Welcome To Brightvale
By Stariell

The Kingdom of Brightvale
For the learned is home,
Scholars who settle there never will roam,
Lush, green and spendid, with bookshops galore,
What intellectual could ask for any more?

To see Neopia with a rose-tinted glow,
Brightvale glaziers is the place to go.
Buy a glass sheet with a tint or a stain,
You won't look at anything the same way again!

At the knowledge wheel
You could get quite a treat,
Plushies or coupons to keep you on your feet.
Queue up in excitement to watch the wheel spin,
Who knows if this time could be your big win?

For the adventurous sort,
There's what the scrollery sells,
Fierce Battledome weapons in the form of spells.
So join the forces of the warrior elite,
Doing damage with just a rolled up paper sheet!

Brightvale Castle watches over the land,
Beautiful and imposing, its high towers stand.
King Hagan the wise, hearty and hale,
Has every reason to be proud
Of his kingdom, Brightvale!

The Power of Candy
By Odeliepie

Today I met a Meerca
Chuffer Bob was his full name
We got to talking about food
And I shall never see sweets the same

He said he liked to eat them best
To which I did reply
That based on his prodigious girth
That didn't seem a lie

He frowned for just a moment
And furrowed up his brow
But before I could apologize
He said, "May I show you something now?"

I went with Bob to market
We passed the Health Food Store
And turning up his nose, he goes
"That place is such a bore!"

"My favorite place," he told me next,
"Is this one straight ahead."
And there a chocolate building loomed;
"Come in with me, new friend."

Bob filled his cart up to the brim
With every type of sweet
He mentioned that the chocolate Neggs
Were a special kind of treat

I left the store, still following Bob,
He took me to the Game Room
Inside the room labeled "Cheat! In here!"
He plopped down with a big BOOM

The game commenced and I watched Bob
Begin snacking on his goodies
The players tried to ignore the smell
Of his tasty candy yummies

The sweet stuff so engrossed them all
No one noticed Bob was cheating
As Bob's last card was put on down
He said, "Well this was a fine meeting."

He grabbed his points, trophy, and snacks
And left the rest all numb
For falling for his chocolate ploy
They all felt kind of dumb

Bob puffed his chest and smiled at me
"I hope you learned something tonight."
Popping a Negg into his mouth, he said
"Never underestimate appetite."

Meuka and the Giant Ghostkerchief
By Schefflera

All the Battledome is quiet.
Just for once the crowds are hushed.
They are hoping that they'll spy it,
But they'd never dare to rush.

One great Battledome opponent
And another also strong,
Strangely fitting for each other,
And this shouldn't take too long.

It begins! Now watch the yucky
And the fearful battle fierce
'Twixt the mucus Meerca Meuka
And the Giant Ghostkerchief!

Oh, the fearsome slimy struggle!
Oh, the lash and splat and squelch!
Is the Ghostkerchief in trouble,
Or is Meuka losing health?

Now the trail is lashing madly,
But the gloves have just come off;
Meuka soaks the other badly,
But the Ghostkerchief just coughs.

Now the crowd is cheering louder
Ghostkerbomb and sword and shield,
But a sack of sneezing powder
Just gives Meuka more to wield.

In a Battledome all sniffly
Ghostkerchief seems overwhelmed
But it's only very briefly
That he seems to wish for Velm.

Each then takes a turn for healing
In th'arena filled with slime.
Sticky hand goes out and reels in,
But was just a waste of time.

And the fight's forgone conclusion
Soon is obvious without doubt.
Let there be no great confusion --
Meuka's strength is running out

For he tries, but soon he sees that
He is just too green a pup.
Ghostkerchief is not to sneeze at,
So poor Meuka is wiped up.

Contemplations of a Headless Plushie
By Elementz_ange1

I'm not altogether pretty
But, don't think of me that way!
I have no eyes to see you with
So close your own and play.

My head is off my shoulders
And my threads are frayed and snapped.
The stuffing's coming out my neck
But, a heart I do not lack!

It was not long ago
I was the envy of the Toy Shop.
As careless as a Buzz was I
Intense was my good luck.

But, fortune played the axis
And me, I pushed it 'round
Took me to this one Neopoint stand
That you have found me on

I'm lonely and I'm battered
But, please don't take your leave!
My eyes and ears and nose and mouth,
These things I do not need.

So does it do you any harm,
To close your eyes from what you see,
To listen only with your heart,
And spare some love for me?

Kreludor
By Freddiekat

They rode aboard their rocketship
As their own world grew small;
And flew amidst the murky space
To answer questing's call.

Approaching near the pock-marked shell
Of Neopia's only moon,
Our heroes saw the brake lights flash
The ground approached too soon.

Crashing down into the rock,
They thought their cause was lost,
But amid the bumps and bruises,
No precious lives would be the cost.

With space suits on, ray guns in hand,
They stepped onto the ground;
And peered about them cautiously
Fearing foes might be around.

Then suddenly there came a ZAP
From behind a craggy rock,
And clankingly, a huge robot
Approached the spaceship's dock.

"GET OUT!", it said, its eyes aglow,
"YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CODE."
And with those words, it raised an arm,
And fired down the road.

Our heroes all looked face to face,
And one gained strength to speak.
"What is this place that we have found,
And why is it so bleak?"

With one more final warning shot,
The robot tensed his grip;
And all of our scared journeyers
Fled back onto their ship.

Mechanics ran with gear in hand
To mend the broken brake.
Within moments, they had won,
The ship began to shake.

The engines flared a fiery red
The craft rose to the sky
The crew all sat in silence
As the planet passed them by

Then finally, the captain spoke,
"Well, I have no regrets,
But next time we go into space,
We're going to Virtupets!"
