These Woods of Haunting
Create shadows tormented,
Creeping and sprawling down toward your feet,
In patterns of claws and creatures demented,
Halting you in utter defeat.

A faint scream of horror is heard from behind,
As it all closes in you feel weakened and small.
No way of escape are you able to find,
No one around to respond to your call.

A cold touch of death is felt in your heart,
Squirming and writhing deep down within.
Pelting you inward and ripping apart,
Your one hope of living ever again.

Sounds of a breath wisp from your right,
"Who is it?" you cry in a small shaky gasp.
In reply a gruff growl billows through night,
"Why it is me, little one,
And you are within my grasp!"

"I am the Hunter of bounty of faeries like you,
Your life is now held in the palm of my hand.
And with it I plan the Queen to subdue,
Holding hostage you all under my evil command!"

"I'll not go so quietly!" you snap in his face,
Flying high as you can in the midst of the trees.
"Get down here!" he squeals
As he increases his pace,
Deathly determined for only you he sees.

A small gleam of hope shines down from above,
As the parting leaves reveal the full moon.
It resembles all you dream of peace and of love,
And finding those there could come not too soon.

The Monster drew near to your only way out,
Strengthening you with a power unknown,
And as you left him there in his pitiful doubt,
Your life was not his but only your own.

An Ode to Taelia

In frosty lands of ice and snow,
One is there we all must know,
Pale, fair skin,
Ebony hair,
An air of mystery surrounds her there,
But who else could this fair maid be,
But the graceful, heavenly Snow Faerie?

Deep in Terror Mountain's hold,
She may offer treasures untold,
If only one would be so bold,
To do a quest for a heart of gold.

When in frostbit slumber sleep,
Buried under snow so deep,
Or lost your way in the howling winds,
Cold biting at your now blue skin,
Who will lift you with arms so strong?
And take you home?
None but the kind Snow Faerie.

Hood pulled tight upon her face,
She hears a cry for indeed,
Without a thought for her own self,
She goes to those in need,
(For in her heart, no thoughts of greed)
But the beautiful Snow Faerie?

Who has wings of feathered grace?
Who can cheer a downcast face?
Or cast upon this desolate place
Laughter from a mild face,
But Taelia, the kind Snow Faerie?

In Darigan's castle, he gives us no hassle
Both farmer and vassal all join in the throng.

The Three Drenched

Hands like the talons of the birds of the hunt,
Voices like the shriek of the woes of a thousand,
Scales that glisten and flash so dark,
It leaves the mind completely stark.
This can only be the description of the Drenched,
Whose hearts have indeed
From them been wrenched.

Who dares come close to our secret warren,
So desolate, dark, remote and barren?
'Tis an intruder, no less, that comes the track,
Comes and never looks back.
He has nothing to lose or nothing to fear,
Either way he'll lose the fight, my dear.

We sisters three must defend our abode,
'Lest our reputation be erode
By this pugnacious pup in a yard so huge.
We must him with our might deluge.
To arms, my sisters, fight we must,
We would not want his sword to rust.

With vigor we must ride to the clash,
With the strength of Jetsams,
So strong and brash,
And their ruthlessness tenfold,
We fight and win like warriors so bold.
Then we steal away in our cave so gory,
And share the win in our own sick glory.

They shall know the meaning of the word fear,
And wince when we so much as leer!
And when we have had all of our fun,
And we have done just about
All that can be done,
We shall throw them into the sea so deep,
And they shall, for their final time, weep!

Neggs!

The simple, regular, boring egg
Should not be confused with the fabulous Negg.
An egg you can only cook so many ways,
But with Neggs you can make up recipes for days!

Slice 'em or dice 'em or chop 'em in two,
Paint 'em, repaint 'em, or color 'em blue.
Mash 'em or hash 'em or strain 'em or not,
Freeze 'em or cheese 'em and serve cold or hot.

Blend into a milkshake all fluffy and frothy,
Give one a hairdo and make it look Slothy.
Leave one in the sun until it's all mushy,
Add fish, rice, and seaweed and call it Negg sushi.

Boil 'em, broil 'em, cut into strips,
Mix with some sauces and make some Negg dips.
Squish 'em and squash 'em until it's a paste,
Save it for later but take just a taste.

Put a li'l zest in your plain lemonade,
Or plop Neggs on toast instead of marmalade.
Peel Neggs like potatoes or toast 'em like bread,
Slop on the ketchup 'til totally red.

As a food, Neggs are quite versatile.
I could eat Neggs 'til I'm totally full.
Tasty and healthy and just really great,
