IXI DAY SPECIAL
I remember the day quite clearly,
Yes, indeed I do,
And if I gave you all a reminder,
I'm sure you'd remember, too.
The day the Ixi was created,
We all wanted one.
They looked rather cool,
And also quite fun!
But they were limited edition,
They were terribly hard to get!
For some Neopians it was a dream;
For others, a goal to set.
But soon after their appearance,
The news was released.
Ixi were no longer limited edition,
Everyone was quite pleased.
Even to this day,
When you look in the pound,
You rarely see an Ixi,
Crying on the ground.
So if you have an Ixi,
Take care of it quite well --
Act if it were still limited edition,
Of which you'd never trade or sell.
The Journey of the Ixis
The Ixis traveled, day after day,
Searching for a nice place to stay,
Through pouring rain and freezing snow,
How far they would travel, they did not know.
Across oceans, deserts, they faced everything --
Praying that soon they would find something.
Then it happened so suddenly,
Off in the distance, it was all they could see.
A place so wonderful, so beautiful, so great,
To run and to play, they could hardly wait.
Neopia was everything they had hoped for,
And a whole lot more!
All was beautiful and the pets so kind,
A better place they know they couldn't find.
The 11th of July was the unforgettable day
When the Ixi came to Neopia to stay.
Beneath the Citadel
A rosy young Ixi did gamble one day;
Across the green meadow she'd gone out to play.
She pranced and she danced
On the lightest of feet,
Then turned her attention to something to eat.
She cantered up northward
On fleet, carefree hooves,
Trotting past flourishing crops in their grooves.
For tastier flowers than down in the south,
She stretched out her neck,
And opened her mouth.
But as she reached for the petal to munch,
The prelude to war was to ruin her lunch.
A shadow crept over and blocked out the sun;
The Ixi stood still, not yet thinking to run.
The sight now before her soon widened her eyes:
A citadel of an incredible size
Was floating above and was coming her way --
And surely for Meridell brought evil days!
At first, it is true, she did not understand.
She'd seen nothing like this in all of the land.
'Twas massive but flying,
'Twas craggy, dark rock --
The Ixi was staring and wished for her flock.
Now closer and closer the citadel loomed,
And one little Ixi thought Meridell doomed,
For where fell its shadow
She saw the ground change,
And dreaded when she came to fall in its range.
Then suddenly by her a tentacle burst
From ground where the shadow
Had laid down its curse!
She sprang aside shaking, but to no avail;
One more, then another, now right by her tail.
At last, with a groaning, the citadel stilled.
The Ixi at last brought her legs to her will.
Her appetite stolen by horror and dread,
She zigzagged a path and from tentacles fled.
About the Ixi
Strong and graceful,
Brave and smart,
The mighty Ixi
Has lots of heart.
They come from a land,
Known as Meridell.
Now they're all over Neopia,
And perhaps space as well.
They frolic and jump,
They laugh and trot.
They love being active,
And love Turtums a lot.
There are many famous Ixi,
Like Chortle and Sinsi, too.
Even the Ixi Chemist,
Likes to cook up a good brew.
They come in many colours,
Like Darigan and Pink.
They even come in Skunk,
And they don't even stink!
Do you own an Ixi?
'Cause I really think you should.
They make great and special friends,
Like any Neopet would.
But the Ixi is really special,
Because they're so unique.
I don't know what it is exactly,
Perhaps it's their physique.
So on Ixi Day this year,
Remember just one thing:
Ixi make great pets, you see,
For the happiness they bring!
Sinsi the Ixi
Sinsi the Ixi
Was bored one day,
So she thought of a game
That would be fun to play.
She took out her pencil and paper
And doodled a puzzle
With cute little pieces
That you would have to shuffle.
To solve the puzzle,
They'll have to pay,
She finalizes her game
And goes on her way.
Greeted by her friends
Who are eagerly wanting to play,
They gather around as they listen
To what she has to say.
"This is a puzzle!"
She exclaimed very loudly,
"Dare to solve it
And you'll be gloating proudly!"
So her friends all tried it
And with their surprise,
The puzzle was indeed hard,
So they received no prize.
Neopians from all around
Came to try the brainteaser,
For Sinsi has created a game
That is sure to give your fingers a blister.
