Neopets in Singapore 2003
Early in the morning at eight o'clock,
All the staff was up there shelving stock.
Isetan was crowded from inside out,
The queue around the building made me pout.
When I had to go in I got a chop,
They also gave TCG in the shop.
Mine was silly Meuka how boring,
A camera crew was filming the whole thing!
Entering the complex, I saw another queue,
Only 35 minutes for a sketch... oh, phew!
The second time was killer, I must admit,
Waiting four hours; stand and sit.
Anthony and Keith drew pets galore,
The Chia came again and mopped the floor.
Lots of stuff like plushies and doorhangs,
It was a major pity Donna had no fangs.
Free stuff like TCG and rare item codes,
Sent all the Singaporeans into kiasu* mode.
Photos and autographs for eight hours straight,
It wasn't a surprise the event ended late.
Poor Donna was exhausted and interviewed,
Lucky that around her there was no queue.
Taking down suggestions in her book,
Something around the area smelled half-cooked.
That day was truly wonderful and as I hoped,
The next day I had no reason to sit and mope.
Melted down the ice and returned a pet,
Donna deserves the throne in which she sat.
Wonderful time and new friends I met,
The next time will be better, that much I'll bet.
So much things to mention but now I'm late,
More on the event on deke131's page.
*Singaporean parlance for: scared to lose out
The Ballad of the Hidden Tower
Infused with power
This floating tower
Asparagus flying left and right
People cowering in fright
If you are hurting, you've been struck
By the almighty asparachucks
A ticking little bagguss
Looking harmless as can be
But when this piece of food explodes
It leaves its opponents in debris
A bag that's full of smelly dung
The opposite of clean
Throwing this dung correctly
Will make everyone turn green
A legendary golden bracelet
Once belonging to a king
Go into the Battledome assured
Victory is what it will bring
This is no normal carrot, you see
But the legenday carrotblade
And as everybody would agree
In battle it is of great aid
This little so-called toy
Will suck all water users dry
And for a cost of about 500k
All water attacks you can defy
The power of both fire and ice
Fused together into one
This legendary weapon
Will surely help you out a ton
The darkest weapon of them all
Sword of Skardsen is its name
Infused with powers of pure evil
The most evil weapon in the game
And so ends the ballad
Of the Hidden Tower
With weapons of greatness
And unmatchable power.
An evil lurking through the night,
Haunting the bedrooms of Chias,
Seeping thoughts into their dreams,
Leaking fear upon them...
All Chia parents warn their young,
"Don't stay up too late, or Luperus will get you."
Not only are the young ones petrified,
The elder are worried, too; Luperus targets all.
Some nights the Chias don't sleep,
Or even blink an eye,
Too scared of what lies
In their closet, under their beds.
No night is safe, not from the evil Luperus,
The three headed Lupe that
Haunts the dreams of Chias.
There is no possible way,
To evade this demon,
It won't appear in the day,
Or as Chias lay in bed awake,
Only will this Lupe come out,
When they're sound asleep at night.
Seeping hauntings, tauntings, and fears,
Into their silent minds.
There is but one escape,
Once the Luperus is near,
The Chia must wake up,
Before the effect is full,
The Luperus will vanish,
And so will the thoughts and fears,
No more sleepless nights,
Just silence and reasurrance.
Not all Chias are so lucky...
Some can't wait up 'til morning,
By then they live in fear, danger, carelessness.
Never wanting to sleep again,
For the Luperus returns...
The Mutant Aisha
A mutant Aisha may not be pretty
It may not be smart, or funny, or witty
It does have two mouths
At the end of its ears
But its eyes are still able
To shed those tears
The other Neopians
May laugh and call her names
She is excluded from all of their games
When they say no, she runs and hides
I come to wipe the tears from her eyes
She may not be too snazzy or chic
But she certainly is not a freak
She is just like the rest and always will be
The only difference is what you can see
But if you looked in the bottom of her heart
You will see hurting right there from the start
If you looked deeper into her mangled soul
What you find is not a pit or a black hole
You'll see a Neopian
That thinks and feels like you
After all of this name-calling
Who would have knew?
Mutants should be
Loved and kissed every day
Although they may be different
They are here to stay
No matter how much you ignore your pet
They will need you and
Love you, no matter your debt
If a pet can decide to accept what they've got
How can you starve them
And leave them to rot?
They have the courage
To accept the way they are
How can you crush their wish on a star?
So when you pet looks in a mirror and cries
Bend down and wipe that tear from their eyes
Remember that they rely on you to teach them
That the only thing that matters
Is what's deep within
My fellow Neopians
Can see that, too
And treat others how
You want them to treat you
A Whisper In The Dark...
You stand still, your heart beating
What was it that made a whisper by your side?
Your Zafara moans, and her Doglefox shivers
"Just the wind..." you say and quiver.
"It's all right, just a tree,"
You tell your pet, and she repeating
Whispers it to her petpet,
Who was trying to hide
The moon shows in full,
And the stars are bright
You decide that is enough
Thrill-hunting for the night.
You tromp off, every sense on the alert
What was that? A tree.
The sound? The wind.
What about that flitting
Off the edge of your vision?
Darting off with great precision?
You stop, and dig your feet in the dirt
Ready to run, or even to fend
Off the scary beast in the night
It's small, It can't have much might.
A flash of light, something alien and weird
Purple collar, real queer
Black fur, as dark as pitch
Running, your Zafara's Doglefox
Yelps off into a ditch.
Could it be what you feared?
Whatever it is, it is very near
Your Zafara runs off to get its Petpet
You take a flashlight and you're set.
And there it is, for a quick moment
No, it darted away...
Your Neopet and Petpet huddle near you
There is nothing for them to do.
But it's in front of you, your torment!
And it is there to stay
There stands the Shadow Usul,
Ready to bring fright
Before she is just once again,
A whisper in the night.
