The Surreal Special
Surreal Screal
by actiontal
Screeching for joy and food
The sounds pierce Neopia
Hunger pangs slice the sky
Pirates on their ship listen
Hearing the despair
A screals ravenous cry
Fish pop, fish pie, nibbles or fried
All the fish for screals
Squeals as they eat the inside
Now they glide in crested waves
And lounge on sand shores
Bathing in dappled sunlight
Screals tummies so full
They put on a show
A volleyball balance on their nose!
The smell they emit
When the screals are on land
Quite fishy and unappetizing
As the golden sun sets
Across the shallow bay
The screals and fish rest
For tomorrow is another day

Surreal Bartamus Darkness
by starofcolors
A quiet Faerieland dawn
Everything seems so calm
Everything shines with faith
Almost like you could feel safe
But suddenly you're filled with doubt
By a screech emanating from Jhudora's Cloud
A trumpet of darkness singing loud
And with chills your spine is bestowed
In the horizon, something appears
As it looms closer, the vision clears
Revealing growing shadows of terror
Slowly filling the heavens with horror
Everything becomes dark and shrouded
You try to look but your eyesight is clouded
All you hear is wings flapping
And millions of evil growls snarling
But as the loudness begins to fade
You rise from the shadows in which you laid
To look at the skies with anguish
Seeing the darkness begin to vanish
Into Jhudora's Cloud the murkiness flows
Like a funnel of darkness, drinking it all
Swallowing a cauldron of Bartamus
That responded to their master's call

A Surreal Bearog
by precious_katuch14
Bearogs are small furry petpets
Sharp in tooth and claw.
But that's not so odd,
Certainly not surreal at all.
But wait! Bearogs have three heads,
The left, the center, the right.
And when you see them,
It's quite the amazing sight!
Their heads just can't agree,
Sometimes they even fight.
It's hard to understand
A Bearog's heads' plight.
There are cloud and pink Bearogs,
Red Bearogs and black Bearogs too.
Island Bearogs, Tyrannian Bearogs,
Green, Valentine and blue.
All with three heads,
All sharp in tooth and claw.
But one Bearog is stranger,
The strangest you ever saw.
The mutant Bearog is so surreal,
The most surreal you'll ever meet.
When it comes to being quite odd,
It has the other Bearogs beat.
What a weird Bearog indeed!
It almost makes you want to run,
For instead of having three heads,
The mutant Bearog has only one!

A Surreal Gift
by superkathiee
Kat bought a new dress from the NC Mall,
Perfect for the everyday, or a carnival!
She loved it so much, she got one more,
Her best friend Summer, it was for.
She raced along to Summer’s place,
And found her at the front yard gate.
“Hey Summer! Look what I got you!”
The Kau turned, and her smile grew.
The Blue Kau was quite delighted,
To see the Pink Draik so excited.
She let her friend into the grounds,
“So tell me, Kat, what have you found?”
The draik exclaimed, “It’s the best!”
And pulled out a Carnival Striped Dress,
More beautiful than she could have dreamt.
“Summer, it’s for you! It’s a present!”
Summer was touched by Kat’s gesture,
This dress was one that she’d treasure.
“But what about you?” the Kau questioned.
“For you, Kat, this dress is destined.”
Kat dug into her shopping bag with a smile.
“You know this dress is exactly my style!
I got one for myself, as a matter of fact.
And the best part is, now we can match!”
“Yay, thank you Kat, it’s so on trend!”
Kat handed the dress out to her friend,
But Summer was met by an invisible wall.
“I’m not able to grab this dress at all?”
The friends stood there, quite perplexed.
They had no idea what’d happen next.
Suddenly, a Red Blumaroo bounced by,
“Take this gift box, then give it a try!”
Kat stared at the box, quite amused,
While Summer asked them, confused:
“How will this basic gift box help?”
“Give it a try, and see for yourself.”
Kat was convinced it wouldn’t work,
But she put the dress in with a smirk.
She handed it over, expecting to be frozen,
But this time, nothing stopped her motion.
Kat and Summer were both shocked,
“What is so special about this box?!”
But the Blumaroo was already gone.
Then the gift box vanished into the lawn.
The friends were desperate for an explanation,
Or was it all a figment of their imagination?

The lab ray dream.
by chincer
Find the pieces scarred, random they come.
9 are their numbers, blue tones on their beings.
Once you have them all, make a map of their limbs,
And you can find the island where the doctor lives.
A tail of a walein, into the ocean past the mist,
Lies a lab of nightmares, where wishing is a dream.
Here you find the doctor, mad as he is smart;
Never ask him why he built such a thing.
His ray, what a wonderful machine.
Could make you a robot or make you ogrin.
Be wary of your level, you could lose them all,
The doctor don’t care, all he does is grin.
You can be you, but never here,
As the doctor laugh and makes you be.
Do you dare the chances, can you live with what it is,
Or you accept yourself, for all that never will.

