Dissipates to reveal a broader sky:

The Meercas in the dark fields
Eagerly gaze with expectations 
To sight the Faerie Meerca who
Defies their grounded conceptions.

The night is never truly black—
Space reaches out in rich navy
Hues like the Faerie Meerca’s
Wings, transparent and deep.

The stars twinkle like said 
Meerca’s eyes, bright specks
Winking with so much to see—
They try their best not to blink.

The galaxies beyond manifest
Like a white underbelly of haze—
Perhaps it is the Faerie Meerca
By which space models its shape.

The Meercas in the fields huddle 
Close, tails intertwined safely.
The sleep sound through the night,
The cosmic Faerie Meerca flying by.

The Forest Meerca

Above the tall, leafy trees - 
A Meerca scampers between the leaves, hiding, its fur ruffled by the wind.

Rustle       Swish      Huff
      Crinkle      Whirl

Its furry paws grasp at the tough, wrinkled bark of the twisting branches, waiting. Spotting a sugary, ripe fruit at the tallest branch, the Meerca makes its ascend. 

The fruit          gleaming          
         glistening        glittering

in the sunlight.

Snatching at the fruit, the Meerca inspects it carefully. It wipes the shiny, ruby-like surface with its paw, polishing off dirt and debris.
Taking a bite, the Meerca licks at the sweet juice of the fruit.

Crunch    Bite     Munch
     Chomp    Crack     Gnaw

The soft summer breeze moves the puffy white clouds, letting golden rays of sunshine through below. A vibrant rainbow splits through the sky, casting its light in bursts of colour onto the forest trees.
The Meerca sits on the olive green canopy, naming each passing cloud.

A flying Eyrie                A dancing Uni
              A swimming Acara

float by, drifting through the soft blue sky.

The Meerca turns, looking at the crystal clear pond below. Leaving the fruit core behind, it dashes down through the leafy undergrowth, its paws climbing nimbly.

      Skitter    Scurry

It walks slowly towards the serene pond, gazing at its reflection in the clear, cool water. Pale pink water lilies peeked out from under deep green lily pads, dotting the calm surface of the pond.
The Meerca carefully tossed a small, glossy pebble into the water, leaving spreading ripples behind.

The Meerca scampered slowly to a burrow at the foot of the hills ahead. Sniffing at the daisies that grew around, it picked some and wove them into a delicate daisy crown.

Into the burrow hole. 
Its soft, furry tail disappeared into the darkness of the home.
Into the green        calm        soothing
              tranquil    peaceful

Reaches of the forest, safe and at peace.
