While we celebrate our Petpets
all the year round
this is the day when
we let out a sound.

Petpet Appreciation day has arrived
let us all give out a cheer
for Petpets in general
on this day of the year.

From Meowclops to Spardels
to Slorgs and to Snowickle
We celebrate all Petpets
with the help of the PPL.

They cheer up our pets when down
they help explore the Symol Hole
They help with our gem heists
and the Turmacs do roll.

Without Petpets, we'd have no Altador Cup
No catacombs could be explored
Nothing could help the grey faerie
and all our Neopets would be bored.

So give a cheer for Petpets
Their shapes and sizes, unique
for with their Neopet owners
they make Neopia complete.

My favourite petpet is the Faellie,
They are furry not scaly. 
A tad nervous with sensitive ears,
Useful at times, especially for their peers.

Another sweet petpet is the Caramiller,
Why? Well, let me tell ya.
They're so jolly and full of happiness,

Keeping my pets company when I must go.
From the moment I saw you in the store,
I knew you were the one forever more.

Petpet oh petpet you light up the room,
Even when my pets days are full of gloom.
Every day I am excited to play,
Never wanting to leave, only wanting to stay. 

Petpet oh petpet you are truly a friend,
This day is for you from beginning to end.

Ode To Less-Loved Petpets

An occurance commonplace and trite
To see a petpet bark or bite
On any given sunny day
One sees an angelpuss at play

Or so too many seem to think!
Stop by the rainbow puddle (don't take a drink)
See the grand menagerie
You might help end this drudgery

A tralbak out for some rare sun
Or a gabar on an awkward run
See the fins of the bubblebee flow
And the kazeiru's gem all aglow

A doglefox, sure, that is fine!
A kadoatie? I could call one mine!
But there is so much more to see
When from the average, you are free

Have you seen a mischievous morkou grin?
Touched the roughness of a sauropod's skin?
Seen a bleamix stick its tongue out long?
Heard a pygui that knows it's doing wrong?

The kimbi's wiggles are its best trait
The acko loves such, it has never known hate
The bika is fluffy and so strong, too
The droolik... well, it stares at you

So love your feepits, your mallards and noils
But if looking at petpets feels like a toil
Remember how many you may have not known
That would certainly love to be called your own.

for no matter how much

you are bound to find
your Neopet a loving
and loyal friend.
Wherever you may roam

can be found.

Origami Petpets

Petpets: something we all take for granted
But we love our petpets very much. 
Some are spiky and slimy
But some are soft to the touch.

But not everyone can afford a nice petpet
Be it an Angelpuss or a Quetzal.
Some users would prefer to spend their points
On a salted pretzel.

But when you start to play with your pets
You get a starter pack.
In this pack, you get many things,
One being a wearable potato sack.

Two paint brushes, a mashed potato,
And two funny looking creatures:
Two origami petpets
With some weird looking features.

There is a chance at four different petpets
And whichever ones you get is based on luck. 
Unfortunately, you cannot trade for these petpets
So no matter what, you’re stuck.

The four origami petpets are as follows:
Ditsy, Frogler, Weeble, and Liobits.
Don’t worry if you don’t get the one you want
Because these petpets aren’t exactly big hits.

But why don’t we appreciate them
As much as we do other petpets?
They’re free of charge, unlike the Meowclops
Which buying can wrack up some debts.

A Ditsy is a yellow creature
With its two legs behind it.
That’s a good thing for origami
So, no matter what, it sits.

The Frogler closely resembles a Mortog
In both are frog-like petpets.
If a Frogler wasn’t origami,
It would probably sit in a pond with no regrets.

The Weeble is constantly smiling
With those cut out wings on its back.
But you don’t usually cut paper in origami
And I think that’s a fact.

Finally, the Liobits is a warm shade of orange
With a mane like a Noil.
If it had hair, I can say for certain
Its mane would be so frill.

Hug your petpet today
And show that you care for it
You could be one of thousands that cannot afford
Anything but the starter kit.

I am not sure why,
there is a special holiday such as today.
For something everyone should be doing,
each and every day anyway.

I guess some Neopians are forgetful,
and need to be reminded now and again.
To appreciate what is right in front of them,
through the sun and the rain.

Today is set aside,
to think of the petpets we love.
To appreciate them,
and help them rise high above.

Petpet Appreciation Day,
a day overlooked by lots.
A day meant to let petpets,
take over all of your thoughts.

So hug your favorite petpet,
and give them the love they deserve and more.