A Surreal Fashion Dilemna
by nahhnbahs_side
I have a royal korbat friend,
and we make quite a team
but she says she's unconverted,
whatever that means.
Says the trappings of fashion
are but a fanciful dream
and once 'pon a time
I asked her what that might mean.
For she wore a royal gown,
which covered her wing to wing
and with a glint in her eye
she gave me a grin:
"Oh my darling, you see -
- this fine garb isn't clothing
it's really
my
skin.
And if I ever took it off
you'd see whats within."

A Relevant Title
by homsar_eggplant
Basking in the sun
Two gatherers sit watching
The petals falling
He ventured his best
On his futile quest
And never returned to Brightvale again!
Oh, what a joy it is to sip upon cool water
A sensation of refreshment, of life restored
Exhilaration, continuation, rejuvenation; oh, cool water
I am so bright; my SCIENCE is tight!
My knowledge is cray, as the kids say
SCIENCE for all, here at College Hall!
(SCIIIIEEENNNCCE!)
Let us reflect and lament, what has come and what has left
Buildings are but structures, our heart and souls are eternal
A new Neopia Central arises beyond the ruins of the old
Dearest love Brunhilda, your radiant hair glistens upon the morning light
Your tears of joy speak of most magnificent dew shining equal
Such resplendence cannot be matched, dearest Brunhilda
They were all there, it was noise, it was chaos, the voices of a thousand screaming generations
The clash of Darigon, the clash of Brightvale. What was it fought over? So much catastrophe and
calamity! When does it end?
The clicking creaking of the steps, something lurks beyond the sight
Grim mystery, fascination, lumbering malignant blight
Dreadful ghast, arriving now to bring me enduring fright
The next point of agenda is the examination of the TPS reports. As one is aware, they were filed last March, resulting in a net gain for mainstay company profits as well as central examination. Under the clause of 71B3, benefactors are entitled to compensation for extraneous work on this endeavour.
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang, but a whimper
You have been watching Neovision

A Surreal Sight
by t0tor0
One day I found a place surreal:
A town which was a giant meal.
I looked around in shock and awe,
And bit back my great urge to gnaw.
The town was built entirely
From orange and some green jelly!
The buildings, bridges, even trees,
All wobbled slightly in the breeze.
In the middle of this strange world,
I saw something and my thoughts whirled.
A giant jelly! Could it mean…
Free jelly for all those keen?
I scooped some mint jelly and went
To scoop some more, but my intent
Was thwarted by a Wocky guard
Till the next day, my way was barred.
I drifted off and found a store
That vended jelly foods galore.
I found a partly eaten pile
Of green jelly. Stumped me a while.
I glimpsed a tiny green Chomby
Surrounded by flying jelly.
He dodged through jelly blobs of doom.
Fleeing consumption, I assume.
On the horizon, I could spot
A section which looked rather hot.
A jelly Blumaroo bounced high,
Away from threats up in the sky.
I gaped and then heard an alarm,
And woke to find drool on my arm.
The dream tried briefly to persist,
But Jelly World does not exist…

The Quaint Seat on the Moon: A Surreal Treat
by _brainchild_
If you've been looking to ignore
Real life, then the surreal
Prop "Quaint Seat on the Moon" boasts more
Than mystical appeal.
Have pets of yours wished they could sit
Atop a crescent moon?
If so, this is an awesome fit,
So you should get one soon.
It comes in four cool colours. Look
At the original.
Blue paired with muted yellow hooks
You on this trend, not dull.
The other hues, pink, violet, and
Soft turquoise complement
The clouds so vibrant and quite grand.
From angels they are sent!
Oh, if Kreludor can't be reached
To sit atop the moon.
Then get this item. I beseech
You to procure one soon.
The hue you choose is up to you,
Though all are very fine.
With this, you'll feel some joy anew---
It simply is divine.

The Jahbal
by baiuki
’Twas long, and the many groves
Did the Hero wade:
All the dank were the caves:
And more dark than the night.
“Beware the Jahbal, my son!
The magic that bites, the strikes that stun!
Beware the Two Rings mages, and shun
The ferocious Faelinn!”
He took his sword in hand;
Long hunting through the foe he fought—
Resting only to buy potions
And to upgrade armour and sword.
And, ready to move he stood,
The Jahbal, with eyes of rage,
Came through the cave,
And wailing as he came!
One, two! Three, four! Through the tireless fight
The shining blade went snicker-snack!
Hero left it defeated, and with his reward
He went trudging back.
“And has though slain the Jahbal?”
The Hero remained silent,
While the others shouted “Callooh! Callay!”
His journey was done, Neopia was saved.
’Twas long, and the many groves
Did the Hero wade:
All the dank were the caves:
And more dark than the night.
