Kiko Pop

Echoing from the red and white striped tent,
The carnival music rings like a joyful melody.
As you approach, an eager Kiko in plaid asks,
“Fancy a Kiko Pop game at highest difficulty?”

There’s no way you’d try easy and effortless;
You boldly declare, “Let’s do super crazy hard!”
Surely, this Kiko’s game couldn’t be that tough? 
The Kiko grins and hands you a choice of darts.

You select the red one and the curtain is drawn.
A spinning board of balloons appears, a spiral
Moving without pause! You dizzily throw the dart
And miss, its dull edge ricocheting. Oh, failure!

“Woah, careful there! Next time, try to hit one
Of these balloons, not one of the lake’s Kiko!”
The Kiko roars, knowing his game did its trick.
“Maybe you’ll have better luck tomorrow?”

Kikos, Kikos, how beautiful they are.
They can glow and shimmer under a star.
Although you may find them at the Neopian bazaar,
The happiest place for them is any sand bar.

You'll find Kikos like Lamelle Turow during the Altador Cup.
Who was raised to compete since he was a pup.
He will go in fast for the windup,
and make everyone in the crowd stand up.

Kikos are fanastic and cool.
Being with one, you'll never want to follow a rule.
You can go anywhere with one, though they belong in a pool.
Every kiko is like a flawless jewel!

A Swim In Kiko Lake

What happy days of careless fun
We spent out in the summer sun
On Kiko Lake when we were young,
And this from my heart was wrung!

On shimmering shores of Kiko Lake,
What lovely swims we used to take!
The Kikos following in our wake,
Like dreaming while I was awake.

On the sun-warmed sand we laid, 
Into the shallows we would wade,
If within my reach a Kiko strayed,
I caught him in my hands unafraid!

Out deeper into the water we went,
Your hand to mine you kindly lent,
What sunny days together spent!
You and I and the Kikos, I meant. 

I took the oar of our boat and steered,
Sparkling blue-green crystal clear,
My watery reflection like a mirror,
What strange lovely things appeared!

The Kiko houses were down below,
Seaweed swayed in the ebb and flow,
While I held the other oar and rowed,
And all around was a golden glow.

We oftentimes went in for a swim,
Going always on fancy or whim,
Water deep as my heart to the brim,
And see-through as my love within.

Kiko Celebration

To the Kikos we adore:
Today we celebrate
Their cute circular bodies
And large shiny eyes.

From their smelly garlic flavour
To a delicious Chokato,
These round Neopets
Are awesomely perfect! 

You can find them taking a dip
Off the harbour at Kiko Lake 
Or trying to to pop
A balloon off Elvin's spinning board.

When you have a Kiko,
They'll be your friend for life.
So today, we say three cheers
To the Kikos we adore.

Oh to be a Kiko

Oh to be a Kiko 
Swimming merrily and free 
Dancing in the lake 
How happy that would be. 

Perhaps to run a shop
Antiques, carpentry, or treats,
Or giving lake tours
Oh yes, that would be sweet!

I could assist Archie,
And help him invent new things:
Bubble powered boats
And solar powered wings.

I’d train hard for AC,
And hope to impress Cellars:
Quicker than Erli,
And the other fellas.

I’d learn from Prudella,
And take on the poker stars.
Or, like Zembao, train
My petpets for grand spars. 

Like Fingholl and Bayner,
I would explore all the seas.
To help other pets
And make discoveries.

The Kiko Pirate, Captain Dread

There once was a Kiko captain,
Who sailed the seven seas.
His prowess of the oceans,
Would bring you to your knees.

His (quite literally) skeletal frame,
Frightens children and adults alike.
It’s not his appearance that one should fear,
But his ability to launch an attack with a single strike.

He is merciless and unrelenting,
He has no time for excuses or pleas.
All who live and trade in the island nations,
Must pay up their due fees.

Pillaging and extorting,
He makes the rounds every week,
No shop or tavern is left unturned,
It’s dubloons and treasure he seeks.

Rumor has it that the Maraquans rebelled,
Sick of his tyranny after an especially poor harvest,
They refuse to pay this no-legged oppressor.
What happened after - I’m sure you can guess.

Thus Captain Dread doomed the city,
With all his forbidden magic and curses,
Maraqua was swallowed whole by a whirlpool,
Wiped clean off the universe.

The Kiko Way

In the distance you hear the splashing
of the wonderful Kikos, fair and dashing.
The lake named after them is their home:
sparkling water in a volcano's dome.

Inner tube racing, they have so much fun.
It matters not to a one who has won.
Others enjoy playing games dodging balls,
spikes adorning all, even the walls.

But they don't always play, you can be sure.
A Kiko also makes a great entrepreneur!
Detailed carpentry and glass boat tours:
Kikos are found in a variety of stores.

Well known for their confection making,
their rock candy is truly breathtaking.
Without their candy or a Kiko shaped treat,
no trip to Kiko Lake is really complete.

Now once again their day is here,
So everyone rejoice, everyone cheer!
We celebrate the Kiko on this day.
Let's all have some fun, the Kiko way!

Kiko Ball

Every day they can be found,
All the Neopets gathered round,
Every big and every small,
Playing a game of Kiko ball!

Round and round you go,
Waiting for the famous throw,
Before you jump up and snatch
The kiko ball in the kiko match!

You grab the ball and run to score,
Those who fly, they really soar,
Towards the goal and run real fast,
Hoping to make the winning blast!

So don't let life keep you in a cage,
Join Kiko Ball! It's all the rage!

Ode to Kiko Lake

There is one place in Neopia,
Where one can find true peace,
Kiko Lake.

Kiko Lake, how you bring me joy!
With your candy treats,
And marvelous toys,
Kiko Lake, you are truly my favorite land!

Your people, the Kikos, are kind and sweet,
Like the rock candy they make,
And the furniture they craft,
Always put together expertly.

How I hope I can visit you,
The place of my happiness,
Very soon, for being away from Kiko Lake,
Is being away from joy.

Lament of the Kiko

Bandage, stark white against the Kiko's head, 
Brings attention to all passing. 
And, as always, one dreads, 
The questions of "why?" people will be asking. 
Maybe it's a fashionable touch, 
A nod to the medical world. 
It could easily stand as such!
Like a beautiful white flower unfurled.

Or, perhaps the Kiko's heart was broken, 
Thrown into the pound or morphed into a Chia.
Sadder words have yet to be spoken, 
From here to Crimea. 

Instead of mending his broken heart, 
He put on a bandage and called it a start. 

So, instead of inquiring and being all smug, 
Heal his broken heart (and head) with a simple hug!
