Bori Day Special
by myriadz
Bori's are known to be timid and quiet,
it's unlikely you will find them causing a riot.
They originate from chilly Terror Mountain,
and can be painted dazzling colours at the Rainbow Fountain.
Digging is their forte with their large heavy claws,
it would seem this popular species has no flaws.
Their thick fur helps to keep them warm,
even in the worst snow storm.
Skiing and ice skating are their favourite pastimes,
surprisingly they even enjoy dancing sometimes.
Their homes are normally found underground,
they very rarely make a sound.
Neopets can have their broken toys repaired,
by Donny the Bori, no expense spared.
Armin the Small is the most famous Bori of them all,
with his trusty slingshot he made the Bringer of Night fall.

The Abominable Bori’s Abominable Bori Plushie
by usagi_bianco
At the tippy top peak of the Terror Mountains,
Along the slippery sloped ledges,
Resides the Abominable Bori’s plushie,
Hidden in an ice cavern’s wedges.
While its owner roams the passes,
With Snow Beasts following him, slinking,
This plushie sits all alone,
Its mind stuffed with thinking.
“Why am I, too, called ‘abominable’?
The word sounds, to me, like something dishonorable.
Maybe there’s a truth to what people say?
That I, like my owner, am intolerable!
Does that mean the pair of us are despicable?
Banished to these caverns like something kickable.
If we’ve done wrong, is this the price we pay?
Feared and ignored, completely dismissible.”
The click-clacking of claws on ice draws near,
The telltale sign of its owner’s return.
Just as the giant Bori comes into sight,
Right away, the plushie voices its concerns.
He listens, with great care and great tact,
At all that has been worrying his plushie’s thoughts.
And as soon as the rant is over,
The Abominable Bori assures that it was all for naught.
“There is no shame in being called ‘abominable.’
It’s merely a word that has become quite commonable.
This name has been mine for all of my days.
That you wear it, too, should make you feel honorable.
Neither of us two are in any way despicable.
These snowy packed mountains were made for the formidable.
How many others could endure living our way?
Our thick fur coats naturally overcome the inhospitable.”
These words fill the plushie up with pride.
Newfound love for its name, for the mountains and ice.
An Abominable Bori Plushie is what it always will be.
Named for its owner, who had one more piece of advice.
“Listen, little plushie, to what I say next:
What you are to others matters less than you expect.
You’ll learn to understand that we are all different and complex.
Most important is that you show them, and yourself, some respect.”
