A New Neohome
By Aestus

Little Slivermoonim was
In essence, very sad
Because she feared her Neohome
Would come out looking bad

The builders said she shouldn't fear
They'd fix her home up nice
With pretty curtains, and a loft
Just to add some spice

But Slivermoonim wouldn't stop
She cried and whined and moaned
So her owner finally said,
"I'll help you fix our home."

They visited "Fine Furniture"
And bought a pretty chair
With cowprint up and down the seat
For Slivermoonim's lair.

Next they hopped onto a bus
And drove to island shops
To buy a pretty bamboo bed
With leaves to use as mops!

They traveled back to where they were
And sauntered down the road
A stop in "Gardening Supplies"
To buy a statue toad

"A fire bush would add pizzaz!"
Exclaimed the little one
"Oh and maybe bluebells, too
Would add to all this fun!"

"Perhaps, perhaps," the owner said
And gazed upon the price
"I only wish we could afford...
These plants would be so nice!"

But Slivermoonim wiped a tear
And reached into her bag
"Will my allowance be enough?
Then maybe we could snag..."

The owner smiled gently down
And stroked the Shoyru's head
"If this is what you want, my dear
We'll buy it or be dead!"

So they continued down the road
And backtraced to the store
For furniture and cookie jars
Perhaps a little more

They paid their fee and set off home
Their house should be all done
And there it shone, so beautifully
In Meridell's warm sun

They settled down, so comfortably
Into their bean bag chair
"Oh mommy," Slivermoonim said
"It's YOU for which I care."

Mootix Drop
By Llamapyjamas

My antennae sway in the wind,
My heart is ready to fly away.
It is my first Mootix drop
And I wish I'd stayed home today.

I check my parachute bag,
All strapped on good and tight.
I close my eyes and prepare to leap
And suddenly I've taken flight.

A hard turn to the left --
I've made it through ring one.
No time to catch my breath
I'm still far from being done.

Rings two through five
I pass through with ease
But ring number six
Is a tough squeeze.

A barrel roll to the right
And I've passed all six rings.
I open up my parachute
And it's like I've just grown wings.

A careful adjustment
As I ready my landing gear.
This dropping game is pretty fun,
And there isn't much to fear!

Grundo!
By Nincondemius

The newest singing sensation is from outer space.
Clad in orange, these Grundos look out of place.
But, really, who cares? At least in this case,
For everyone is crazy over Grundo.

Their lyrics are wacky, out of this world!
They appeal to every Neopian boy and girl.
Maybe their songs will help us unfurl
The mysterious truth about Grundo.

They came from Kreludor, that's all we know.
They're now the coolest thing,
So I'll go with the flow.
Even though I'm suspicious,
I don't want to be cast out in the snow
Just because I didn't trust Grundo.

Look at them closely,
And then maybe you'll see
The spookiness in them
That raises suspicion in me.
Even if you don't see it,
I still have a right to be
Suspicious of that new band Grundo.

They could be Sloth's newest minions,
Trying to talk over us.
That's the whole reason I'm making such a fuss!
Pretty soon, Neopia will be in a huge muss
All because of that darn Grundo!

But what am I saying?
No one wants to believe anything my way!
But, soon you will, when comes the day
That Grundo takes over,
Then all you will say is...
I wish I listened to Nincondemius!

When Courage Fails
By xRunxwxscissorsx

"It's time to brave the Battledome,"
I tell my pet one day.
Many hours I've spent to train,
In hopes this day will pay.
I want a renowned fighter,
With brains and will of steel.
I want a pet with strength and brawn,
I want to hear them squeal!

Oh, but please don't spare me,
I want to hear the truth.
Tell me my dear pet,
While we're in the grips of youth.
Don't you wish to fight,
With the might of brazen tooth?
A shake of head in answer,
I can't believe mine eyes.
My pet has decided to decline,
Ah but this is sure to be my demise!

No Battledome for this young one,
No glory for us all.
A shake of head in answer,
And all brave dreams were led to fall.

Ye Olde Food Rhyme
By Loose_socks

Mushy potatoes, yummy yum!
A bunch of tomatoes, so much fun!
Yeasty bread and bags of peas
Chunky meat stew and beef jerkies!

Hot crossed buns and raw potatoes
Stale bread and even smooshed tomatoes!
Turnip tartar is such a treat
Sludge pie, mmm... so good to eat!

"Gruel is good for you!" said I,
While munching on my marrow pie,
Aquaberries are even better
You can't get them any wetter!

Golden stalks and bowls of yuck,
An Asparacone, oh what luck!
Marrow sandals and braku berries,
Grey turnips are not so merry

This is what we all should say
When eating up our gruel each day
And so I've said and now shall say,
"You should eat gruel three times a day!"
