A Slorg In Need

Walking past the Shop of Offers, 
on my way home like I always do, 
when I slip and slide across the sidewalk, 
and I stumble to look at my shoe. 

The sole was covered in thick, green slime
I frowned and looked around 
What could have caused this messy blunder
and where could it be found?

I followed the slime into the alley
and around the bags of trash
when I saw the little perpetrator 
trying to get out of a box with crash. 

I peeked inside and he stopped
he stared at me with big eyes
and unable to get out, 	
my heart was softened by his cries. 

I reached in to help this little Slorg
out of the box and back on the street
where he chattered quite happily
and rubbed against my feet.

Smiling, to my new Slorg friend, 
I gave him a little check-up, 
and said, "Let's find you a better home,
or who knows where you might end up!"

Ode To A Slorg

I once found a Slorg in my mug,
She seemed quite a terrible slug,
I dropped her and screamed
But she looked up and beamed
And I saw she just wanted a hug

The Slorg, it turned out, was quite charming
Her smile was sweet and disarming
She'd lived all alone
(Though that smile still shone)
For everyone found her alarming!

I then took her out for a walk,
Not minding if anyone gawked,
She sat on my shoulder
How lovely, to hold her!
For hours, we wandered and talked

She showed me the sun on the leaves
And the droplets that fell from the eaves
The world that I knew
From her point of view
Was so different, I barely believed!

I felt quite ashamed I was scared
Of this creature for whom I now cared
Sure, she felt gross
When I first held her close
But oh, the laughs we had shared!

In the end, so close we had grown
That I felt I had to atone
I said "Beg your pardon,
Will you live in my garden? 
I'll give you a name - how's Sli-mone?" 

Sli-mone giggled with glee
I'd never seen a Slorg so carefree!
So she stayed in my yard
Where she helps me keep guard
And lies around drinking green tea.

The way they leave so much slime,
your place will need cleaning in no time.
In every direction they leave a trail,
a guarantee and without fail.

You may wonder why even try,
all that mess and you question why.
For a petpet, is it worth all that mess?
Of course it is, let's assess!

Look beyond the slime and grime,
and you'll see a petpet that's sublime.
They are always so very happy,
they can turn around anyone sappy.

It's contagious how they smile,
you might even stare for awhile.

To the Marrow We Go!

To the marrow we go!
For Slorgs, we are.
We won't stop, no no!
We travel on, wide and far.

And every Slorg we meet,
joins in the line.
For we all need to eat,
and that marrow is oh so fine!

If you want to come too,
just follow our trail!
We leave it behind for you,
so you can join us at the tail.

And so our line grows,
in green, pink, blue and red.
And it never slows,
until we all have been fed!

Behold, over there!
The marrow, finally in sight!
But, what's this chill in the air...
Oh no, a Yurble, ready to fight!

But we must go on!
One Yurble can't stop us all!
So we continue to cross this lawn,
even if one by one, we fall...

And as the Yurble shoots,
we struggle along!
For we are now near the roots,
and we are still going strong!

Then, after all this time,
we reach the marrow, and get to eat!
And the Yurble, covered in slime,
has no choice but to admit defeat.

To the marrow we went!
For we are the Slorg race!
And no Yurble can ever prevent.
As we keep on going, even in space!

Attack of the Slorgs

In the land of Meridell is a fun little game
Attack of the Slorgs is the games name
Nasty Slorgs attack a young Yurble’s farm
To his crops the petpet’s bring great harm

The Slorgs come in red, grey, and blue
There are Brown, black, and grey ones too
In a line the slorgs take off to go eat
Hungrily they charge ready to feast

The farmer bravely defends his crops all night
His Slorgeriser blasts those slorgs outta sight
Slorg-B-Gone hits them one, two, three
They melt away leaving nothing to see

He must watch out for the laser for it can fail
And leave him struggling to find the slorg trail
With the right mindset he can get the job done
It honestly might even be a little fun

My Slorg Won't Let Me Write

I have a darling little Slorg for a pet,
A faithful, delightful friend, you bet.
He stays by my side wherever I go,
Sticks with me through highs and lows.

But there is one problem I can't solve,
Not even with the most selfless love.
My Slorg interrupts my writing days,
In a myriad of interesting ways!

He slithers across my writing desk,
My works in progress are at his behest!
He leaves slime trails all over the paper,
They're evidence of his latest caper.

He curls up with my pen holder,
And dampens my document folder.
Oh, Slorg, why did you have to choose
My table for your bedtime roost?

He settles down on my latest story
Sliming it as he looks up at me.
I should probably teach him a lesson,
But I can't; that's my confession.

He looks up at me with his beady eyes,
He smiles; instantly I'm mesmerized.
My Slorg has a way of making me smile,
Despite the ever-growing slime pile.

I had hoped to compose a poem
For Slorg Day as I sat at home.
I guess my Slorg had other plans.
I'm so very sorry, my adoring fans!

I have a darling little Slorg for a pet,
A faithful, delightful friend, you bet.
Because of him I can't write for Slorg Day.
But I can celebrate with him anyway.

The Salad Slorg: A Sprightly Slug

When searching for a friend anew,
A certain slug, although
It trails a lot of slimy goo,
Will make emotions glow.
The Salad Slorg is so unique---
Through zapping it is made.
Initially, all souls will shriek,
But later, fear will fade.

Its eyes emit a certain joy.
So jolly, Slorg will smile.
Superior to any toy,
He'll please you for a while.
Although his leaves are succulent,
No decent soul would eat
This Petpet. It's so evident
That he is not a treat!

Though tempted by tomatoes, all
Resist the urge to chew
Upon the Slorg. He will enthrall---
He entertains the crew.
He's jovial, so positive---
One cannot help but smile.
Pure happiness this friend will give---
He's anything but vile.

It’s pink, not green,
It’s covered in Forget-me-Not,
Looks almost serene.

What is this new Petpet I see?
Covered in slime,
Do you think it is meant for me?
Takes a long time

Just to get across a short log.
It’s so happy,
