KIKO DAY SPECIAL
A Kiko Toy
One day I wandered through a store,
One that I hadn't seen before.
It was elegant and nice,
Though everything had a price.
Swords, shields, potions, dolls,
I saw as I wandered through the halls.
It was at that moment when I saw
The most magnificent prize of all.
It was squeezable and round,
This interesting thing I found.
And as I reached up to touch it --
Well, the Faerie Queen had a fit.
I had knocked down a sword,
"The Fire and Ice Blade," she roared.
"Nothing broke, or even scathed,"
She mumbled as she cased.
But I was quite surprised,
When I looked into its eyes,
The Enchanted Kiko Squeeze Toy
Was now mine to enjoy.
I brought it home to my pets,
Each one having another fret.
"She has more toys!"
"No way, that's not true!"
I dropped it as my headache grew.
My Shoyru grabbed it first,
Her face could have even burst!
Another threw a water balloon,
But my Shoyru grinned so happily.
We all thought that she'd be drenched,
So when she didn't, I was pinched,
For the toy deflected the attack,
And since then it's been on a plaque.
We cherish our Kiko with pride and joy,
For it is not just another toy.
It's our enchanted artifact,
And with it, we'll all be intact.
The Moon of Kreludor
Neopia's first (and only) moon
Is a place of immense gloom.
The king is rumored to be Sloth,
In his trademark jet-black cloth.
He enslaved Grundos and started a mine,
Back before the start of time.
Once it was a peaceful land,
Now there's nothing left but sand.
Famous for its rare, strong metal
Is the moon the Grundos settled.
But Sloth abused and mined the place,
To construct a deadly face.
The S750 Kreludan Robot
Only serves its master's plot.
It is huge with scary lasers,
More dangerous than normal razors.
The Neocola Machine is mysterious,
Don't go near it; I'm very serious.
Accepting rare and strange tokens,
Grundos say it's always broken.
For none who use it ever return,
Leaving behind a blackened burn.
It's Sloth, I say! I dare conclude,
He's such an evil, feisty dude.
But not all is evil there, you see,
Nice orange Grundos work for free.
Selling rare and cool space books,
Funky with a snazzy look.
There's some fun to be had,
Jumping around like you're mad.
Your weight will be 65% less
Than the usual Neopian mass.
Hop on the ferry to Kiko Lake,
I'm sure you'll get there fast.
Once you get there and have some fun,
You'll surely have a blast!
The Kikos there live under the water,
In towns of coral so azure.
They swim in the fresh lake water,
In an atmosphere so clean and pure.
The furniture shop sells chairs and tables,
Made of pearls and bubbles.
Indeed, sitting on a nice pearl chair,
Will make you forget all your troubles.
And we can't forget the candy shop,
Selling cookies and sweets.
A sweet, crunchy Kiko Lake cookie
Is just one of their unique Kiko treats.
So this July, spend Kiko Day,
On Kiko Lake beaches so white.
Take your Kiko for some cookies and fun,
And a nap in the warm summer light.
Well, I'm here to tell a story
Of a quest, but not for glory.
No, that isn't what they're worried
'Cause they're looking for an Eyrie,
Of whose tale Neopia wearied,
But that doesn't mean that care he's
For when Darigan said friendship
It turns out he really meant it,
Won't leave friends in gray dimensions,
So a route to leave the real world
And with luck to be a healer,
Which he hasn't got much feel for,
Now with Jeran and Illusen,
(And you may find this confusin',
But they figure if they lose him
It's war, again.)
He sets off for lands uncheery
Where the Three make wise pets leery;
They in this dimension dreary
Then back home they hie and hasten,
With an Eyrie greatly chastened,
From that evil place they faced and,
Then it's Meridell for Jeran,
And Illusen green and fair and,
Up above they're also cheering,
Rescue and a strange alliance,
And the power of defiance,
But for Darigan compliance,
For he's shown he has the power
Even joined with Meridell's bower --
Now we're done with story hour.
I had a little Kiko,
And my Kiko was quite small.
She followed where I wandered,
And she answered to my call.
Of all the treasures in Neopia,
I loved her most of all.
Her big blue eyes, like sapphires,
Were cute beyond compare.
I gave her string and brushes,
For her little curly hair:
Jewelled collars and plushies,
And pretty things to wear.
One day we went out for a walk,
Out by the sandy dunes.
We visited old Coltzan's shrine,
With the best Lost Desert tunes.
But she had wandered out of sight,
All in that sun-swept noon.
I called her name, I implored the sky,
Oh, please bring her home to me!
But none the sunny hour would,
Through intricate society.
And though I called, she came not back.
Wherever could she be?
At last, at night, when light sank dark,
I walked to Coltzan's Shrine.
And weary, sad, and worried,
Here, I spoke by his side.
"My Kiko's lost, old Coltzan,
I don't know where she could be!
But please, have pity on us both
And bring her back to me."
And when the sun rose higher,
As dawn came like a sign,
I turned and there, just smiling, was
My Kiko love of mine!
