The Many Pets of Neopia
Nimmo, JubJub, Scorchio too!
Which lil Neopet's right for you?
Grarrls and Korbats and Skeiths are fun!
I wonder how anyone can choose just one?
How 'bout a Wocky? They're pretty neat!
Oh, and those Kikos! They have no feet!
Me? I like Unis! And Usuls too!
Krawks, Draiks, and Tonus! Those pets are new!
Oh, wow those Chias!
They can be shaped like fruit!
And Grundos are funny looking they're a whoot!!
Meercas and Pteris, they are so much fun,
Then there's Chombys and Kougras....
We're not nearly done!
Well, we have Poogles and Moehogs,
Kyriis and Kois,
Acaras and Shoyrus! (But I call them Shoy's :)
Do you like Blumaroos? Oh, Techos are funny!
So are Zafaras and Quiggles,
but not the Cybunny!
Who is not listed? Oh yes the cute Lupe!
And Buzz and Kacheek!
(They're ears sure are droopy!)
And Elephantes and Gelerts and Tuskaninnys too!
And Myncis and Flotsoms!
Those Jetsams look blue!
Well, last but not least,
We have dear Bruce and Lenny!
And Peophins are plentiful (there are so many!)
Each and every pet in Neopia, alive,
Is counted when we say:
"Neopets? There are fourty-five!!"
So the next time you pass a Neopian, say,
"Did you know how many Neopets
Are around today?
There are water pets and land pets
And pets that fly!
'How many pets are there?' you ask.
Whispers of the nightly wind
Sang a grievous song
As the fallen loser flew back
Home where he belonged.
He hung head down low
He fluttered his aching wings
Over to his master
Whom he cherished over anything.
Waiting for those dreadful words
Of hurt and scorn and laughs
He was surprised to find a smiling girl
Whose hug recieved him back.
His eyes looked up at her
So full of dishonor and humiliation
"I could have beaten him!" he shouted
"I don't doubt your determination"
"But I lost," cried the shoyru
"But you fought hard", cried the owner
A smile forming at the edge of the mouth
Of the two forever friends.
The Battledome was empty
Not a soul in sight
But a lone figure stood
Practicing with all his might.
A fallen warrior pressing on.
Thoughts From The NeoPound
Why must you leave me behind?
What did I do that was so wrong?
Did I not love you enough?
You're talking to that person
What's he gonna do with me?
What could I have done differently?
You can't just leave me like this!
I'll do the puppy dog eyes, those never fail
They failed! Oh no!
You just can't leave like this!
You can't just leave me!
No! No! Don't leave me!
Those are tears falling down my cheek
And I usually don't cry
He left. He just left me here
All alone, to wither up and die
Why did this happen to me?
What did I ever do that was so wrong?
I trained hard, fought well
I learned quickly, read constantly
I played nice, always behaved
Why? What did I do?
Oh boy, someone else dumping off a Neopet
More company for me, yay.
Wait, why is she picking me up?
Where's the Neopet she's abandoning?
She's talking to that man again
Now she's picking me up, holding me
A new collar? Why'd you get me a new collar?
Wait one minute, did I just hear right?
She's taking me home with her?
Yay! I'm going home with the nice girl!
I promise I'll be a good neopet! I promise!
I look back at the pound
Never gonna hafta go there again
My new master shows me my new home
New home, and this time, here to stay
Why You Should Never Play a Game
with Disaster in the Title
For the last few days, I've known not what I do
It was a game, you know its name,
It's called Better Than You
Tazzalor taunted me with boasts
Of his skill at Dubloon Disaster
Then I knew that I would too,
Soon have the game mastered
At first the game looks simple enough,
something a child could do
But there is a challenge that this water holds
that now I see too
My first attempt failed right away
Stunned I sat with nothing to say
I started again, this time sure to succeed
Blown into smithereens, reduced to fish feed
I played and I played until I could play no more
Then forced myself to improve my score
My attempts in number soon sharply grew
As for my skill, I saw that growing too
Until the time came for me to make my stand
I gritted my teeth and stretched my hands
My eyes now blazing, my mind now numb
Nothing could touch me, my time had come
I frightened myself with my speed and precision
As I swerved the mines and neared my mission
Through the waves my boat now flew
As Tazzalor had done, soon I would too
One more dubloon, I'd have done it
One more point, and I'd have won it
A little closer, soon I'd be there
Then a mine appeared, from outta nowhere!
And just like that I was going down
My giant grin became a melancholy frown
A small red poof and I was gone
Sadness soon rose like light from dawn
I fell from my chair and onto the floor
I lay there an hour, maybe four
I'm not proud to say that then I cried
One Unlucky Duck
The days turn to weeks
and the weeks turn to months,
And still I am stuck in a rut.
I don't understand how I can't seem to win,
In that blasted Tiki Tack hut.
I don't think he hates me, that wierd little man,
I just think it might be dumb luck.
But I still need to fix that one little problem,
Until then I have to stay stuck.
If anyone finds a four leaf clover,
Would you mind please telling me first.
My pets all agree it seems to be true,
That maybe I just might be cursed.
I tried to play Krawps and that was a flop.
I took a shot at the stock market,
And my neopoints dropped.
Dicearoo was just sad,
I lost the first roll.
I just couldn't win,
And my total paid the toll.
The Snowager awakens every time I draw near,
And chases me from his stupid old cave.
I dont care what they tell you
Dont believe what they say,
There is no reward for just being brave.
So here I am still broke as can be,
And I seem to have a worse situation,
I can never become any more unlucky,
And I really do need a long long vacation.
I can't seem to win, not one red cent,
But I guess I am lucky I don't have to pay rent.
