Yodel of the Yurble
By Saeynne
A frigid day dawns on Terror Mountain,
Especially bitter, a bite in the wind.
Neopians huddle closer for warmth,
Raise their hoods, pull scarves across chins.
But even in this cold, harsh time,
A legend has come about, soothing souls.
It tells of creatures, small and kind
With horns and manes to brave the cold.
They are Yurbles, with voices quite fine,
Small peering eyes, big brown noses,
And it is said that to hear the call of this kind
Will bring end to winter,
And the threat that it poses.
One night, a young Chia lay huddled in bed,
Gathered in blankets, and chilled to the bone,
She paused a moment, and raised her small head,
As a pleasant sound drifted through her home.
She smiled to herself, brought Teddy near,
Listening to the yodel of this legend come true.
She leaned down and whispered in his ear,
"Winter is over, spring will come as due!"

The Happiest Meals of All
By Chubby216
It's almost time, they're almost here
We've been waiting and waiting
For them to appear
On May 28th I will quickly dash
To McDonald's with plenty of cash
For burgers and fries, surely you jest
The money's not for food for me to digest
In every Happy Meal, one will find a plushie
Now, there's no need to get all mushy
There's plenty to go around,
Just wait your turn
What pet you'll get is of no concern
From Aishas to Wockies, they'll all be there
Try to get them all, that's definitely a dare
Tiny replicas of our favorite pets
Hoping to get a Faerie Aisha, I am taking bets
One more twist to this cute little rhyme
We're looking for
A new Neopet that is surely divine
So now that we all know our new little quest
Go to McDonald's to pass this test!!

Erick
By Ibeenbad
Deep in the bowels of the Temple of Roo
Beyond any aid from me or from you
Lived a wizard named Erick (the crazy Cybunny)
Well, lived isn't right...
He was trapped there, you see
Trapped you might say? Yes, trapped he'll remain
For the safety of all, that rabbit's insane!
A mad rabbit with magic,
Now that gives me a fright
Can you imagine your carrots
Suddenly putting up a fight?
Or maybe he'll just zap your feet into rocks
(The upside of that is you wouldn't need socks)
And what of your pets? Oh he'll get to them, too
Perhaps your red Ixi will sprout a new head or two
Well, your Lupe now meows
As your Wocky starts barking
And your Darigan Krawk
Now has an island type marking
But he won't stop there,
That deranged bunny Erick
He'll turn each of your Neopoints
Into a bright shiny brick
Can you just imagine what
You could buy with a brick?
Not even a rotten omelette
(Which would make your pet sick)
The shopkeepers would laugh
As you offered your "money"
(You know, the Neopoints bricks
From that insane little 'bunny)
You think that's not bad?
Well it gets worse from here
Your once mighty pet now quivers with fear
Not from a worthy opponent,
But a punchbag named Bob
Your Battledome pet is now a quivering blob
Your Neohome is turned into
A mushroom that's toxic
While the Money Tree starts
To beat you with a stick
It ran out of money to give right away
So now it gives bruises all night and all day
Is it starting to sink in
Why that Erick is trapped?
His course of insanity cannot even be mapped
So it's better for you, for me and for all
If instead of freeing that 'bunny
We just go to the mall

The Zafara's Sonnet
By Maygreen
Oh precious Zafara with eyes so bright,
And ever-present grin upon your face;
'Tis you who are my heart's most true delight
And you who makes this world a happier place.
Zafara, do you know why you are neat?
A mystery, the answer hidden deep
What trick to win the hearts of all you meet,
Within that furry form what secrets keep?
Perhaps it is your cheerful attitude,
In Battle Zone or playing at a game
So easy to please and constant good mood
No other Neopet can be the same.
I tell you true, my precious little pet,
'Tis for the great love that you give -- you get.

Victor aka Darigan Mourning
By Schefflera
Through empty streets where the shadows creep
With battle done after either side
Has won and lost, and has sown and reaped
With victory mine, though with little pride,
I walked, and knew that I wouldn't sleep
When deep in shade of a wall I spied
A purple scrap on a garbage heap.
An Eyrie doll, and it still looked proud
Though tossed aside like a piece of trash
A little child in a cheering crowd...
She likely thought she should fear my wrath
For loving you -- or the toy I've found,
But I knew you, and I've walked your path,
And I remember and miss you now.
A hero-doll, and it once was true;
You faced me down when I was the threat.
You must have seen these, at least a few.
I wonder, would it surprise you that
In Meridell they were common, too?
They'd send them flying with bread or bat
In lieu of getting their hands on you.
I know you knew of the damage done
To both our peoples, and both our lands.
I called on Three whom I should have shunned,
So when you fell, it was at my hands.
I chose, you chose, but when doom is done,
Should I, not you, have this second chance?
You have one mourner, if only one.
I'd hoped to free you and break their yoke.
I'd not expected you'd flee my call,
Though I had felt them and how they choke.
I've found the place where you struck the wall...
Enslaved by powers that we'd invoked,
You couldn't learn to resist their call.
Now all that's left is a wisp of smoke
And a doll.
