Techo Day Special
The Techo Fanatic
Once upon a time, in a land far away,
I never cared about anything, folks would say.
I would wander about, doing everything passively,
And the only feeling I ever had was apathy.
It seemed that all activities were a bore,
But all that changed one day in Altador.
I overheard as I neared the city wall,
“Did you see that game of Yooyuball?”
“Yooyuball?” I asked. “What’s that?”
Hoping someone would stop to chat.
But all I heard were tongues clicking,
As my curiosity was piquing.
To the Altadorian Archives I made haste,
And the adventure I could almost taste.
I read all the histories of Yooyuball,
And started to feel a sense of excitement.
The majesty! The strategy! The pace!
All just to move a Yooyu through space.
I sought out the tournament to watch just one game,
where, lamely, “Go team!” was all I could exclaim.
As I watched Mirsha Grelinek oppose Layton Vickles,
It seemed like he was in a pickle.
I shouted, “You can do it, Darigan!”
And I saw Layton’s eyes light up with a plan.
Later in that game, Mirsha needed some help,
So, “Go for it, Shenkuu!” I did yelp.
She seemed to gain confidence when she heard,
And I felt such joy to spur her on with my words.
After watching that game of ball with a Yooyu,
There was only one thing I wanted to do.
My life suddenly had a purpose
To know my cheers could do players a service.
So now I spend all of my energy and time,
Yelling and clapping, even through halftime
To make a small difference in even one play
Makes me feel like it has been a good day.
I’m not very charismatic,
Nor would you say I’m diplomatic.
You might call me dramatic or enigmatic,
But I don’t care - I’m the Techo Fanatic!
The Techo Master
In the mists of Mystery Isle
on the mountain with no name
lives the humble Techo Master
Sensei of Neopian fame
Simply cross his palm with codestones
and his knowledge he'll impart
lessons from a Master trained
in zen techniques and battle arts
Listen to his words of wisdom
"Wax on. Wax off", for example
With each lesson he will gift
the student with a clever sample
So make the trek to Mystery Isle
climb the mountain with no name
perhaps you will then sit beside
the Techo Master of Neopian fame
Mutant Techos slither and crawl,
Blue bodied and with a red belly,
Spikes speckled sporadically over their body.
Other Techos turn their nose up at them,
Because they look so very different from the rest,
But actually they are some of the best!
Their tongue is long and drips with neon green venom,
A spiked tail in an unique design,
Today is their time to shine!
NC wearables are made just for them,
They look so awesome; they are quite special,
Even if they don’t look like an Usuki doll.
Occasionally a Techo Transmogrification Potion drops from above,
You can sell it for Neopoints or use it on your pet,
A transformation happens and a Mutant Techo you’ll get!
We love Mutant Techos and so should you,
And we celebrate all Techos today,
Let’s all come together and go out to play!
Techos, oh Techos
You place in Neopia is true!
Your soul is as colourful as the rainbow
And the arts you master is as tricky as kung fu
Oh please, ask Mater techo, he will tell you!
Or you know what, don't make an issue
Their agility is something everyone should pursue
So don't let them be angry, or they will catch you!
But fear not, for mostly they are creatures of eternal bliss
And the stunts they perform are hard to miss
They make you and your neopets show your pearly teeth
And they remove your worries by converting it to relief
So owners of techos, I can't emphasize how lucky you are!
For having a neopet like this is the opposite of a nightmare
Strength, Intelligence and Kindness is extremely rare
And for techos anything less would be unfair
Now you want a techo I presume
Adopt one or make one, let their species bloom!
And If neopets didn't have techos today
Every day would feel like a disarray
A Techo in the Month of Gathering
A starry Techo starts the morning clad in tweeds
and sprawled out with the newest Times to read
an article about famous Techos around the world.
There’s a story in it about Bug Eye Mcgee,
whose ship sank into a black sea,
as his screams skirled.
When his alarm chimes,
the Techo sets aside the Times,
and goes to work.
Unlike the adventurous Techo whose ship sank,
the Starry Techo works at a bank.
“Happy Techo Day!” exclaims a clerk
as the starry Techo goes to his desk to take a seat,
where he is surprised with Techo Day cupcakes ready to eat.
A Tale of Two Techos
This is going to be a tale,
Of two very different Techos,
You know, the one with the tails?
With eyes that can see echoes.
This Techo sells tropical food,
and is friends with Mumbo Pango,
with vibes that say cool dude,
and discounts on jumbo mangoes.
This Techo was once known as the Thief,
who is now known as a great chief,
he and King Altador are great buddies,
mastering the dark arts, this Techo studies.
Techos may look scary and angry,
But they're actually happy and chatty,
Will tell you jokes and make you laugh,
Get a Techo folks, on their behalf!
it's Techo Day
Follow the directions
First we go
to the rainbow pool
Biscuit, Magma, Stealthy, White
Pirate Techo makes you first mate
Skills with Master Techo
You will cultivate
Third step in Skenkuu
The river is rushing!
Bowe will help you
Fourth and final
Meridell we choose
Cheese for me
and cheese for you!
is the best day
The Story of Dr. Death
Adopt, Transfer, or Abandon,
The big-eyed bug brandished a sneer,
Who would ever leave behind their companion,
And give them so much to fear?
Dr. Death, the nightmare of many,
Wasn’t always so chilling,
In his youth he was happy and cared plenty,
He’d hoped to do something fulfilling.
He’d studied and trained,
And job searched afar,
His dream job eventually obtained,
He was ready to be a superstar.
With a smile on his face,
He accepted the role,
The Neopian Pound he graced,
And he gave it his soul.
The years passed by,
And as the sun continued to rise and fall,
Sadness began to overwhelm him,
The lack of love left him appalled.
The most heartless of Neopians,
Without a care in their brain,
Abandoned pets by what seemed to him in the millions,
He could feel each one of their pain.
So next time you visit the pound,
Remember to stop and smile,
And say hello to the yellow Techo if you see him around,
Even if he’s now a little hostile.
I think if we showed a bit more love and compassion,
This grumpy, grey-haired, yellow peer,
Could regain his lost hope and ambition,
Once he saw less pets were abandoned here.
Steady Yourself (The Buzzer Game)
Guided by the summer breeze,
A step through the brambles and trees,
Lies a test of patience,
Concentration and suspended time.
Here is a place without distraction,
Away from the hindrance of agitation,
A young Techo apprentice learns,
How to move from the beginning to the end.
Eyes open lately under the tension and pressure,
Be the guide from one end of the wire to the other.
But do not come too close,
For a loud disapproving buzz will sound.
Avoid the hurried temptations,
View the challenge with scrutiny.
There is opportunity and there is time,
Waiting for you to be the guide.
In the midst of disturbance —
Moving from one point to another,
Cautious and steady, the noise fades away,
Grace and consciousness remain.
On a grassy hill in Meridell,
A blue Techo beckons you,
"Care to partake in some Cheeseroller?
If you win, you keep the cheese, too."
The Techo awaits at the counter,
Cheese line the shelves behind him,
Peppermint, honey, and even brick,
You pick quadruple fudge on a whim.
"That'll cost 1800 NP",
The Techo hands you the cheese,
You plop it on top of the hill,
As a gentle breeze sways the trees.
Down the hill the cheese goes,
Leaping over rocks and bumps,
Gaining momentum every second,
With forward somersaults and jumps.
As the cheese crosses the finish line,
The Techo waves with a big smile,
"You finished in 50 seconds!
The fastest time in a while."
