth, destroyed our town.

When I grew up and I got older,
I grew stronger, wiser, bolder,
I became a king, King Kelpbeard,
One I thought my enemies feared.

Once Maraqua was whole again,
The pirates came to tear and rend
Down everything that I had built,
Placing on me an awful guilt.

Surface dwellers I could not trust,
For after treasure they did lust,
But to one I should have listened,
And from my royal throne descend,
Isca, Garin, both left warnings,
Of the pirates' attack pending,
Decisions made; I found myself
Wishing for their outside help.

Balthazar and the Faeries
By Cataclysmic111

Deep inside the darkened woods,
Beneath the starlit sky,
A Lupe sobbed among the leaves,
Despair weaved in his cries.

The shiv'ring babe,
Though still quite young,
Made his way through dirt and dark,
Kept going 'till he came upon
Faeries twinklin' like fire sparks.

"I'm Balthazar," he cried aloud,
Hoping for a kindly heart,
But when the faeries turned around,
He saw them grinning in the dark.

Balthazar survived the night,
But now his mind won't wander off it,
He captures faeries for revenge,
And makes a hefty profit.

Faerie Queen Quiguki
By _Flutterbyes_

Hiding behind pretty purple hair,
And an ankle length purple dress,
An ugly old Quiguki doll
Has something to confess...

She isn't really Fyora,
The pretty faerie queen,
She's just another Neopian toy,
And underneath she's green.

She has no magic powers,
And cannot set a single quest,
But if you want someone to play with,
She's definitely the best,

So if you come across her,
Don't just leave her lying there,
Take her back home with you,
Let her know how much you care.
