Petpet Appreciation Day Special

Petpet Appreciation Day
by she_chose_love

I love Candychans, Cirrus
and Angelpuss too.
Warfs, Onas
and Snowbunnies that are blue.

I love Feepits, Meepits,
and Snowickles I think.
Feloreenas, Babaas
and kadoaties that are pink.

I love Beekadoodles, Flowpers
and Doglefoxes who love to play.
Bloopys, Faellies
and Mortogs hooray.

I love all Petpets,
today we show appreciation for Petpets near and far.
We apricate them all,
and today they are the star!

Thank you, Little Petpet
by xrainydayx

Thank you, little Petpet,
For keeping me company
During the long nights when I get scared
And need someone to be with me.

Thank you, little Petpet,
For always staying by my side
When I need a friend to share
A Cherry-tastic Faerie Pie.

Thank you, little Petpet,
 For being my companion
When we travel far away
To distant places like Tyrannia.

Thank you, little Petpet,
Today is your day
We celebrate all Petpets
On Petpet Appreciation Day!

An Ode to Woodland Petpets
by miraday

The forest calls home, trees rustling,
The petpets whom they call their own--
Woodland petpets which camouflage
Into the view of shrubs and stones.

In treetops, Teemytes and Gobblers
Flutter freely like windward leaves.
On branches perched like statues
Are Mombas, Ukalis and Hermiteeses.

In the glade, Babaas and Pwerkos
Graze peacefully while mischievously
Darting through the shrubbery are
Schools of Gypmu and Epuni.

Around tree trunks, the Slorgs rest
And Tentacles are walking sticks.
Woodland Rocks reside like bark
And birch Jumas play their tricks.

All biomes are home for these petpets:
Feloreena in flower fields gracefully,
And Millipod patches are juxtaposed
Near the mossy ponds of the Mibblie.

Also in the woodlands, scrublands house
Blobikins, tall like flowering Saguaros.
No matter the zone, biome, or loam—
These petpets call the Woodlands home.

The Smallest Friend
by roxanna203

A tiny friend I can always rely on,
The happy-go-lucky petpet called Jon.
The one who makes me smile when I'm down,
Can make thousands smile from a frown.

There for me through the hardest times,
Believing the mountains I can climb.
Hindering what I cannot do alone,
With you I know I can face the unknown.

Running, laughing, and playing in the sun,
Are all the memories created from fun.
Water splashes as we search for treasure,
The love I have for you is unmeasured.

Cheering and always by my side,
I can always stand with loads of pride.
The day my owner gave you to me,
Is the day I knew I would forever be happy.

A Petpet by the Door
by abby568

I never cared for petpets, they simply weren’t my thing,
Until an icy day, I heard my doorbell ring.

I opened up my door, found nothing was outside,
Only a pitiful whimper, left in a box to hide,

I brought it inside, put it on the bed,
then slowly came out, a small odd head.

It turned out to be a wobbly looking pup,
so rather small, it’d fit in a large cup.

It was then that I decided that the very next day,
I would find this ugly thing somewhere else to stay,

But then I was captured by Dr. Sloth, nearly eaten by slorgs,
adopted by aliens, transferred to planet Zlorg,

Rescued by pirates, took their ship,
then sloth came back, only escaped with a flip.

But no matter how bad ran my luck,
Fuzzy, my petpet, by my side he stuck.

Petpet Appreciation Day: Rock On!
by alien_ation

My pet Rock doesn’t say a lot
But he sure knows how to listen
And I know just how he’s feeling
By the particular way he glistens

Others like to tease me
They think my Rock is boring
They don’t know how much fun we have
When we’re out exploring

Rolling down a grassy hill
Or soaking in a pool
Every single night I think,
“Today was super cool!”

My Rock is there through thick and thin
He fills my heart with pride
I know I can do anything
With my Petpet by my side

An Ode to the Weewoo
by precious_katuch14

Upon Krawk Island when evening falls,
All who are there hear haunting calls.
Who make these haunting calls, they ask,
Who (or what) undertake this strange task?
The answer lies at Little Nippers
The home of petpets oh so chipper.
Feathery creatures with tiny beaks,
Beady eyes in a face quite meek,
Long tail feathers, adorable feet,
One of the cutest petpets you could ever meet.

The Weewoos make those haunting calls,
Sending pirates into a relaxing lull.
They perch upon branches and windows,
And sing their songs both high and low.
Neopian Times writers have written of them,
Indeed, the white Weewoo is the Times' gem.
The symbol of our fill-in-the-blank news source,
Delivering the Times to all Neopians' doors.
Or so they say; even if the Weewoos did not,
We authors and artists appreciate them a lot!

