Oh The Lupe

Oh the Lupe, such a marveled creature
Admire his every quirk and feature,
Gaze into his soulful eyes
And you will quickly realize
He is a gift from nature.

His brothers and sisters throughout time
Have been in many a story and rhyme
His ever noble ways
Will last through all his days
For he is a loyal friend of mine.

He is the golden knight of Meridell
His bravery had served him well
In the fearsome fight
For the orb of light
But that's another tale to tell.

And Garon the Lupe, bravest by far,
Or the ruefully tortured Balthazar,
They are great, they are strong,
In the tales and in the songs,
Lupes will live in my heart evermore.

Oh the Lupe, respect them for all your days,
Read all their stories, learn all their ways,
Gaze into their soulful eyes,
And you will quickly realize,
That you'll never forget
their strength and their grace.

Lupe Day Excitement

"Hooray for Lupe Day!"
Was shouted by local Neopians with delight,
As a young Lupe sat up from where he lay,
On his comfortable bed the previous night.

The sky was scattered with tons of clouds,
The young Lupe began to smile,
Looking upon the Lupe-filled crowds,
Cheering and dancing happily
Amongst themselves all the while.

He excitedly ran down the stairs of his NeoHome
And flung himself out the door
Out to explore Neopia's celebration alone
Feeling quite excited about this once more.

The Lupe blithely hopped along the brick streets,
Visiting most of the city's many places,
Then found himself quite curious,
Towards the different paintings
Created on Neopets' faces.

A crescent moon now placed upon his cheek,
The young Lupe looked quite grand,
As a bit of hunger struck his stomach,
He advanced towards a small food stand.

"Boy!" the Lupe hungrily exclaimed,
After purchasing tons of cake,
"I hope buying this much food,
Wasn't a terrible mistake."

He devoured most of his cake hungrily,
And headed towards a park to roam,
Before realizing it was late,
Then heading back home.

Fortunately his owner was fast asleep,
And instead of feeling relieved,
The Lupe became stricken
With a horrible stomachache
From previously eating
Seemingly rotten Deluxe Lupe Cake.

After crawling tiredly into his bed,
With just a thing more to say,
The young Lupe smiled,
A dream emerged within his head,
Then croaked a blissful, "Happy Lupe Day."

Poor Balthazar

Deep in Neopia,
A lupe was born.
But he wasn't wanted,
So his spirit was torn.

His family, they left him,
At the edge of the woods.
They didn't even give him,
An assortment of foods.

Weak and starving,
He saw purple lights.
He knew they were Faeries,
Flying like kites.

He came up to them,
Pleading for food.
They started to cackle,
They were very rude.

The Dark Faeries threw sticks,
And then they threw stones.
The dark woods were filled,
With poor Balthazar's moans.

He ran through the forest,
Yelping with tears.
And in that dark forest,
He lived for many years.

And as of right now,
Because of that day,
He captures Faeries and sells them,
He is evil in that way.

Mistreated Lupes

Lupes aren't just another boring pet,
They're a pet you'll see, and then won't forget,
Their prey's the Chia, that you'll know,
As they devour them from head to toe.

No one knows just why they do it,
But one things for sure-- the Chias blew it.
Lupes are too nice to have caused the fall,
It couldn't have been them that started it all.

I mean, look at those Lupes, happy with glee,
Chomping down on a Chia in victory.
And look at their majesty, bold and great,
It MUST have been Chias
Who chose their own fate.

Sure, Lupes are tempered, and they DO bite,
But Chias are just little beings of the night...
Look at them closely, and you'll agree,
They're not the kind of thing
That needs to be free.

Yet Lupes are blamed for the justice they do,
While Chias get pampered by all but a few.
Is it just me or are Lupes treated wrong?
All because with one pet they don't get along?

Okay, so they're arrogant, and a bit mean,
But just look those little Chia blobs, obscene!
Lupes will seem wise, fair, and kind,
Even if none of those things cross their mind.

They're also vain and proud,
But what's one to do?
If your were that noble, you'd be proud, too.
I can't say they're perfect, or refined a ton,
But in competition with Chias
They've already won!

So why is it Chias get all the sympathy?
Is the only one who can see the truth ME?
It's so obvious Lupes are an innocent bunch...
Oh wait, here comes one,
And it looks like I'm lunch!
