KORBAT DAY SPECIAL

Batty About Korbats
By Stariell

Today is a day
For all Korbatty things,
Filled with the flapping
Of colourful wings.
So spend some time
Looking up at the sky;
What kind of Korbats
Can you see passing by?

The seasonal Korbat
Is striped like a cane,
Korbats painted fire
Can't fly in the rain.
Is that a wicked witch
Crossing the moon?
Or a Halloween Korbat
Celebrating too soon?

Some electric Korbats
May give you a shock,
The plushie one is made
From bits of odd socks.
Something fishy?
Maraquan takes you by surprise,
The bright disco Korbat
Is a sight for sore eyes.

Dainty faerie Korbats
Can use four wings to fly,
Then there are the starry ones,
Painted like the sky.
Mutants may look evil,
But they aren't really mean,
And Korbat babies are the cutest
That I've ever seen.

There are famous Korbats
Like Darigan the Redeemed,
And Barallus the Brave
Was not all that he seemed.
With so many great kinds of Korbats
To be found,
You never know just who
May be hanging around!

Korbat's Flight
By Ritikira

On the dark and sombre night,
in which a full moon glows,
the Korbat alights from a branch,
and through the sky it flows.

Swooping swiftly through the night,
shining fangs a scary sight,
this beast gives you a fright,
beating wings with all its might.

Eyes glowing in the darkness,
wings folding in the breeze,
the Korbat clings to cracked branches,
with the greatest ease.

Shrieking like a northen gale,
ghostly fur so white and pale,
graceful, curling, spear-tipped tail,
claws that scratch like rusty nails.

Taking to the inky sky,
the Korbat's quite a sight,
flying through the icy air,
on its midnight flight.

An Ode to Batonimus:
My Favorite Shopkeeper

By Mekachu

Beating, batty, little wings,
Amassing bits of sparkly things,
Collecting that which each stop brings,
To fill his little Korbat shop.

Towards the Trading Post he flies,
What deals await his Korbat eyes!
A Negg, a book, or such surprise,
To fill his little Korbat shop.

From place to place and door to door,
From stop to stop and store to store,
Until his claws can grasp no more,
To fill his little Korbat shop.

And when the last purchase is made,
And all is priced and in its place,
He begs me gently to upgrade,
So he can keep filling his little Korbat shop.

Kevin, The Forgotten Korbat
By Scubalucy

Kevin, you're often forgotten,
Overshadowed and overlooked;
You're only on the Gormball team,
Since Dr. Sloth was double booked.

People know you as "that Korbat,"
Or "that guy next to Thyassa,"
Or "the guy that's not a good catcher,
And he's a pretty poor passer!"

Okay, so maybe it is true,
Your game really isn't perfect,
But you had to play last minute,
So what do they expect?

You play in your blue striped shirt,
The letter "K" on it is sewn;
You hope it will remind people,
Of your name that appears unknown,

You're very enthusiastic,
Though often out on your first turn.
Still, I admire your willingness,
And your strong desire to learn!

You've played Gormball for many years,
But no one even knows your name;
I've written this poem for you,
And I hope it will boost your fame!

Meruth: The Encounter
By Milorules

High above the woods so dreary,
Stalks a creature strange and eerie.
Through the trees, glowing eyes,
Terror felt as she shrieks and flies.

Running fast, behind the tree,
Here she comes, time to flee!
Suddenly a blood-curdling shriek,
Looking back, you fall into a creek.

Swimming violently, kicking quickly,
Suddenly you start to feel sickly.
Finally out, but to your suprise,
Face to face, looking in Meruth's eyes.

Frozen you watch, barely breathing,
Unable to believe what you're seeing;
Her mouth opens, revealing fangs,
Wings spread, wide open your mouth hangs.

Shaking now in fear, THIS IS IT!
She gets closer, ready for her hit,
So close that you see each scale,
Each piece of hair, and then her tail!

Then a glimmer, and a bright flash,
The sun fills the night... free at last!
Meruth shrieks, and away she flies,
You won this time, a shadow cries.
