KOUGRA DAY SPECIAL

My Kougra
By Summer_of_daisies

His pelt is of the deepest black,
The dark of night is brighter!
His large strong paws and sharpened claws
Make him quite a fighter!

His stripes are burning and orange,
His eyes are Topaz yellow.
He has big ears and a snake-like tail,
What an adorable fellow!

Oh, how he loves Zeenanas,
Purplums and Grondik Roots!
I often find him on the beach,
Enjoying various fruits!

His favorite game consists of
Knocking down wooden pins,
With small hollowed out coconuts,
Whoever gets the most down wins!

He does enjoy a good pounce,
He annoys his sister so!
Each time before he pounces,
His tail sways to and fro!

His eyes begin to twinkle,
He's ready for the chase!
There is a funny little grin
Spread across his whiskered face!

Young Jaracco is just so cute,
He's only 100 days old.
I thought that on this Kougra Day,
His story should be told!

I love my precious Kougra,
All painted up in fire.
And just to see him happy,
Is my only desire!

My little Jaracco,
How lucky you really are,
Because of this awesome poem,
You are the only star!

Maraquan Kougra
By Voodooruby

The Maraquan Kougra is an amazing beast.
There's no matching Neopet from west or east.
The way it shimmers, the way it shines,
Is quite a spectacle, truly divine.

As it swims through waters so blue,
Neopets are drawn to its emerald hue.
They gape in amazement, they gape in awe,
For it was a miracle they recently saw.

Ebony stripes and ivory claws,
The Maraquan Kougra has no flaws,
Its defence may be low, its speed a Grarrl's pace,
But as far as looks go, it wins the race.

The tail of this Kougra looks like a Koi's,
But it's just part of its elegant poise.
Helping to swim, helping to float,
It's just as useful as a rudder on a boat.

Even though other pets are cool,
The Maraquan Kougra definitely rules,
With its tail and its eyes, its claws and its nose,
This pet is as awesome as all others go!

Fire Paw
By Winterwhisper197

Venture into molten caves,
Beyond volcanic land,
Search deeper than the heated valleys,
And go further than the sand,

You'll soon reach a little place,
Where one Kougra roams,
His pelt, a blazing fire red,
Camouflaging him in these tombs,

Raised by Tyrannian fellows,
Ever since he was small,
Now he lives in this hot, dry place,
The fire was his call

His eyes--a burning flame awry,
Intense and full of pain,
Abandoned and lost, spit in the face,
His memories always came,
Now he walks tall, protecting the grove,
His roar a loud warning law,
He's screaming, "Do not pass, intruders, do not,
For I am Fire Paw!"

The Darigan Kougras
By Almightyone963

The Darigan Kougras had come,
All the way from their dark Citadel.
Sent by their first master Darigan,
To plague the lands of Meridell.

They rampage during the night,
Burning homes and vast corn fields.
They slash and tear endlessly,
Into their adversaries' metal shields.

Meridell was in a state of panic,
For their lives were all at stake.
The Darigan Kougras came and saw,
Leaving great devastations in their wake.

When Lord Darigan had ultimate power,
The Darigan Kougras fought back.
Alongside the forces of Neopia,
With a BANG, a BOOM and a CRACK!

After the fall of their corrupted master,
The Darigan Kougras harmed no soul.
Maintaining peace throughout Meridell,
Became their own ultimate goal.

But peace didn't last for long,
For they now have a new master.
One that binds with powerful demons,
To achieve ultimate disaster.

Hopefully the Darigan Kougras,
Will learn the error of their ways.
They might even lead Meridell,
To its former glorious days.

The Maraquan Kougra
By Ibeenbad

On Mystery Island lived a sweet little lad
Who always was friendly, and never was bad
His brothers and sisters would tease him all day
For this sweet little Kougra did not like to play

Instead he would sit and look out from the beach
Where the Peophins roamed, just out of his reach
As he watched them all frolic and leap up for joy
He sighed very softly, he was a rather sad boy

His friends were all fishlike, living under the sea
Where that poor little Kougra
Would wish he could be
Wading into the ocean just was not as fun
As diving so deep, beyond the reach of the sun

Day after day, and night after night
He'd watch as his friends would swim out of sight
His mother, she worried,
For he seemed sadder each day
His heart, it would seem, was an ocean away

The days turned to weeks, as he sat on sand hills
Longing for fins and a pair of fish gills
When out of the blue (the sky not the sea)
Came a richly hued light,
It was the Fountain Faerie!

"I've heard of your wish," she started to say
"And if it is truly your dream,
It can come true today"
That little Kougra was stunned,
Did she mean what he thought?
So he blinked for a moment,
For the words that he sought

Then with a nod of his head,
He made it quite clear
He was ready and willing,
Without any fear
The light soon turned to liquid
As it poured over the sand
Within a blink of an eye,
He was a fish on the land!

A Maraquan Kougra, the first of his kind
(A really cool fish, to my way of mind!)
With a flip of his tail, and a gurgling glub
He flopped on the beach like the happiest cub

Into the sea he then moved
(It was awkward to see)
As he felt the cool water
He shouted out YIPPEE!!
(Well, he shouted in fishspeak
Which sounds rather odd
If you don't believe me
Try talking to cod)

His mother came running with a smile on her face
She plunged into the water at a very fast pace
And hugged her son as a tear trickled free
"My son, I love you... now go and be happy!"

His eyes shining bright, he turned from the shore
And dove deep in the ocean, deeper than ever before
Yes it's true, he now lives
Near the Island of Mystery
The first Maraquan Kougra in Neopia's History
