Eyrie Day Special

Eyrie Day
by dr_tomoe

On Eyrie Day we celebrate
our winged and feathered friends
capable of flying anywhere
from here to Neopia's end.

So for this day, enjoy
a taste of Eyrie Pancakes
and give their feathers some grooming
for theirs and for our sake.

And well known Eyries get their due
on their holiday before its pass
to heroes like Talinia
or villains like Lord Kass

Their alignment doesn't matter
for Eyrie Day we celebrate all
With mirth and food and meriment
we will put out the call.

So celebrate your favorite Eyrie
there are many to choose from
famous ones or average citizens
until Eyrie Day is done.

Branston Hits the Floor
by geneames1

Branston is an Eyrie
with the smoothest moves in town
King of every disco
He knows how to get down

First he raises up his hand
and points it at the ceiling
then he slowly starts to tap his foot
to show he's got the feeling

underneath the disco ball
which glitters with hard light
casting diamonds on the dancers
As they boogie through the night

Branston greets the revelers
As they come in through the door
No get together is complete
Without Branston on the floor!

The Evolution of Eyrie
by icysnowe

This magestic beaked creature,
Has been admired through the ages.
So let us take a venture,
Deep into its history pages.

Let's revisit the very beginning,
When the first Eyrie came to be.
You'd be forgiven for not believing;
For not recognising them as Eyrie.

It's not simply legend that would have it,
The history books have clearly shown.
Ancient Eyrie were a different breed --
Cerpull, as they were once known.

Let's delve into more recent times,
This was probably circa Year Two.
The next transformation took a few tries --
And this time they were called Tatsu.

Looking like a Shoyru, but larger,
Did not bode well for these pets.
It was barely a year later,
That the next makeover date was set.

Now we've arrived at the final phase,
A new Neopet had come to be.
Familiar to all eyes these days --
Unmistakably, indubitably, Eyrie.

Happy Eyrie Day to Branston, Our Favorite Self-Obsessed Neopian
by voiceprint

Carefully, the Eyrie eyes his deck.
He has no threes;
He hopes no one will check.
Branston smiles slyly with glee
As he slides his cards across the table.

Chuffer Bob looks suspiciously
But decides to let him slide.
Branston plays his next move injudiciously
“CHEATER!” Little Timmy chides.
The Eyrie picks up the deck & rolls his eyes.

The game continues to go south.
Branston throws his cards down in a huff,
While practically foaming at the mouth.
He left for the Disco to go strut his stuff;
He would properly celebrate Eyrie Day somehow.

Admiring his golden medallion in the reflection,
Branston gracefully slicked back his hair.
Neopians gathered around him with affection
As he began to prance with extravagant flair.
For he’s the great Cheat player and Dancer around!

“Everyone loves to see me dance”, he claims.
“Well, they just love me! Who could blame?
I’m the most handsome Cheat Player there is.
You see my trophies? I was destined for Show Biz!
So Happy Eyrie Day to me,” Branston grins.

Eyrie Mountaineer Outfit
by indulgences

This outfit is nonsensical.
An Eyrie mountaineer?
Don't Eyries have two hardy wings?
And sun by which to steer?

It's surely meant for rugged hikes.
Its shoes are leather boots.
And yet, I rather think that wings
Would render these shoes moot.

Its goggles shield the Eyrie from
The worst of sun's bright rays.
I understand these goggles, for
They shield the Eyrie's gaze.

But, look upon the leather hat.
The jacket, leather stuff.
If Eyries were to summit peaks,
Is leather warm enough?

The pants are sturdy cargo pants,
And yet their legs are two.
Would Eyrie forearms be exposed
To mountains cold and blue?

The gloves are also paired in two.
They're made of sturdy cloth.
Yet shouldn't gloves be lined with fur,
To battle wind and frost?

And finally, the scarf completes
This very strange attire.
A grappling hook drapes round the neck,
But why is it required?

The Eyrie mountaineer is strange.
It's dressed for climbing peaks.
It clambers upwards on four legs.
A challenge it does seek!

Its Eyrie wings are folded back,
And never used at all.
I pray that it achieves its aim.
I hope it doesn't fall.

So here's my ode to Eyries brave
Who wear these rugged clothes!
You're resolute and purposeful.
A stunning look, you chose!

The Eyrie Navigator
by fleurdust

The crowd was gathered in the square,
To hear the Eyrie, standing there:
"Gather all, to hear my story!
A tale of flight and blazing glory!"
Some scoff, but others lean to listen;
Though they suspect it's all a fiction.

"The folks of Tyrannia's prehistoric towns,
Were plagued by a Beast of fierce renown.
And called on my flying expertise,
To do what no other had achieved:
To rid them of their terrible plight.
Using my legendary skills of flight."

"Below me, all the fires were bright,
Tyrannia shone in the morning light!
And as I soared and looped-the-loop,
The Beast descended in one fell swoop!"
The crowd was silent, listening close,
To the stranger's extravagent prose.

"I fought him on that precarious ledge,
All so I might fulfil my pledge.
And, at last, after struggles long.
The Beast fell before my claws; I'd won!"
And after a long and satisfied pause,
There came scattered, mystified applause.

A young Buzz stepped up with a scowl,
Pointing, he said, "You lying fowl!
If it's true, then where's your plane?
I'm calling you out--so do explain!"
The Eyrie gazed with a slight grin,
And beckoned his doubter closer in.

Whispering low to the agitator,
He told the secret of the Navigator:
"Dear boy, don't you know anything?
Who needs a plane when you have wings?"

Shadow of the Eyrie
by firedragon9078

In Haunted Woods lives
a fearful, frightened Eyrie
who can never see

his own shadow for
fear of it seeing him first!
He lives in darkness

and tries to stay far
away from others who might
accuse him of crime.

His only crime though
Is that of his shadow’s thirst
For pranks and hijinks.

And its darker whims
for thefts and throwing objects
around like footballs.

So the Eyrie lives
shadow-less to break the curse
and warns others of

his greatest folly.
The Haunted Woods are no place
for a scared Eyrie.

If you venture out
too late, your tale could be worse.
Beware your shadow

And its penchant for
Gaining awareness on this,
this All Hallows Night.
