Krawk Day Special

Krawk Island Sea Shanty
by exanomaly

(note: a lyric to be sung while swabbing the decks,
found transcribed in the pages of a rare dry copy
of Krawk Island Myths)

yas! tharr betwixt the wily waves -
an isle lies - poxed with caves -
the home of many a' scurvy knave -
Krawk Island, the fairest of all the dames -
to ye, me heart’s enslaved!

ay! she’s a lady of great renown -
though some dare not seek her - lest they drown -
she’s fraught with peril - ships run aground -
an’ the Circle of Maraqua rings her round -
she's a glittering stone on a watery crown -

oh ho! how that old - cold - stormy sea -
wears its three jewels prettily -
an island shrouded in mystery -
a place that’s hidden beneath the sea -
an’ you my lass - an’ thee -

Oh! Krawk Island, the fairest treasure -
for ye, I brave bad weather!

Ye fed me fungus - sludgy and green -
grew myself up - n’ named ye my queen -
an’ I have ne’er looked back - ne’er questioned your grace -
every long night at sea I have yearned for your face -
to return to your taverns - your alleys - your nooks -
your bones of bright coral - I am caught on your hook!

many a trial I’ve gone through - on sea and shore -
many a’ blade at my throat - many a’ scar I’ve borne -
but nothing cut deeper than that dreadful day
when I returned home to find that ye’d floated away -

disappeared - dragged - spread ‘cross the ocean -
my heart sank in the brine - I needed a restorative potion -
I staggered - I swayed - I cursed - I swooned -
I was shaken down to my last dubloon!

Oh! Krawk Island, who vanished into thin air -
for ye, me heart does dare!

But we found ye - me salty bride - me girl in blue -
and oh how I’d missed ye - did you miss me too?

I’ll ne’er leave ye agin - cross me ol’ bones -
that’s a pirate’s promise - you’re not alone -
as true as the flight of the pawkeet - or the splash of sea foam -
yer my compass - my lass - my Krawk Island home.

Oh! Krawk Island, the fairest of all the dames -
to ye, me heart’s enslaved!

Dorak and Dubloons
by trubiekatie

Around Krawk Island and across the seas,
A certain Krawk is known amongst thieves.
Always scouring for dubloons, great and small,
Whatever his boat carries, he takes all.

Dorak the Krawk rows around real quick,
Snatching those dubloons, a thief real slick.
He shouts, “Finders keepers, losers weepers,”
As he spends his haul with the Island shopkeepers.

How does his boat hold all that dubloon weight?
He must be able to fill crate after crate!
He rows around, his trust oars in tow,
There’s nowhere on the rough seas this Krawk won’t go.

In Dubloon Disaster, he hustles so quick,
Swinging his oars, in a coordinated flick.
Avoiding the mines, or they’ll sink his boat,
I wonder how many dubloons would float?

To Dorak, I raise a toast on this Krawk Day,
As he rows through the rough seas and the sway.
I hope you can find all the dubloons in the sea,
But, maybe save a few here and there for me!

Krawk Day Hurray!
by starfishlovesyou

Krawk Day is here at last,
So let's enjoy our time and have a blast,
The Neopies have just been cast,
And I'm a Krawk enthusiast!

Krawk Island is just southeast,
A wonderful trip to say the least!
This rare petpet is not a beast,
So let's celebrate with an Island feast!

On Krawk Island- don't get caught in a typhoon,
Since the tides are pulled by the moon,
Better hold onto your gold dubloons,
Or you may lose them very soon!

If a Krawk is what you crave,
To get a Krawk you must be brave,
No- you won't be marching to your grave,
But you must take your petpet to the Fungus Cave!

A Krawk is not for the faint of heart,
They like trouble from the start!
To take care of one you must be smart,
Just make sure you are never apart!

Krawk Day is here- let's raise a toast,
Available in Disco, Pirate, and Ghost!
If I had a Krawk I sure would boast,
Because that's the Neopet I love most!

Now let's have a ball,
Happy Krawk Day to you all!

Krawks in the Fungus Caves
by miraday

The northern sea chops and heaves;
Ocean foam skips from wave to wave.
Green specks, Krawk petpets, weave
Through, navigating an instinctive way.
The journey begins in Tyrannia’s delta
And somersaults through the benthic zone
Dividing their birthplace, prehistoric Neopia,
From the Krawk Island shores calling home.

From the Maraquan seabed, the migrant
Krawks look just like sargassum drifting,
Searching for the faraway southern island.
No whirlpool or wave slows their swimming.
The horizon eventually yields a blip of land—
The abyss shallows to a rocky bed beneath
And the Krawks reach ashore on soft sands
Dotted with dubloons and shipwreck debris.

The trek is over, but the journey continues:
Far from Warf Wharf, the forgotten shore
Is remembered by the Krawks in pursuit
Of their destiny: a fabled seafront cove.
The weathered arches become palisades
Protecting the entrance from errant waves.
Out of smugglers’ sight, doused in seaspray,
The Krawks enter the legendary Fungus Caves.

