Pteri Day Special!

Blessing all Pteris
by heautontimouromenos

In a crystal clear sky, shortly after dawn,
A Pteri casts a shadow over dusty plains.
The few trees stretch their branches
Into the air, as if to touch the graceful flying Neopet.

A solitary creature,
His eyes are searching the plains
For something edible to catch
To keep him flying steady for
Another day or two.

‘T is Pteri Day today,
But the Neopet remains unphased,
Singing a tune in the top of a bare tree,
Or flying towards other lands.

If you happen to be roaming the Tyrannian plateau,
Look out for a gold master of the skies,
And if your pet happens to be one of these majestic beings,
You might want to check your bank account,
And find a few extra Neopoints there.

Pteri Pink Hoodie
by indulgences

The weather has turned cold and brisk.
The autumn trees are gold.
A chilling wind blows to and fro.
Your Pteri might be cold.

She chirps and squeaks, she shivers so.
She trembles, chilled and bleak.
She hugs her wings quite close to her.
Her circulation’s weak.

There is an item that will make
Your Pteri snug and warm.
There is a hoodie hued with pink
That can be gladly worn.

It’s dotted with white sequins that
Are shaped like tiny stars.
They shimmer, glisten, shine and gleam,
Though seen from quite afar.

The hood is made of softest cloth
That shelters your pet’s face.
It’s pulled taut with some ribbons pink,
So full of glossy grace.

The inside of this lovely garb
Is lined with silky fleece.
Your Pteri will be overjoyed.
Her shivering will cease.

Please, buy your Pteri this hoodie, for
It’s bound to make her smile!
A truly special wearable
That’s full of charm and style!

The Golden Pteri
by myncithemonkey

Soaring above the skies,
The Golden Pteri flies,
Shimmering in sunlight,
Truly a graceful sight.

Across the land it glides,
On fast jet streams it rides,
To seek out its own kind,
With special goals in mind.

To reward those with heart,
Who make Pteris a part,
Of their caring household,
An ample sum of gold.

Those without a Pteri,
Don't need to be wary,
It will wish you good day,
Before flying away.

Four Different Pteris
by rivera_ice_princess

Squawk, squawk, squawk,
I may look like a hawk,
With my rocky little walk,
And my piercing little stalk.

Four-oh-four and seeing red,
Neopians see me and fled,
I taunt when the site is down,
My news haunts all over town.

Golden in the sky, 'tis me,
I fill Pteri lovers with glee,
I spread joy and Neopoints,
While flying and flexing my joints.

You can find me on Mystery Island,
Scouring the beaches and the highlands,
Look out! Here comes the pirates!
No doubt, they will cause riots.

Alas, you can't escape the darkness,
Look up and feel the harshness,
Fear not, for I bestow you a gift,
A gift so swift, that'll make your mood shift.

Peter the Pteri
by orlytheowl

Peter the Pteri had to learn how to fly
Somehow he froze with the thought of the sky
He figured his fear was related to heights
His fear kept him awake through long and dark nights

But flying is important in a Pteri's life
To not fly is sure to cause sort of strife
So Peter figured out what he had to do
He had to get help from someone who knew

The only one who of his troubles knew
Was his best friend in Tyrannia, a Pteri called Drew
He was a flyer that flew fast, high and low
Peter begged that he the gift of flight could bestow

Peter asked Drew when they were dining at Kelp
Drew was so happy that he could finally help
They started the training the very next day
He insisted exposure to heights was the very best way

Drew took him flying, higher each day
Peter felt that his fears kept away
And Drew was right, because Peter can fly
He is no longer afraid of the clear and blue sky

The Black Pteri
by doorknob39

Midnight plumage,
Razor beak,
Fierce needlelike talons,
The Black Pteri looms over all.

With a rustling of feathers,
And a croaking "caw,"
The avian spirit demands
Respect, akin to fear.

Screeching "Nevermore"
Never seemed to suffice -
Silence stands more effective,
Sending shivers down spines.

Illuminated by harvest moon,
The Black Pteri sits,
Waits,
An omen of ill-fate.

Through gloomy nights,
Solitary,
Lonely - in need of a friend.

The misunderstood Pteri awaits a generous soul.

The Eventide Pteris
by miraday

The flock of Pteris intuitively congregate
As the Moach begin their sad evensong.
Yesterday is finished, today grows late,

Tomorrow will be over before we know it.
Nighttime obscures the Pteris’ down;
The intragroup forms without conflict

As they represent all of the Rainbow Pool.
From the trees of Tyrannia, they ascend;
Gracing the very sky they have ensouled.

Grounded Neopets take notice: from below,
Sunset filaments glitter in their feathers.
The evening has granted them its afterglow.

The aphorism holds true, even if trite:
The birds of a feather flock together.
From this view, they all appear Eventide.

The Joy of Flight
by kiaxxl

I pity the wingless pets,
trapped on the ground below
for there's no greater pleasure,
than following where the wind blows!

I'm a Pteri, strong and nimble,
with wings that embrace the sky
A dull life trodding on dirt,
would surely make me cry.

For streaming through clouds of white,
and swooping through shades of blue
the wind caressing your feathers
and on your beak gathering dew

Is a thrill compared to no other,
a freedom that never gets old
Towards the horizon I speed,
bathed in orange and gold.
