Simon the Scorchio
was as poor as can be.
No Neopet he knew
had fewer Neopoints than he.

Simon knew his way of living
He could not sustain.
He had to find a way to earn more Neopoints;
That was apparent and plain.

He had tried to sell many items before
Such as Tombola sand in a pail,
Usuki wristwatches, or exploding jaw breakers,
but all his attempts seemed doomed to fail.

So Simon decided right then and there
To give something new one more try.
All he needed to do was find out
What Neopets would be willing to buy.

But how to find out? Simon wondered awhile
until the idea came - a survey!
He asked Neopets he saw, "What do you want?"
"More plushies!" was what they did say.

So Simon scraped together his last few Neopoints
and purchased a brand new factory.
He bought supplies, leased a store, and hired workers.
In no time he had made his first plushie.

But Simon's wares didn't sell as well as expected.
The first day he sold only two.
"If things continue at this rate," Simon thought,
"I'll be broke! What can I do?"

Simon payed a visit to his factory
To check on his employees.
He found them goofing off and ruining material.
He cried, "Meepits would be better workers than these!"

The time to pay rent was approaching fast
And Simon could not afford to pay.
In a last effort, he fired all of his workers
And hoped against hope his plushies would sell that day.

Simon waited, fingers crossed, wishing hard,
Hoping his investment would not disappoint.
To Simon's delight the customers poured in
And so did Simon's new Neopoints!

Simon learned the importance of hiring wisely
And, this time around, was more smart.
He bought new supplies and hired new workers
And gave his company a fresh new start.

This time, the plushies were better-made
And the customers they were able to please.
With plushies selling left and right
Simon was making a profit with ease.

Now Simon is rolling in the money
And his situation is quite opportune.
And that's how Simon the Scorchio became
Neopia's greatest Plushie Tycoon.

Celebrating Scorchio Day

Today is one of the best Neopian Holidays,
it is a very special day.
It is a day dedicated to a certain neopet,
who is unique in each and every way.

A neopet with a heart of gold,
and a fire in his eyes.
A happy go lucky species,
who is very wise.

With dragon-like features,
and spiky wings.
A neopet with a long tail,
a species who knows all sorts of things.

By now you know,
the neopet I am speaking of.
Today is the day,
we show Scorchio's lots of love.

These guys can really take the heat
If you see one charging, best retreat
But they won't make you into stew
They're really nice; it may surprise you

Volcanoes are their favorite places
Too hot for us, goodness gracious! 
Even still, it's worth the ascent
To go and meet a Scorchy friend!

On the 14th day
of the month of Running,
all gather to celebrate
a species so stunning.

Many years ago,
the Scorchio came to be.
They are one of the best,
several would agree.

Hailing from Tyrannia,
its appearance is tough.
Standing sturdy with spines,
a run in with one would be rough.

Thankfully for us,
Scorchio are not mean.
Not red, blue, yellow, green
or even the Halloween.

If you don't already own
a Scorchio, create one today.
There's no time like the present,
so no excuse to delay.

The Snobby Scorchio: A Customer's Lament

Oh, how I loathe the Maitre D'
Of Maraqua's fine eatery!
The Scorchio is such a snob—
With rage my heart is bound to throb.

He thinks that only the elite
Should sample culinary feats.
The bully blocked the door for me.
Outraged, I stood there and seethed!

I called upon the Manager.
She'd let me in, I felt quite sure.
However, she too left me BANNED!
Farewell to hopes of meals so grand.

The Scorchio, so horrible,
Ensures I'll snack on trash so dull,
Since he won't let me into Kelp.
The restaurant needs some better help.

Ode to the Altador Cup Referee

My favorite Scorchio has to be
That fantastic Altador Cup Referee,
Despite how I instinctively bristle
Every time he blows that obnoxious whistle.

Some Neopians claim this Scorchio is biased,
But I happen to know his moral standing is of the highest.
His dedication to the game can't be beat,
And he would definitely never, ever cheat.

And really, how does he manage to wear
That black-and-white-striped shirt with such great flair?
Players of the game respect this referee's watchfulness
And in them this trait inspires their confidence.

Most Scorchios are known as honest and brave,
But this particular one deserves some extra praise,
As surely being a referee must be thankless,
Considering the boos and jeers he must mentally vanquish.

Let's all just take one minute to consider
How this Scorchio is definitely not a quitter.

For continuing to be the best in the league!

A Scorchio's Lament

The Scorchio makes a poor dragon,
Nor ferocious nor brimming with flame.
They won’t cause unspeakable terror
When anyone mentions their name.

The others are slightly more fearsome,
Such as Skeith, Shoyru, or Draik,
And my Scorchio wishes that he
Could also make Neopets shake.

Mine bores with his good reputation
Far from a horrible brute,
Not being routinely expected
To brazenly pillage and loot.

He wishes that he were repulsive,
Despicable, ruthless and fierce,
With talons designed to frighten
And fangs finely fashioned to pierce.

Though possessing the desire for doing
The deeds any dragon should do,
Scorchios can't alter their nature,
And will settle to terrify you.
