KOI DAY SPECIAL

Dorsal Finny's Tale
By Jostlin79

A friend who's fun and inventive,
that is the pet in my wish.
You can understand my shock,
when I awoke to find a fish!

Not just any old fish,
to my extreme surprise.
He was a rather talkative pet,
with huge inquisitive eyes.

He introduced himself
with a huge toothless grin.
"My name is Dorsal Finny,
but my friends just call me Finn."

Finn was from Maraqua,
the ruined city underwater.
Since his home's destruction,
he looked everywhere for the plotter.

After months of searching,
each of his leads ran dry.
"All I need now is a friend,"
he said with a sigh.

"That is something I can help with,"
I answered with a cheer.
My words made this Koi happy.
It was just what he wanted to hear.

If you go out looking,
for a pet to call your own,
keep the little Koi in mind,
and you will never be alone.

Illusen's Glade
By Icicle__city

Illusen sits in her earthen glade,
Staring at the pretty things she's made,
There are potions, combs, and novels, too...
Some of these items could belong to you!

Illusen beckons to a wandering Koi,
"Bring me an apple and I'll give you a toy!"
She blinks and flutters her brown-green lashes,
And off for her item, the Koi dashes.

He's soon back and is repaid,
With an item Illusen has made,
And back to his modest NeoHome,
The Koi trots off, satisfied and alone.

Illusen turns on her heel and walks away,
She's certain the Koi will come back another day.
Days and weeks the pet is in her power,
Fetching cards and food and flowers.

Until one day when Illusen smiles,
"Bring me a Floud, it'll take a while!"
The Koi gasps and starts to cry,
For he has a Floud by the name of Fye.

He'll have to give up his precious petpet,
For he does not want to be reset!
He is overcome with woe,
But suddenly protests, "No! No! NO!"

"Your quests are pointless,
And wrong wrong WRONG!
You've wasted me Neopoints all day long!"
And off he stalks, head held high,
Onwards into the azure sky.

Illusen sighs. "Oh, never mind!"
"Hey, you Uni, here's what you have to find..."

Rally All Koi!
By Noremac9

There was a land of underwater dwelling,
Where only bubbles came of all your yelling.
Where Chiazilla fought with his enemy,
And all the noble Koi ran free.

But then came the pirate--you know the story,
He destroyed all of Maraqua's aquatic glory.
Well now such a long, long time has passed,
Yet no one's rebuilt that city of glass.

The whirlpool's stopped, it's safe now,
Is everyone afraid of becoming Slug chow?
Someone must be a brave enough soul,
To go down and rebuild the city, its whole.

So Koi Day's come again once more,
And I'm moping about on the floor.
I want to go back to my beautiful home,
In those seaweed fields I want to roam!

Dare I propose a rally of our kind?
To leave that statue and Slug behind?
To go down and make anew that which we lost,
Despite the problems, despite the cost!

Is it so hard to bring back the fish?
To track down Chiazilla and fufill our wish.
To have our home back, to live in glee,
To restore the sea floor to its harmony.

I just might try it, I just might try,
"You'll never do it, silly Koi!" my eye!
I know what I'm doing--I'm restoring a home,
I'm bringing back the land of the purple dome.

Join me or not, Koi or otherwise,
This city will be corrected, this I devise.
Should something stop us, we'll overcome,
Now rally all KOI! Each and every one!

Koi Win Our Hearts!
By _Smilez__

Scaly fins, spiky hair,
hearts full of fiery flare,
kind open eyes, welcoming smile
befriending a Koi doesn't take a while!

Dashing dives, daring souls,
witty minds, all different roles!
Humorous spirits, caring love,
Koi are the pets, that come right above!

Good hearted laughs, full of giggles and fun,
enough joy to share with everyone!
Good helpful friends, responsible too,
Koi are the pets that are the true blue!

It's quite easy to see,
which pet is for me,
come adopt a Koi today,
and share the love every way!

Maraquan Koi
By Howling_werewolf

One day I was taking a trip on the sea
When I heard a song, a sad melody
I steered my boat and changed my course
So I could follow the sound and find its source

The weather had changed as I reached my goal
And suddenly in the sea appeared a hole!
It was a whirlpool
And it sucked me down and down
I was suddenly afraid for I feared I'd drown!

I opened my eyes to find that I was fine
And looking above my head I saw a sign
"Guided Tours" it said
And then I got quite a surprise!
For behind the sign swam a Koi with a loud cry!

He looked at me and smiled
Then I looked behind him
As he also turned and began to swim
I saw that he led me to a great underwater city
But it was all in ruins! It was a great pity

This is Maraqua, the old home of the Koi,
Though it had once been busy,
Now I heard no noise
The streets were a wreck and the statues dust
I followed the Koi through, though--
I felt that I must

He told me stories of when Maraqua was great
Until a great whirlpool sent the city to its sad fate
He told me of his friends and family who had fled
Till only a snail was left who he'd nicknamed Fred

Maraqua belonged to him and his broken dreams
This world of once joyful pets
Had been ripped at the seams
And now the Koi lived there
On his own (except for the snail!)
Waiting for passing visitors to tell his sad tale