Moulds and mushrooms adorn the caverns,
And sea lichens beckon the Krawks to feast.
An unknown magic is performed, transforming
The petpets to Neopets, crocodilian beasts.
The Krawks emerge from the caves at night,
Changed creatures inheriting all of Krawk Island.
Their difficult journey is a testament to life,
The struggle overcome with a mystic lichen.

Musings on the Krawk
by petpower14156

Their Dock on the island that goes by their name,
Their Shock at the sight of things boring or tame.
Their Jock-like demeanour and boisterous spirit,
Their Talk of adventure to all who will hear it.

Their Mock and their Block at a fight by the Cove,
Their Knock and their Sock for the whole treasure trove.
Their Flock to the fight for securing their shares.
Their Squawk of excitement when the bounty is theirs.

Their Walk with their tails held aloft in the air
Their Hawk-like, quick glances and penetrating stare.
Their Rock-solid spirits in spite of all dangers,
Their Talk of great dreams and warm welcome to strangers.

The elusive, the rarest of all Neopets,
Yet the Krawk seems to be known by all.
Their infamy spread across all of the lands
From their years seeking glory (and treasure).

K is for Krawk
by she_chose_love

K is for Krawk island,
a really cool place to explore.
Full of Pirates and caves,
and Dubloons Galore.

R is for really rare,
as all Krawks are.
If you want a Krawk of your own,
you will have to search really far.

A is for all things Krawk,
which is what we are celebrating today.
New Krawk themed items are everywhere,
and new Krawk paint colours too- Hooray!

W is for wonderful,
which is how all these new Krawk themed food items taste.
There is so much candy and sweets at this party,
we cannot let it go to waste.

K is for Krawk,
the star of today.
Enjoy the celebrations,
and have a happy Krawk Day!

Dasher the Retired Krawk
by roxanna203

The crowd continues to get loud,
He knew he had to make them proud,
No yooyuball would dare pass him,
Even when the chances looked grim.

The crowd cheered louder upon a goal,
He was destined for this particular role,
But alas, time continues without fail,
His plans of retirement cannot be derailed.

Recalling memories of his pastime,
Made him smile in genuine sublime,
But where a glorious chapter ends,
Another begins that also transcends.

Out in the sun on a tropical beach,
Sipping Kiwi-Mango Smoothie within reach,
Enjoying the sound of the Tiki Tours,
While reading all the variety brochures.

On the side, he trains his petpet Go-go,
To play Deckball like no other pro,
Ensuring victory as when he was a star,
As his skills are anything but subpar.

Dasher Soley is a legend among heroes,
A story told for generations on how he rose,
Leaving hard shoes to fill for his team,
But knowing him for them, was the dream.

The Malicious Krawk - Lady Frostbite
by 1337r3st0ck4

Taken by the seas as a child,
No rescue in sight.
She grew up in the wild,
Truly a difficult plight.

Darblats took her in,
She became their ruler.
They were now her kin,
And in time she became crueller.

Over the years her hatred grew,
Lady Frostbite had one goal.
With the help of her petpet crew,
She’d freeze every heart and soul.

Thankfully her plan was foiled,
By Torchio coming in hot!
The Krawk’s icy lair was boiled,
Her plan was for naught.

Since capture she has now fled,
Hiding in another frigid domain.
Snows and blizzards for all to dread,
She will be Neopia’s bane.

The Dark Lieutenant
by precious_katuch14

Green scales, black armour,
A fearless Krawk warrior.
Striding through Faerieland,
Part of Terask's band.

A master of the sword,
Loyal to his lord.
Patrolling Cumulonimbus,
As any lieutenant does.

Adventurers, beware!
Turn away, avoid his lair!
Within the ruins he waits,
At Cumulonimbus' gates.

His magic shield flashes,
His sharp blade crashes,
He sidesteps, he dances,
Flawless is his stance.

A Krawk unmatched in skill,
And unyielding in will.
He is the Dark Lieutenant,
He's always on the hunt.

Green scales, black armour,
Is Terask all he fights for?
Piercing stare, intense eyes,
A career built on fears and lies,
Sinister cape, wicked claws,
Utter infamy near and far.

And thus says the lore,
He met heroic travellers four.
After one decisive battle,
And a score to settle,
The Krawk dropped his sword,
And at last, fought no more.

Krawk Island's Mystery
by lil_reef

Walking along the Forgotten Shore,
The green Krawk sketches carefully,
A map to this mysterious place for,
Those for whom adventure is destiny.

Upon completion of his map,
He quickly tears it into ten,
And wraps it up in a piece of burlap,
Until it is needed once again.

Then out of the water bursts,
A krawken of massive proportion,
Surely Krawk Island must be cursed,
With this monster and its contortions.

Something must quickly be done,
To prevent Krawk Island's destruction,
But surely there is no one,
Brave enough to face certain abduction.

Then out of nowhere came a thought,
For how the krawken might be contained,
With cannons he must be fought,
To keep Krawk Island together safely chained.

So every day the green Krawk asks of you,
Whether you will fire or will flee,
And if you are lucky you just might accrue,
The map pieces to find your destiny.

Together the ten pieces,
Will guide to a place,
Where the ocean safely releases,
Treasures beyond imagination,
For those who have both bravery and grace.