There are many different types of Weewoos,
Pink, yellow, red, green and even blue.
Faerie Weewoos sport lovely transparent wings,
The Maraquan Weewoos instead sport little fins.
The Christmas Weewoo dons its holiday best,
The Royal Weewoo is prepared for a fancy fest.
The grey Weewoo seems to be having a sad day,
The plushie Weewoo is always ready to play.
The list isn't complete without a pirate Weewoo,
Darigan, mutant, snow, rainbow and robot too!

What more can be said about the humble Weewoo?
A simple yet amazing petpet, it's true!
Upon Krawk Island when evening falls,
All who are there hear haunting calls.
Who make these haunting calls, they ask,
Who (or what) undertake this strange task?
The Weewoos of Krawk Island sing their tune,
And as the afternoon ends, we shall hear them soon.
And when that happens, I shall be ready then,
For Times inspiration, with a paper and pen.

Faerie Altachuck
by l0000000l

Needing to be cleaned in Mop 'n' Bop,
Altachucks are misconstrued as dull and drab.
Despite being valued at 5 NPs in shops,
Rumour has it they can actually be quite fab.

If monochromatic greys aren't your colour,
A dip in the Petpet Puddle will appease you.
As Altachucks are innocuous and not brawlers,
Paint them Faerie and they'll be the right hue.

Per the beauty of the heavenly Faerieland,
Faerie Altachucks are truly majestic.
With lime green wings and pink fur strands,
These sensitive petpets are quite domestic.

Per the regality of the glorious Altador,
Faerie Altachucks are incredibly loyal.
If adopted, they'll remain forever yours,
But be warned: loud noises make them recoil.

Incredibly kind loving creatures at heart,
All Altachucks deserve an equal chance.
But if painted faerie is your aesthetic in art,
Give 'em a shot and you won't need another glance.

Petpets are a Traveller's Best Friend
by vltava

I’ve been travelling so very long,
They tell of my travels in songs
But I’d not have stayed so hale,
Nor be here to tell my tale,
If it wasn’t for my friends you see,
They've always looked out for me.

In the regal streets of Altador,
Where the once-woke king sleeps,
I stumbled all weary and paw-sore
Down rough cobbled streets,
But the shy Alabriss saw my state,
And let her wings take my weight.

In the depths of Moltara out of sight,
Down where the hammers pound,
When I was lonely for the light,
Sick with the dark and underground,
The Magmut snuggled up tight
(Though he also set my jumper alight).

Diving in the Maraquan deeps,
The Lutra was my trusty guide,
She led me down to where the ruin sleeps,
And never left my side
When I was thrown out of kelp,
I would have starved without her help.

Parched in the Lost Desert’s cruel sands,
I walked without hope of rescue,
In this most unforgiving of lands,
But my friends brought me through
The Anubus’ company quelled my sighs,
And water was found by the Horus’s eyes.

When I braved the Geraptiku jungle,
The Chuchuanas’ eyes lit my way,
Saving me from many a night’s stumble,
And the Blugar paced beside me in the day
So even when the trees seemed without end,
I was never in want of a true friend.

Oh yes, I’ve been travelling
Till my clothes were unravelling,
Covered all of Neopia’s vast ground,
And always I’ve found,
In my travels without end,
That Petpets are a traveller’s best friend.

A Petpet's Plea
by neogal_anu

I'm so glad you brought me home,
Away from that dusty old shop!
I dreamt of a day when I could roam,
And reach Terror Mountain's top!
My excitement made me write this poem,
As I neared your abode
With newfound hope,
As I watched your Cybunny hop!

Your Cybunny took me under her care,
Gave me a name to call;
Fed me the juiciest pears,
And we even played Beach Volleyball!
I could feel the breeze in the air;
As I sat on the beach,
Eating a tasty peach,
That this is the best life of all!

It all happened one fine day,
Exploring the Neopian lands;
Bunny and I went to play,
And found something we couldn't understand.
Bunny went on to say,
Here's a little hole,
In which you should roll,
And return with treasure so grand!

That was the first of many places,
Which made me scared and dizzy.
I have a fear of enclosed spaces,
They send me into a tizzy.
To get into Bunny's good graces
I must not complain,
And think of the gain,
I must keep myself busy!

To do these, easy it is not,
Who can forget the Petpet Lab?
That creepy Kookith left me to rot
As a pile of soot on the stone slab!
The Deserted Tomb, I nearly forgot,
Is one of the worst;
It is definitely cursed;
Monsters waiting in the dark to grab!

It's Petpet Appreciation Day, they say
Do you really appreciate me, I ask?
Why do you send me to places so grey,
That I tremble, but still perform the task?
There must be other ways
To find treasure
For good measure,
I don't want to jump into a cask!

I don't mind fun and a good game,
They're my favourite thing,
But don't, in your quest for fame,
Think that I will treasure bring.
I don't want to ruin your name,
It's Petpet Appreciation Day,
Change your ways,
And together let's welcome the spring!
