KOUGRA DAY SPECIAL

A Grey Kougra's Tale
By _Ashling_dreamer_

A grey Kougra sits alone in the rain,
Listening to the world pass him by,
His eyes cast downwards to the ground,
A tear forming in his sad eye.

Nothing seems to cheer him up,
Not gifts, nor food or flowers,
Not the Happiness Faerie either,
Even with her faerie powers.

Deep inside his sad little soul,
He harbours just one desire,
He'll be happy again if only, if only,
He could be painted fire.

To him it is so hopeless,
A dream that won't come true,
For how could he be painted fire
When grey is such a pretty hue?

So still he sits under his rain cloud,
Not daring to hope anymore,
Quietly watching the other pets,
His head resting on the floor...

Tale of a Mutant Kougra Plushie
By Kushbi

A mutant Kougra plushie sits
All alone on an empty shelf,
Catching dust as time goes by,
Wondering why it wouldn't sell.

Day after day it waits in hope
To leave the old dingy Toy Shop,
Yet again and again the ones that go
Are cute and sweet unlike itself.

The poor neglected plushie frowns,
Which doesn't improve its mighty scowl,
Scaring away most customers who
Turn away without a sound.

The plushie watches rain outside,
The droplets falling one by one,
But even they have company,
Forming puddles on the ground.

As sadness fills its plushie heart,
It hears the door creaking open,
And lo, behold! A Kougra comes,
Who had a transmogrification.

This mutant Kougra marvels at
The toy, with eerie resemblance,
Picks it off the creaky shelf for
Payment at the counter.

Thus the mutant Kougra plushie,
Having spent its days so lonely,
Has finally found a home to be,
Played by its look-alike with glee.

Royal Kougras
By Wild_tigerlilly85

Proud and mighty powerful,
He saunters through the town.
A cape of royal purple
And a jewel studded crown.

A silky mane falls 'round his face,
Eyes gleam with regal flare.
His sculptured limbs alone could best
A big old mutant Bear!

His smile bursts with sword-like teeth
And on his royal paws,
Amid his rings and well kempt fur,
Adorns he royal claws!

She walks enamored in beauty
And bats her star-like eyes.
Beyond her full and downy pelt
A heart of pure gold lies.

With slender tail and gentle mind
She wins adoration of all.
Caring about all that she sees,
She really is a doll!

A more beautiful creature,
Truly does not exist!
A face simply so stunning,
She could not be missed!

Neopians far and wide,
You really all must see
The magic, grace and splendor of
This Royal Family!

A Heart of Gold
By Really_awesome_d00d

The shrill warning alarm
Echoes in empty, steel-grey halls.
Warning lights of red and green
Flash high upon the walls.
Two frantic, frightened Neopets,
Who only have each other,
Bolt across the metal floor,
Gazing at one another.

And before them looms a figure
With metallic, heartless eyes,
Which seem to stare out ruthlessly,
Awaiting the demise
Of the two helpless pets before him,
They cannot run, they cannot hide,
They could never hope to beat him,
No matter how they tried.

The Kougra's ears twitch once, then twice,
As he racks his brain to find
The answer to his question:
Could he betray one of his kind?
Would he -- could he -- stop them
To gain favor of the Master
And have his flickering heart of steel
Turn to emotionless white plaster?

He holds twin weapons before them,
With grim, dismal grey eyes.
What would his mother think of him?
She would surely despise
The heartless, mindless minion
That her son had become.
To his raging instinct, or shining conscience:
To which would he succumb?

His finger twitches, his eyes glint nervously,
He cannot make a choice.
And squeaking from below him
Comes a nervous, frightened voice:

"Please, Sir, I beg of you,
Please just let us pass.
You might just think of me as rubbish,
For I am but a lass,
But beneath that cold grey armor
Is a heart that must be there.
A heart that's warm, a heart that beats,
I know that you must care."

The Kougra stands, his lips now tremble,
His grey eyes glisten wide.
And in his mind, there is no doubt,
And the Kougra steps aside.
The Cybunny beneath him smiles,
And with her friend she tears
Down the hallway, to her freedom,
And Gormos truly cares.

He cares for them. He has a heart.
A heart of shining gold.
Within his armor he feels warmth,
Which melts away the cold.
As his cold grey eyes trace them,
He manages a grin.
He now knows, that deep inside,
There is gold that glows within.

Kougra Nail Clippers
By Laurelinden

In most ways he
Was sweet, was kind,
And most times he
Would pay me mind,
And little Rob
So neatly dined;
But, oh!
'Twas not enough.

Out from his paws
Grew claws so thick!
As wide as long
From tip to quick,
So cumbersome
They mocked logic;
And, oh!
They were so tough.

My Kougra and I
Tried our best
To remove the
Brick-weighted pests,
But our efforts
Failed the test;
And, oh!
'Twas not enough.

So I dug out
An old pair of shears,
And pushed upon
The claws as they leered:
Crushed 'em in two,
Freed my Kougra dear;
And, whoa!
Those clippers were tough!
