KAU DAY SPECIAL

Kalora The Kau
By Stariell

Kalora the Kau is the card table queen,
Playing Cheat is where she'll most often be seen.
Her outfit is spotty, her visor is green,
She can lie through her teeth while remaining serene.

Unflustered, she calmly sorts through her cards,
Dealing them out to the other diehards.
She keeps her hand hidden, always on her guard,
And knows just what to keep and what to discard.

Is she truthful or cheating? You see her ear twitch.
A sign of nerves maybe, or has she got an itch?
Quickly, accuse her of making a switch!
If you're right then she loses and you will be rich.

She was bluffing! Kalora won't win this time,
And she's not pleased at being cut off in her prime,
But maybe she'll have to take this as a sign,
That cheaters will always pay for their crime!

Elegy For Kau Korral
By Minjuor

On this Kau Day I shall
By the Game Graveyard wander,
To sit and to ponder
The fate of Kau Korral.

At the tomb there's a "moooo,"
A yellow Kau leads me in,
So the journey I begin.
What else could I do?

In the tomb, the game commences
There's no cause for alarm.
It's a cheerful little farm,
With quaint rustic fences.

I'm a Gelert of red,
Ears and tail all a-squiggle,
I'm as happy as a Quiggle...
"Round them up!" the game said.

Three Kaus in a field,
I lead two to the barn.
I lost the third one, oh darn!
My score of "pass" is revealed.

The Kau herd's increasing!
I corral them with ease,
But it gets harder by degrees,
My job seems unceasing.

When a dozen rounds pass,
85% did they ask!
I sadly fail the task,
And I slump on the grass.

The game is now ended.
I exit the tomb,
And re-enter the gloom
Of a graveyard ill-tended.

I'd never played it before,
Knew it only by name,
And it seems quite a shame
It rests here evermore.

But in the future I shall
By the Game Graveyard wander,
And, having grown fonder,
I'll play Kau Korral.

Kau Lullaby
By Fearthejuliet

Some people, when they cannot sleep,
Close their eye and count some sheep.
I, however, choose to bow
To the lovely, sweet-eyed, kindly Kau.

I close my eyes, and drift away
To a meadow where Kaus frolic and play.
I can almost hear their playful "moo!"
I wish that I could be there, too.

I'd stroke their fluffy, sun-warmed necks,
I'd feed them lots of food, and next,
I'd count the clouds, with them at my side,
Then they'd seek, and I would hide.

This stupid dream has got to an end.
It's such an awful, hateful trend.
For I, you see, have four young pets,
And no room for a Kau, as you can bet.

So I have to retreat to a fantasy place,
Where a Kau-induced smile is on my face.
And I stay until I'm through,
And listen to a friendly Kau sing "MOO!"

Kalora's Weakness
By Jjjellybean121

Kalora the Kau is a crafty one
Who loves a game of Cheat.
With her see-through visor and polka-dot shirt,
Her opponents she will defeat.

With her innoncent looks she will attempt
To win a round of the game,
And get away with cheating
By getting another to take the blame.

However, Kalora has a weakness
That could cause her the match,
For when she cheats, her left ear twitches,
That the other players always catch.

So if you happen to meet her,
And play a round of Cheat,
Just watch her left ear closley,
And it could be her you defeat.

The Stampede
By Coloratura1832

The great peak of Terror Mountain
Is where the Kau herds graze.
But something strange is happening
That's made them change their ways.

Down through Tyrannia they run,
Their eyes all wild and wide.
They don't pause to eat omelette --
They surge like a great tide.

Next through Meridell they pass,
Their hooves paw up the soil.
Rumors are spread of great rewards,
Which stirs up more turmoil.

Soon they've come to Faerieland,
And raced down the main street.
Their minds are all quite focused on
The deadline they must meet.

But wait, now can you try to guess
Just why they've run away?
They're heading off to Krawk Island --
Free training is today!
