The City Underneath the Waves
By Aldurswolf

There was a grand old city,
Underneath the waves,
Filled with sights of wonder
At the height of prosperous days.

Its citizens were happy,
As joyful as could be,
They all enjoyed their city,
Living underneath the sea.

But these days were numbered,
They would never last,
And soon all the happy memories
Would be part of a terrible past.

It loomed above the city,
A whirlpool vast in size,
No longer a great city,
Maraqua had met its demise.

A city that is no longer there,
Just ruins in its place,
Scars now mar the city,
All along its once beautiful face.

The Smallest Aisha
By Huskergirl08

A swish of the skirt,
a flip of the hair.
She tapped her tambourine,
and stirred the thick air.
A smile curved
on her cherry red lips.
Her hands started to move
in rhythm with her hips.
She began to shake,
and her feet tapped the floor.
She spun with pure grace
and ignited folklore.
The King was smitten;
it was for her that he fell.
This mesmerizing Aisha
and her dancing spell.
But a smaller Aisha,
with an even smaller voice,
did not fall for this spell,
not even by choice!
She stood up to the world,
and said, "Now see here!
She's a phony, a fake,
and do not cheer!
She's evil! She's deceiving!
And she's blinding you silly!
Do not fall for her dance,
she's not even pretty!"
And with that accusation,
the beauty had no answer,
and so ended the reign
of the Court Dancer!
Lisha did save Neopia,
and this goes to show
even the smallest Aisha
can ensure the world grows.

Statue in Maraqua
By Idonothaveaname

In Maraqua there lies,
Deep in the ocean,
A statue whose eyes
Show great emotion.

She seems so sad,
As she stands there in stone,
As I look it makes me sad,
She stands so alone.

It's such a mystery,
How she got there,
It's a part of history,
A question everyone shares.

We may never find out
How this came to be,
There will always be doubts
Until proof can be seen.

For now there is none,
And maybe there never will,
But Neopians are not done,
Not until it's been fulfilled.

Deadly Dice
By Kushbi

On the stroke of midnight,
The Count stirs in his crypt.
Squeals of fear and joy greet him
As he lifts the heavy lid.

Neopets squeeze toe to toe outside,
Anxious for their turn
To roll the die which seals their fate
And makes it permanent.

He swirls his cloak and contemplates
The crowd waiting for him.
With a sneer and folded arms,
A Poogle is beckoned in.

She throws her die high in the air
And hopes that it's a six;
The Count spins his on the ground,
Playing just for kicks.

Alas, the Poogle shrinks in fear,
For she has rolled a two,
While the Count has rolled a four
And takes away her level, too.

So he continues with every Neopet,
Tirelessly mocking if they lost.
He stamps his feet hard when they win,
Although to him there is no cost.

An hour passes by much too soon --
The Count slips his dice away.
Climbing back into his crypt,
Ignoring those who came too late.

Maraqua City
By Kittenz4000

Maraqua City,
What a beautiful place,
It lies underwater,
Full of beauty and grace.
Its walls are adorned
With tales of the past,
Ships and sails,
And a varnished ship mast.
Visit the city,
And explore the land,
May the friendly locals
Lend you a hand.
As the golden sun rises,
Beams of light shine in,
And at night comes the moon
With a silver glint.
Before you rise to the surface,
Your tour at an end,
Say goodbye to the Maraquans,
And they are sure to be your friends!
