Kougra Day Special!

Kougra Day
by fourin

An eerie and bellowing noise,
Erupts across Neopia,
This loud and fearsome voice,
Could cause a NeoPhobia.

What creature could make this sound?
Would it be large and scary?
Maybe it could shake the ground?
Surely not ghost, witch or faerie?

Is the Turmaculus cross and grumpy,
After being woken from slumber?
Could it be a stampede of Chombies,
With feet trampling like thunder?

If you were to ask around nearby,
You could learn about the noises,
And once you know the reason why,
You won't be scared, but joyous.

From Mystery Island to Meridell,
The Kougras are well known,
For their enormous growly yell,
It can chill you to the bone.

But on this special day they like
To compete for the loudest growl,
To find who sports the nicest stripes,
And who has the most menacing scowl.

Their celebrations are quite a rumble,
With roars of tremendous force,
Who will be this year's King of the Jungle?
We'll find out on Kougra Day, of course!

Wild Kougra
by fruit_fanatic24

They hop and play with grand sashay;
They flounder, trounce, cavort, and bounce;
They frolic in the brightest grass
Among the sunny flower patch.

They tag their friends around the bends
Of wild trails and ragged tails;
They prick their paws on knotted thorns
Beside the red tomato farms.

They wrestle, fight, with all their might,
And pine beside the laundry line.
They tack the mud and throw the dirt
On Farmer Rusty's undershirt.

They climb the trees and sniff the breeze
Of pollen free and sap beneath,
They etch the bark until it's peeled,
Behind the sprouted soybean field.

They revel 'til the crickets shrill,
And fireflies descend the skies;
But Kougras aren't ever done
Until they've finished having fun.

Pounce!
by xrawr_grrx

Tail, a side to side sway,
Claws, kept at bay,
This Kougra is ready to pounce,
His excitement makes him bounce.

Eyes, fixed on his prey,
Teeth, smiling away,
He flexes his paws to prepare,
His victim is still unaware.

Pounce! He tackles the Neopet,
Laugh, he's won the bet,
The Kougra wags his tail happily,
As the Neopet scolds him snappily.

Cheeky, these Kougras can be,
Fun, that's the true key,
The Neopet then starts giggling,
Beneath the Kougra he starts wriggling.

Faces, with laughing tears,
Shoulders, shaking in cheers,
A Kougra is always full of surprises,
Ready to scare when the moment arises!

Kougra fast and fun
by orlytheowl

Playful and fun
Loves to take a run
At the Mystery Island coast
Where she can truly boast

Her teeth are sharp and shiny
Her tail the opposite of tiny
Quadruped and soft and furry
Her swiftness makes it all go blurry

The Kougra shines of glory
Her tale is an epic story
That tells that Kougras aren't frail
And that their bravery will prevail

Untill the end of time
The victory bells will chime
They will run with grace
Because they can never lose a race

The Kandy Kougra, Oh So Kolorful
by _brainchild_

Candy Kougras are so fine,
The definition of divine.
I'd love to add one to my pack---
The swirls of many hues I lack.

The tangerine, cerulean
And rosy hues are sure to win,
Along with green of leaves so wild.
These picks are anything but mild!

The flavors may be very dandy.
Though this Kougra's made of candy,
Do not lick!!! He's sentient.
Your tongue he'll certainly resent!

The paint brush calls my name. I will
Obtain this hue so sure to thrill.
The cat of colors will be mine.
This choice is brilliant, sure to shine.

Kougra Day
by poodle1999

There is a tropical island set quite faraway,
Where the sun is hot and the palm trees sway.
You can visit the beaches to swim and bask,
Or explore its jungle if you're up to the task.

No two parts of Mystery Island are quite alike,
So keep your eyes open during one of of your hikes,
For if you search where the berries are ripe,
You may catch a glimpse of a creature with stripes.

Kougras move through the jungle with stealth and grace,
You might not notice one until it's in front of your face.
Covered in fur and anything but frail,
They like to balance with use of their tail.

And though their paws might give you a fright,
They prefer to play and pounce, not stay and fight.
One of their favorite games to play is Coconut Bowling,
They won't stop until they have that ball rolling.

You'll find them in all colors from desert to blue,
And if you have a paintbrush, you can paint your own hue.
So why not head over to Mystery Island today,
In honor of this one and only Kougra Day.

The Midnight Smuggler: the most frightening Kougra
by vinanas

In the outskirts of Tyrannia,
Stands a thief in the shade,
Stealing is on his agenda,
Looking for those who seem afraid.

There! A budding JubJub caught his eye.
The Smuggler is on the move,
On his way to horrify
His victim, unaware and obtuse.

The Kougra quickly advances,
Jumping from cover to cover,
Rapidly declining are the chances
Of the survival of the youngster.

The Smuggler stands now in front,
in the small creature’s sight.
The target stands still, stunned.
It’s tiny heart filled with fright.

Oh! It’s too hard to keep on watching
This scary confrontation!
But the bandit seems to be stopping…
Is there a hint of deviation?

The burglar removes his hood,
Kneels down to the child
‘Do not fret, I will do good,
It’s Kougra day after all!
I won’t do you any harm.’
He gives a gift and smiles.
